Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)
danielpholt replied to Can's topic in Entertainment Exchange
I still think its fair to pick apart the decisions made by these characters, the writers and the show runners. Last episode was fun, but christ on a bike was it stupid. Stupid and fun is fine I guess, I just thought this show was above all that. -
Hopefully this becomes the game I wanted Planet Coaster to be.

That's Daniuel thank you very much.

We've all got them. Who are yours? I'll get us started with a few off the top of my head. Ninja Theory It dawned on me whilst telling anyone who'd listen that Hellblade is fantastic, that I also felt the same way about NJ's other titles. DMC was one of my favourite games of the year it was released, and Enslaved was one of the rare games that I played through in the space of 2-3 sittings. I love their sense of style, I love their ability to mix it up a little and most of all I love how willing they are to do something a little different. Bioware Funny thing about Bioware games. I've never had any interest in Dragon Age, and the latest Mass Effect game appears to be one to miss. However, the original three Mass Effect titles are likely some of my favourite games of all time. Knights of the Old Republic was one of the first 'long' games I ever completed and whilst they're not incapable of screwing it up, I'm always excited to see what they've got coming next. CDPR Along similar lines to Bioware here. I adore The Witcher franchise. And cannot wait to see more of what they've got coming up. Hell, I'm even tempted to jump into this card game they've made. I fucking hate cards.

Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)

Did anyone catch the tidbit of absolutely massive information that Sam cut Gilly off from delivering in Oldtown? Another exciting episode, rocket packs and all. -
Yup. I actually ended up knocking the difficulty down to easy at that point, largely due to the fact that I didn't want to see my save deleted this close to the finale.

Finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on Friday. So, I'm not really equipped to talk much about it's take on mental illness, but I can say that I don't think I've ever played anything that handled the subject matter as well as it does. You'll want to play it with headphones for certain, as much of the games overall feel comes from 'the voices in Senua's head'. The combat is fine, if a little boring at times (especially as you get towards the end), and some might find the games pacing a little..slow, but that didn't bother me much. I mean, it's closer to walking simulator that character action game, surprisingly. I think if the game works for you, you'll really enjoy it, regardless of its shortcomings. It worked for me, and I think it might end up being one of my favourite games of the year. Can't ask for much more than that from £24.99.

I think this game may end up placing on my end of year top 5. Technical issues aside, the actual game is absolutely fantastic. It's unlike anything else I've played this year and some of the things it does with audio design seem almost unique to games as a whole. I must be getting close to the end now, and you know what? I'm kinda bummed. Or as bummed as one could be about seeing the back of a game about mental health issues, an abusive parent and a fuck load of death. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I'm not really sure if the system is in the game at all at this point. That being said, I'm not going to take it for granted as I move forward through the game. The game itself isn't all that difficult, but the threat of having my save deleted if I fuck up too many times certainly brings something new to the table. The combat feels so much more desperate when you know you've got your back against the wall and are beginning to lose a fight. I hate the idea of losing my save, but at the same time, the threat of it makes the game feel so much more interesting.

https://www.pcgamesn.com/hellblade-senuas-sacrifice/hellblade-permadeath-bluff This stuff has been wild. Apparently the whole perma-death thing? It's not real? We've got no confirmation either way at this point. None of the reviews that mentioned the system thought it'd be a good idea to you know...see if it was actually in the game or not. As of right now I think we're assuming the perma-death messaging is in the game to place a little more emphasis on the games themes without actually doing any long term damage to the player. Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)

First off, I loved the episode. I've accepted the shows shortcomings (namely the travel aspects and the fact that with only a few episodes left, character development and the exploration of the narrative has likely got to go out of the window), but I think I prefer old thrones to new thrones. Not that new thrones isn't the best 60 minutes of pure excitement on tv each week. As for Dany, She's giving off some rather worrying vibes. The way she talks about her right to the throne and how she talks to Jon particularly. She's been like this for a while now, and as the situation gets more and more desperate I wouldn't be surprised to see her go down the 'burn them all' route. Esp with Jon also being born of Targaryen decent. Maybe they're setting the two up as opposites. -

I've got so much to say about Game of Thrones season 7, but I think it's better to just tie yourself down and let it happen. The show isn't going back to what it was in those early seasons, but there's still so much to enjoy here. Someone described it as a series of events happening to characters we know and love, and I think that's accurate and sums up the show at its current point. That's not to say its bad, just that it's.........different from the show we watched all those years ago. I wish they had more time to explore these plots, but I guess they've planted the flag already and rightly or wrongly, we're edging towards the shows conclusion. -
We've been getting a fairly regular shipment at my work, that being said it's certainly sold out more than we have it in stock. The first few months I wondered if Nintendo were artificially creating demand for the thing, but as we move forward I'm beginning to think it's general incompetence.
-
Got my fingers crossed for this one. I've not seen much in the way of hype or footage, but I've really enjoyed Ninja Theory's previous works, and I'm confident this will hit the mark once again.
-
I've not really spent much time with either series so I can't really compare it with either. What it is like though, is a less involved Banished. You'll manage your villagers, making sure you've got enough food for the winter, enough wood for the building of new buildings and enough stone to build your town's defences. It's insanely pretty and (as you might expect with a game like this, oozes charm). It's fun. I've not got far enough into the game to hit the point at which it becomes boring just yet, but I really like what I've played of it.

Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)

Not at all, the options are fine. They're the greatest poll options I've ever laid eyes upon, I just wanted to create some discussion around them. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
They are rather small, even for my hands. The grip is fine, but I can't speak well enough about the Pro controller. It's insanely expensive, but it might be my favourite out of the DS4/X Controller and PRO controller. Feels great in the hand and barely ever needs to be charged. So I've been encountering an issue with my Switch in that the damn thing just cannot maintain a reliable internet connection if I move it around my house. It's fine in the living room (where my router is), but if I take it into another room it loses connection to the wifi immediately. Honestly, it's not the most annoying thing in the world, but for a system that's touting it's ability to play Splatoon on the go, I can't imagine a world where it's actually feasible. Finally. I dropped a fucking plug onto my beautiful Switch screen. Thankfully I had a screen protector on and that took the brunt of the damage. Buy a god damn screen protector.

Can we talk about the poll? People seem to be fairly sure Littlefinger is going to get killed off pretty soon. Why is this? I understand they're making him into something of wedge between Jon and Sansa but that plot line has a while to get just yet; especially with Jon going south. Tormund however.... Potential spoilers for the rest of the season, although it's built upon something we've already seen in the show. -
I've gone ahead and got myself a pro controller and a screen protector. That's it at the moment. I'm not sure you'd need anything else to get you going. Maybe grab yourself an extra long USBC cable if you fancy charging and playing at the same time? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
