  1. Sure. Also, better to start from scratch with a ton of new players around than to be maxed out in a barren wasteland of a game.
  2. Well, that's a surprising turn of events, though I've seen the Jimquisition video explaining how's the transition going for long-time players and, well, sucks for them. I've tried out the game today. It's okay, I guess. I don't know since I don't have a lot of experience with multiplayer shooters, let alone asymmetrical ones. But this one kept me going and I think I'll stick around for a while, see how things will turn out when the beta is over. They'll probably pull up some paywalls later on, that's for sure.
  3. If you're digging the OST I'd recommend giving any of Percival's album a spin. Here's a full playlist for Slava: CLICK Some of those tracks were actually written into the game's soundtrack, so it's a great listen if you like the music from the game. I've also finished Blood and Wine recently. Man, what a trip. I'm having a serious case of post-game blues, kind of like when I was done with Mass Effect series. Kind of sad that there won't be any more Witcher games but given how amazing the third one was, I'm also excited for any future CDPR projects. Please, please, let it be that cyberpunk game... I haven't played that much with the other factions but wasn't the Northern Kingdoms deck the only one larded with spy cards? That's the only reason I was using this deck because it was impossible to lose once you've been dealt a hand with about 4-5 spies. The thing about the game being weighted is spot-on, though not always in your favor and sometimes it's the AI that's simply cheating or acting stupid. It's evidenced the most in tournament quests. Case in point: in the tournament from the main game I've been always dealt a suspiciously weak hand (I must have been really lucky to get any of the special cards), while in Blood and Wine's Gwent tournament, when playing against the final opponent, he simply petered out of the game in the last round to let me win, even though he had a clear advantage.
  4. They should've made this game years ago instead of churning out new Battlefield sequels/expansions. While overall fine title on par with the original (at least, as long as you stick to the main storyline), I found the open world aspect lackluster. I like running around in open-ended environments but the side missions range from dull to annoying... ...mostly because of this. I don't know, it might have been interesting if they'd put it in the first game, back when we haven't been worn out by countless Ubisoft open world games and their derivatives, but today it's nothing special. Also, what happened to the music? It was kind of dull, to be honest. I remember that the soundtrack in the first game was catchy and intense, really driving the action, while here it borders between sleep-inducing ambient and very few beat-driven tunes. Meh, I should've bought Overwatch instead.
  5. Standard enemies didn't make much problem, sometimes they were numerous but overall nothing I couldn't handle. Boss monsters were a bitch, though. I've defeated the last one just because it glitched out. My whole team died and I was left with a mage so I slowly drained his health from a distance with spells while he was standing there doing nothing. Pretty terrible.
  6. So far I've played The Descent. Not too bad, it was nice to explore a more open ended version of Deep Roads and it's ancient mysteries. But the most entertaining part is the new Dwarf character voiced by David Hayter, which is hilarious because suddenly you feel like you're playing Dragon Age Solid, featuring Dwarven Snake.
  7. Gameplay pro tip: start an operation, alt-tab to desktop and move your system time forward. Works every time. By the way, none of it makes any difference anyway, even the loyalty missions. The game's basically a one giant time sink with no payoff, so... I'm hung up on WItcher 3 again. After Hearts of Stone (which was fantastic, CDPR has once again shown how much creativity they can put into their quests and storylines) I'm having another stab at the campaign, this time trying out the New Game+ mode. I just hope I'll have enough time to finish it before Fallout 4 comes out.
  8. There's a lot of games with cut content and no, this wasn't always a thing. Back in the day any additional content for the game was developed way after the initial release, usually only when said game had a huge success and the expansion packs were more like a separate game. Nowadays bonus content is being shoved down our throats for additional buck even before the actual game is released. Remember Evolve? What a shitty business practice that was. Incidentally, I wonder how that game performed. And I'm with you on that, but there's one solution that you can reasonably follow (assuming you're not interested in starting a revolution over this) - have none of this bullshit. I'm more than happy to give my money to someone like CDProjekt for their efforts with the Witcher franchise, but when it comes to any other companies and their shady business practices, no thanks, I'll keep my dosh.
