  1. I haven't seen or heard about any callbacks to the 2003 series (the best one), and they'd more likely be related to the Mirage series it drew so heavily from. From what I've read, this sounds like a complete mess of rewrites. They might as well be aliens because the Hamato Yoshi back story stuff is completely absent, and you don't make a character called Eric Sachs (horrible westernised version of Oroku Saki?) if they're not Shredder, and pretty much filling the same role that Baxter Stockman could (maybe that's the 2003 connection). Despite all that... it still looks kinda fun and breezy. THOUGH 2007 FILM FOREVER
  2. Got a beta code for the Witcher Adventure Game (online board game). Seems tricky to actually get into a public match (mostly people not responding, then a crash...), and I'd rather fumble my way through a first playthrough with people I know/other noobs. I believe Dean's in as well, so we could already arrange a three-player between us. PM me if you're interested.
  3. Okay, so I know you're all heartbroken over news that the game has been delayed until next year. Fortunately, it's because THE WHOLE CAST has recorded V/O parts for it, and the devs are really expanding on the story, too. Some of the actors have been praising the writing, which is a good sign. Plus, they've got Niska and, hopefully, other 'regulars' returning, too.
  4. Booker's so generic. With that weapon and outfit that blend into any setting... When it comes to cyberpunk, sci-fi, space operas, neo noir and military-themed settings, double-breasted waistcoats are all the rage, for sure.
  5. This isn't a trailer. And it's not that weird. BUT IT IS WONDERFUL.
  6. Love the 'Rat Fink' style artwork and the game sounds p awesome in itself.
  7. True. Though, really, it's "Ban him! BAN HIM!" There was "Who ARE you?" but that was more just Smooves and me? Ah, the old days... Discuss.
  8. Hmm, assuming you've not already read what it is, it sounds like you've somewhat seen what it involves. Guess I should re-do my order since I'll switch a couple round and add in GotG. 1. The Avengers 2. Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Captain America 2 4. Thor 2 5. Iron Man 6. Thor 7. Iron Man 3 8. Captain America 37. Iron Man 2 (accounting for all schedule Marvel films up to 2028) Unseen: The Incredible Hulk.
  9. How Nicole Perlman Became the First Woman to Write a Marvel Movie
  10. Guardians of the Galaxy. So, so good. I think I spent most of the film with a smile on my face, if not a stupid grin. Bradley Cooper was brilliant as Rocket and Bautista was a real surprise, stealing a bunch of scenes, too. The whole cast were really good, but some definitely under-used. The only real problem is that some of the larger-scale action, while still good, lacked some oomph or sense of peril (Whedon is criticised for his cinematic action still looking very 'TV' but it's full of purpose and character and easy to follow) and there are some real script irks for me. Mostly it's the really bad expository dialogue but there are some other blips, too. Nothing majorly bad, but somewhat undermined some of the moments. Definitely go see it. Might be my favourite of the Marvel films if not second or third.
  11. Well, on the plus side, I should be getting a 'free' PS4 come September, so I might find myself picking up Destiny 'just because' (there are no other games LOL). Trying to arrange a PXOD meet-up with US folks is usually a pain though. I remember there was a lot of lag last time I played with Ethan, but I think that's because my friend forgot he was torrenting something. Definitely with Ethan on the Halo stuff. Great Halo encounters feel somewhat like puzzles but with some room for improvisation and luck. I remember many instances of that during a Legendary co-op playthrough of Halo 2. Best memories! All I've seen of Destiny's tougher encounters is a giant clusterfuck.
  12. Yeah, going through it now, it's got some valid points, but I'd say only if you're nitpicking. At times, he's just trying to guess the 'authorial intent' which is always a hard sell.
  13. I recall the office building stuff. Is that first encounter with the clicker where you drop down onto a lower level bit and it first gives you the 'immediate 180 degree' run away control prompt if you get spotted? If it's that one, I don't recall dying there, but I do recall a lot of running away to 'reset' things. As for Uncharted 3, I'm with Ethan. Just too many bullet sponges. Sometimes, the combat setup works (but is still tough) like the open ship graveyard thing. But otherwise, I have three words: THAT. FUCKING. SHIP.
  14. Honestly, I think I prefer S2 to S1. I mean, both are fantastic, but I think the writing/plotting is generally a lot stronger. There were moments in the latest episode where it was committing the sin of repeating things twice, and some of the same beats from S1 have appeared, but I find the actual character dynamics and interactions far better. Even if there is that illusion of choice, it's all supported by a longer view of the story and I find it impacts me more. More people are given a chance to shine, or are 'fleshed out' (lol) before 'exiting' the story. Gonna start reading through that recap now, but to address those first two points, Connorrrr. So, yeah, I totally disagree with that assessment so far and really enjoyed the episode. My nerves are shredded to shit, too.
  15. This album is great. And now it's available for free. Get on it. https://theupgrades.bandcamp.com/album/take-a-risk
  16. After playing the Destiny beta, I like how you don't have to worry about selling all your shit. Most of the time there's that disappointing feeling of having your awesome sword of bastardry becoming redundant alongside the awesome sword of magnificent bastardry and then you go and sell it for 2 gold. Destiny is just, like, fuck it, go into the menu, dismantle it and get some gold that way. No worry about 'marking' it so you know which of the many identical icons to sell. No extra menus to go through. No 'sending a pet to town to sell everything'. You just find the thing you don't want and get rid of it.
  17. Can't say I've experienced that, but there were occasions where it opened itself without me pressing anything, usually a fair while after I'd logged out and everything, too.
