Friend of mine just won an Xbone from the Every 2 Minutes promotion. Seeing as XBL has been how we "hang out" since he moved out of state, I'm probably going to end up with one this gen. Still want my ps4 first.

SAGA is effing great. I'm glad its seemingly picking up steam beyond the praise because I'd hate to see it cancelled. Only 2 issues in, but SEX CRIMINALS has been pretty good so far.

the sony actually has an ir repeater that relays the signal to the tv in the event its blocking the tvs receiver.

I'm waiting on AC4 until I get a next gen system (read: PS4). Killzone looks pretty good. I don't really blow through games lately so those two would probably keep me occupied in that area until about March. If not there's a game here and there that I haven't gotten yet that are on PS4 as well.

nearest walmart (of soon to be 4.. why we need 4 effing walmarts idk) says they are already showing more in their warehouse so hopefully early next week they'll have more. If I catch it in time. I remember the day after the Wii U launched I saw like 10 of them at a Target just sitting. I guess it won't be the same for the PS4 / Xbone....

It could easily be the same for Xbone.
I don't know for sure about your Walmart, but mine said that they won't be getting another shipment in until Black Friday.

Hey, I think yours is also a newer release than mine. Also, mine was CNet and PC Mag's Editors choice and best choice in that price range at the time I'll-have-you-know. Mine is running through optical audio and like you mentioned, it obviously lacks in comparison to a 5.1 -- especially with movie scenes intended to show off high end sound systems -- it does a great job of filling the room and sounds Pretty Damn Good. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2418664,00.asp

I'm looking at around $2,000 so far. Which is down from the $6,000+ my first kid cost. But that's before this one's surgeries over the next year and a half. #TeamSinglePayer

while neither is preferable, I'd much rather have an issue like the faulty HDMI, which is obviously immediately, rather than a defect that basically turns your console into a time bomb that may or may not go off before your warranty is up (360 RRoD)

I didn't see you ask? the sound is actually pretty good, and it does a pretty good job of simulating surround sound, but I'm not sure if its that its a mid / entry level sound bar, or just all sound bars in general, you can definitely tell a difference between that and real surround sound. Audiophiles, especially picky ones, may not like it. I like that this one came with Bluetooth. I can wirelessly sync my music device of choice to it and play music that way without the tether of an audio in cable. While we were waiting on cable to be connected I streamed hulu and netflix on my phone and had the audio going through it. Faked my wife out enough she came in to see how I was watching tv with no cable. All in all any loss of quality (surround soundiness?) is negated by the savings of space and cleanliness of no wires.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HTCT260H-Sound-Wireless-Subwoofer/dp/B00E3AKF1C/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384417611&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+ct260 We just bought this sound bar a few months ago when we moved. 5.1 is stored downstairs for right now, fewer wires and speakers for toddler and kids to mess with this way. Also the sub is enclosed so there's no air tunnel to allow children to hide toys inside it. Yes that is a problem when you have kids. sigh. Plus our surround sound system is an older one with a HUGE 5 disc dvd changer, so this freed up a lot of room on our entertainment console.

You could probably jack the drive out of your PS3 and stick it in the PS4. but I'm going to keep my PS3, may want to go back and play some of those games.

Whenever I pick one up I plan on upgrading the HDD day one, or pretty damn close. pretty sad if my ps3 has a larger hdd than my ps4
