I think everyone's interested. It's just a matter of finding a suitable occasion.

Gone Girl Wow. Hard to say much without spoiling it, but I really liked this. Like a postmodern Hitchcock in a few ways (I won't elaborate how). Really smart story/satire about media representation, playing roles, relationships. Some great performances from all the cast, too, even with Affleck looking a little too Batman buff already.
-
Hehe. That might have been going too far.
-
Okay, so my friend who's a bit of a history buff reliably informs me that the subtitle capitalisation is actually a nod to how English was written during that time. That makes the most sense, and is kinda cool.
-
Ah, maybe. That seems a somewhat logical explanation at least.
-
My friend might be able to join us. Advised him about having void weapons, since I believe that's the vex shield weakness. Think I'll switch my sunsinger super to revive from death. Don't know if it's worth just discussing some basic tactical stuff? Oh, and I suspect we might have some mic problems? Or at least, the other night, I could hear Ethan mostly okay but I had no idea James even had a mic because I couldn't hear him at all. Just lots of one-sided convos with Ethan.
-
Heh, that may be, but have you seen the subtitles? It's got random words capitalised and I can't see why. I doubt it's some CoD: Black Ops secret first letter related shenanigans because it's too numerous. I don't even understand how someone could write it like that...

Started AssCreed 4: BFFs. Watch Kenway and Adéwalé go from mateys to mates. The initial opening feels a bit rushed, but I guess better than it being too slow. "Ooh, I'm off to join the assassins!" "Psyche! Welcome to the Templars!" "NOT AGAIN" My other initial thought is that the mission design feels a little better and a little more forgiving. Like, you can go all stealthy and feel like a badass if you nail it, but if you mess up you're not punished with a restart. Everything just gets messy and feels awkward, and becomes somewhat 'desynchronised' (akin to messing up in a 3D Sonic and breaking your flow) which is enough of a disincentive for me. p.s. what the frig is up with the odd (non)capitalisation of words in the HUD as well as the subtitles?! Fix your game, Abstergo.

The Nolan theme gives me goosebumps, but definitely not as grandiose (or plain good) as Elfman's. The sound engineering/design for the whole prisoner transport sequence in The Dark Knight is phenomenal though, with barely any music to it.

I liked Cera. I found the Scott Pilgrim of the books too much of an unrepetant jerk whereas Cera at least makes him more likeable.

Well, I can do later if it's a Friday or Saturday night, just maybe not everything in one sitting.

Yeah, MetalCaveman's time works well for me. I mean, nearly any 2PM Eastern is good, really.

My first piece of advice would be to consider levelling up Sunsinger on the side (good idea is to have it set when you turn in bounties and decrypt stuff). Your best bet is to keep looking at bounties and spending a great deal of time in the strike playlists alongside just doing some patrols. If you can double-up on your bounties then all the better. For example, if you have to kill a load of Fallen then consider doing patrols on Earth or the Moon (using sunsinger while you do) or hope you get some relevant strikes. For the moment it'll be a lot of killing and hoping for good drops.

Viking gets to hit two people if you get lucky with his super power roll (or have 'Press' spent so you can reroll) and get to attach the token. Great damage from the super power but yeah, you gotta do a lot of landing on characters, especially the villain. Otherwise, yeah, sometimes a good idea to go after other heroes and catch them off-guard depending on what combos they have. Definitely not a game you'll fully grasp until you've played a bit. If I recall, the 'Master' part makes any action with the POW type deal 1 extra damage (only the super power for Viking, making it 7 damage), which doesn't sound much but can be pretty great for some heroes (not necessarily Viking though, definitely good for mutants who have two powers). The reducing DMG by 2 part is pretty good though, since you can feel a bit safer getting into the thick of the action, plus you might not need to rest as often and could even get an extra opportunity to play Maneuver for getting into position (you'll never really play Maneuver more than once or twice a game, normally).

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't intending on doing that, but definitely need to run those missions now. p.s. Zoe made me a browncoat!

