  3. 5 guys started in the DC area i think? they're all over the place now. and don't believe mr. jack, covering them in malt vinegar just makes a soggy, over-rated fry soggier and just a little tasty. their burgers, however, ah-may-zing. i shouldn't have read this food thread when i haven't had breakfast yet. i'm hungry now damnit.
  4. ha! that's about how my cats got along too. the male would bother the female for us as well, his big thing was picking on her when she was in the litterbox, defenseless. we were actually not planning on getting another cat, but the furry little black guy kind of got shoved onto us or it was the shelter for him so he became part of the family.
  5. We accept her--one of us--gooble, gobble--we accept her--one of us--gooble, gobble...
  6. man the internet is seriously lacking in idiocracy clips related to fuddruckers. i was going to be the one to post it here and it would have been so perfect. now i'm sad :'( also, 5 guys makes a delicious burger but they have the most over-rated fries in the world.
  7. thanks, i'm all warm and fuzzy now!
  8. i'm slithy toves and i'm me. you may know me from kotaku (or other sites) where i have the same name / avatar. i'm new to the forums if that is where you think you may know me from.
  9. that's actually the human being test you passed there. congrats!
  10. i love torties! her personality sounds like my female orange tabby used to be, is she very talkative? mine would yell if you stopped paying appropriate attention to her.
  11. Heh. I just ordered some tandoori chicken + naan. It's gooood. well when i'm finally not lazy and i have delicious indian foods i can taunt you with my naans too :'(
  12. man, if i hadn't been so lazy lately i'd totally have had myself some homemade indian food to bring to work. i need to not be lazy. instead i had a tuna fish sammich.
  13. i too only have the 'flix, no cable. it's the way to be. there are bunches of great movies available in the instant queue. ichi the killer and the host are both fantastic if people haven't seen those yet. they just added the first season of she-ra, which excited the heck out of me, but probably nostalgia tainted. not so nostalgia tainted the dark crystal and never-ending story are on there and those are pretty sweet. anime-wise i've been watching soul eater. it's cute and funny, though i've certainly seen better anime. if you want to be disturbed i second diedan's mention of antichrist and add aftermath to the list.
  14. have you studied the revolutionary war period at all Battra? there is a lot of american history fodder that makes for some great reads, both fiction and non-fiction. ben franklin biographies are always a good time.
  15. o frabjous day! callooh! callay!

Well, just don't let those mome raths outgrabe you; it's not comfortable.

  16. i also vote we keep the stars. i likes them.
  17. thanks acid! yeah, even the vet was always surprised at how spry and young my kitty seemed until about a year before she passed when she started to show signs of serious tummy troubles. no one ever guessed she was more than 7, though. meh, even if she was acting sick for years it still would have sucked when she passed. i still actually kind of miss having her paw at my face in the morning and stare at me like a creep while i'm sleeping. i like how this thread's panning out, pets are great. so are children! keeping in the costume theme here's a more recent picture of my spooky kitty. i wish it was better quality, but you have no idea how hard it was to even get this picture of him in this thing. i'm actually really surprised he didn't stay more mad at us for this.
  18. touche. 6 of one, half dozen of another sir.
  19. meh, i understand some of the reasons and see what bouchart is saying but i feel like sometimes it swaps meaningful strategy w/ button mashing. give me the slower meaningful strategy any day.
  20. i'd like the know the answer to this one as well. i think ATB/turn-based allows for more strategic, as opposed to reactionary, gameplay options myself. i'm always able to find someone else who enjoys it if i'm in a group of gamers so i'm always really confused why developers make the change and say it has something to do w/ what people want. it obviously isn't everyone.
  21. phantasy star iv is a fantastic game. currently i'm playing through lunar on my psp, shining force for gba on my ds and trying to get into resonance of fate. i actually really like the game but having a hard time finding large blocks of time where i'm able to sit down w/ my console, so the handhelds are getting the love.
  22. noted. and on the topic of jeunet city of lost children could most definitely be added to a list of my favorite movies.
