  1. Yep, me too, hence the whole infamous glove lawsuit.
  2. So wait, the sidequests in old towns are triggered by story events? So I need to be going back to those old towns periodically? Also, I will say that it's a little annoying having to walk around each town about 3 times to find all the quests people are offering because they're only available at certain times. It's also hard to remember where the guy that gave me the quest is sometimes. This is the first game I've considered buying a guide for in a long long time.
  3. Well hopefully the DX11 implementation won't be garbage this time. As much as I love super tessellated road blocks.
  4. I had the A button become mush on my GCN controller. I was pretty sad considering how Nintendo stuff is usually top notch. The other all time great Nintendo fail (besides the system itself) is the stand for the virtual boy. A stand made entirely of metal except for the cheap plastic part that holds it all together. Grrrrrrrr.
  5. Well, either you make it legal or the person doing heroin is a criminal because they're breaking the law. I suppose you could be really nice to him and pretend he's not a criminal but I'm not sure what the benefit of that is. I understand that chemical addiction is a genuine health issue and I'm not trying to downplay that but trying to remove the criminality of it seems somewhat unrelated.
  6. Unless this is just a joke you have a knack for completely missing the point.
  7. Well, to put it another way it's like saying 300 years ago, we have some iron here and some iron in China, lets go ahead and go get that iron from China because we're going to have to get it eventually. Why not just use the iron we have here now and go get the iron from china later? If we had gotten that Iron from China before we had invented flight and tried to bring it back it would be quite more expensive than in today's modern age.
  8. So if you don't treat it as a criminal matter what do you do?
  9. The first stage is. I'm fairly certain that this crap along with greatest hits boxes are done by publishers to piss off people on purpose for not paying full price for the game. This sort of packaging really bugs me.
  10. Really? From what I'm reading online the vast majority of asteroids are carbon mostly with some being silicate and a small % being metal in nature. Wouldn't you have to get a rather large amount of a quite rare material for this to make any sense? Also, technology gets better so it's not always a good idea to just start now. We have resources we need now and when we need the resources from space there's a pretty good chance that technology will make it easier and cheaper to get those resources so it's actually probably wasteful to start now.
  11. Lets go back to the drug issue. What is his suggested solution? Maybe you can summarize better for me what he's proposing because I'm genuinely confused.
  12. Same problem with the Vita but I'm glad there are no fixed numbs on portables simply to keep them more portable.
  13. "The key point is that their plan is not to simply mine precious metals and make millions or billions of dollars– though that’s a long-range goal. If that were the only goal, it would cost too much, be too difficult, and probably not be attainable." “The investors aren’t making decisions based on a business plan or a return on investment,” he told me. “They’re basing their decisions on our vision.” Sounds like quite a bit of daydreaming to me. Are there asteroids made of gold up there? I mean, how much of an asteroid is actually precious metal?
  14. Well, I mean, can you even pay someone to provide love and compassion? Is it still compassion at that point? Wiktionary's definition of compassion is actually a bit interesting. "Deep awareness of the suffering of another, coupled with the wish to relieve it"
  15. So, I never thought about this before it was posted here and recently this week I was playing on my PS3 and noticed that I do hold the PS3 remote in my fingers and not in my palms as it feels natural that way. I also think that is probably why I don't like it as much as the xbox controller because I prefer to palm my controller but palming the DS3 is no bueno. Also, The Wii Classic controller pisses me off for the complete lack of nubs. What were they thinking?
  16. Pirates would love that. Actually though I'm fairly certain there are whole sites dedicated to box art, some custom, simply for legitimate purposes I'm sure. My friends did this for their Netflix DVDs for PS3 and for Wii Sports and some other stuff that didn't come in standard jewel cases.
  17. He makes the point in his speech that it's about love and compassion. This is the part I don't fully understand. It seems a lot of liberals want the government to begin to replace the traditional role of the church in society by showing love and compassion and caring for their fellow man. At the same time the state is supposed to be steadfastly neutral in it's approach to religion and additionally you're trying to remain just. It's possible for an individual or a religious institution to show compassion and forgiveness but is that what we want the state to be doing as well? The whole idea of replacing traditional religious and individual moral responsibilities with government bureaucracies is both inefficient and debilitating to society. Anyway, it's a bit of a rant and I'm not against the state requiring some form of rehabilitation programs rather than simply incarceration but it is strange to hear people talking about the government providing love and compassion while simultaneously saying it should be religiously neutral. I'm not sure the two can be mutually exclusive.
  18. I did like how they would make jokes about the show itself sometimes. At the very end of the episode where Skinner actually turned out to not really be Seymour Skinner and was actually a guy named Tanzarian they said something to the effect of "and we'll never discuss this ever again.". They did make one brief reference to it later in the show. I don't remember the exact quote but it was something about skinner saying to always be yourself and Lisa says something like "Is that so Mr. Tanzarian?" I liked those little inside jokes that you'd only get if you watched it a lot.
  19. Hey, the Pretzel episode had probably one of the best endings ever. "But Marge, that little man in the white hasn't done anything yet and you know it's going to be good!"
  20. I just found it ironically named "That's what I call music" because it's exactly what I call crap.
  21. Developer: Crytek Publisher: EA Release Date: Early 2013 So let the PC fanboys go to town again. Crytek is already busy speaking out of both sides of their mouths on this one. On one hand they're promising DirectX 11 support day one this time (even though they had done that last time too). On the other hand they're saying they want all platforms to look the same. Since you can't really have a fully optimized DirectX 11 game on a console I wonder if the end result will be closer to Crysis 1 or 2. If they're smart they'll take a page out of the Battlefield 3 playbook. Make the PC version as awesome as possible, make the consoles as good as possible and forget about trying to make all platforms equal because they aren't.
  22. Yeah, seems strange that the fact that they never told him overrules the many years of love and care that they gave him.
  23. Finally saw Thor. I liked it but for some reason I feel like I shouldn't have liked it as much as I did. The story was too compressed. The character's motivations were a bit contrived. Thor was a total tool who instantly became a great guy and falls in love with a physicist for no good reason. Loki is evil for no reason other than he's evil. I dunno, lots of plot points that are crammed together in too short a time to keep the movie under 2 hours but I still liked it. Not really even sure why. It did have a few good laughs in it.