Gradually levelling up Sunsinger. It's soooo good. Love that your abilities and super mean you get to lob loads of grenades and punch things and set everything on fire. Also at 24 now and just grabbed the vanguard chestpiece. 1 more strange coin until I can grab a helmet off Xur too. Then we gotta get some of us together to do some of the heroics and stuff!
-
Well good news is, I managed to jump two levels in a day. And I'm just two coins short of a thing from Xur. Plus a few more strike playlist plays and I think I can get something from my vanguard. Everything's coming up Milhouse!

Considering the fuck-ups with past AC games on PC and the Need For Speed games, I'd rather avoid the fuss and just play on console. Besides, the performance on PS4 most likely beats my PC anyway which is why I skipped any deals on those games in the first place.

This goddamn game. I want to do the high level stuff, and I've done a buttload of strikes but I'm still stuck at level twenty-fucking-two. Is it trolling me? I have to do Dust Palace so many times. Do the Strike playlists only contain three maps? I seem to go through Dust Palace, Winter's Run and The Nexus more than anything else. And now it's rewarding me with Hunter armour. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME GAAAAAAAME?!

Man, I was hanging out in the less exploit-y farming place on Venus -- Ishtar Sink? Where you go through the narrow library thing and into the area with 'pride rock' and find Fallen and Vex constantly going at it -- and shit got totally craycray. Usually, there's couple of vandals, a captain and two packs of dregs against a load of goblins and a couple of hobgoblins. All of sudden masses of each side swarmed the area and I was fighting off Reaver Captains, Disciple Goblins, Axel (?) Minotaurs. Basically, everything above the basic mob was a major and even the basic mobs were using beefier weapons. Eventually, it got too hot so I ran away to a safe distance, turned around and everyone just separated and vanished off to the doorways like, "That's enough fighting for today, toodlepip!"
-
I think it could be a little more generous at least. Rather than say people are playing 'wrong' you look at why you're playing. Are you shooting at a cave to get loads of loot just so you can say you have the loot, or would you rather run strikes over and over, ramping up the challenge? As someone who played hours and hours of Resistance 2 co-op, Uncharted 2 and 3 co-op and Halo Reach firefight, I'm not too bothered by the repetition since the shooting and everything is so so satisfying. Hopping in and doing some strikes or some patrol stuff/bounties sits well with my playstyle, so I'm perfectly content to progress the 'natural' way.

Yeah, I've seen it used as a sort of joke. I think a few times when a friend's made a mistake I pretend to overreact. "You lied to me? Why would you lie to me?!" Maybe this has been said before (with the cis stuff?) but one thing that does bug me is when people automatically disregard something because it's 'a white dude' saying it. Obviously, there are cases where it's people discussing things that they don't fully appreciate or whatever and it hasn't happened to me, but that attitude from the get-go seems to suggest that white guys are incapable of empathy or understanding. Either way, taking a dismissive tone like that doesn't help matters and just creates further rifts.

I finished Dollhouse the other day. Actually really liked it. It had hits and misses but the second season definitely picks up (apparently that flash forward ep didn't air originally, either). Does a lot of smart things with the concept, and the actors were all pretty good (the Victor guy was really versatile, and I loved his 'Topher'). Some of the twists were pretty shocking yet smart, too, although the main one is a little... eh, alright. And, yep, I spotted the couple of Firefly references when Summer Glau showed up.

I can see a bit of both sides, really. Strikes are what give you the marks for buying the really good stuff... but you'd probably do well exploiting first to get the better gear in order to participate in the higher difficulty stuff. I mean, I'm still 21 and I want to get 22 for the more challenging strike stuff but really want to be 24 for the real deal. I'm determined to level without loot caving. Got my first legendary engram yesterday... which became blue gloves.

Oh, darn, I paid in pounds sterling. That's my big mistake! Dean has it right though. None of them are particularly cheap, even pre-owned (which these were but 'Like New'), if bought elsewhere. You're paying around £25-30 for each pre-owned and £40+ for new. Watch Dogs was £16 (not sure if PS-exclusive content and missions code was multi-use but that still worked) AC: Black Flag was £18 Need for Speed Rivals was £21 (went over my £20 limit, but this also included some DLC) Considering the PS4 cost me nothing, I'm very pleased.