  9. Yeah, the gameplay itself is actually pretty great, which is why I spent most of my time on exploration, mainly enjoying the sights and flying physics (with some shooting in between when I got back from expeditions, usually with a couple of milion credits to cash in from Universal Cartography). I even got my name on some of the planets. But all gets repetitive eventually and it's a kiss of death for this game. Some random events during the exploration would be nice, for example. Like some spatial anomalies or whatever, just give me something, not just a routine of jumping into the system, scanning and jumping out to the next one. After a while I felt like a factory worker, punching red button for 12 hours straight. Now that you've mention, I've lost track of what's going on with Star Citizen. Last I heard Derek Smart was trying to stir up some shit about it but I've largely ignored it because, well, Derek Smart. The biggest hope I have for this one lies in the single player campaign. I'm dying for a space sim like Wing Commander - linear structure, epic stroyline, great cast of characters. I've heard they have some big names on the list already but I know nothing about the game itself.
  10. And here I thought there's no way these new consoles had any shot at success. If these numbers are true, then I have no more sympathy for the idiot consumer base, who is willing to be suckered in. At this point there's no way there will be anything even remotely resembling another industry crash, but everything that's bad about it will grow bigger as long as there are people who can't resist the urge to waste their cash on minor, contrived shit they don't really need.
  11. More stuff is always good, but I was seriously bummed by the news about paid DLC featuring planetary landings. I wouldn't mind actually payng for the thing, since it brings a pretty significant addition to the overall gameplay, but holy mother of fuck why does it have to be so expensive? Yeah, new players will get the full package for the same price I gave for the base game, but I'm the one who will have to shell out another 40 quid for the expansion. Not to mention that planetary landings won't even be a full-on feature. From what I've learned you'll only be able to land on barren asteroids or moons, Mass Effect-style. Probably with barely anything to do, much like in the base game. More planet types will be featured in further DLCs - sold separately, of course. No thanks, I think I'll pass on this one, probably done with the game too. After 100+ hours of flying around I think I've seen all it has to offer and if I have to sell my kidney to be able to afford lifetime season pass and enjoy all features of the game (assuming they'll eventually arrive) then I have three words for you, Frontier: kiss my ass.
  12. There are two types of companion quests. Main, which will appear as you progress through story missions - basicaly something like in Mass Effect 2, where you recruit someone and after a while he/she will let you know something needs done when you chat them up at Skyhold. And second is basically fetching shit for them, but that doesn't have any impact beyond the useless influence points and some companions don't have this type of quest at all. Regardless, it's a good idea to have a companion around when you're collecting something they requested - you'll gain more approval. You can also count the romance quests, but that depends on who you'll want to bang. Varric's war table-thing is unique for him, as far as I know. I guess Dorian and Cole also have something similar but with less stages.
  13. To my knowledge, you don't have to do anything except what is required of you to move on with the main story. Nothing you do in sidequests affects the main plot of the game. I guess you can do some companion quests, since every major character is actually pretty interesting, but again - no impact on the plot or finale whatsoever. When I did second playthrough I never touched anything except the main story missions and everything played out exactly the same as before. Some companions got different looking cards on the party selection screen, but what did that mean - fuck if I know. I guess they got a little sad. I liked the exploration and discovering new, interesting things about different areas, but once I realised that everything I do makes pretty much zero impact on anything - not just the main story, but also the rest of the world - well, it was very disappointing.
  14. Played it for about 12 hours and got bored. Probably never gonna touch it again. Gameplay shines the most when you're in a car, but sadly about 40% of the time you're gonna be on foot, doing shallow and repetitive version of Arkham combat and wandering around enemy bases. The most disappointing thing about it is that there's barely any story to go with so I don't really feel the incentive to at least finish the "storyline" missions. The gist of it is that you're Max and you need to build a new car to reach someplace called Plains of Silence. End of story. Now go and collect shit for about 30 hours. I like the way game looks and there's a bunch of small details that make it really enjoyable, but honestly, last time I felt so uninterested in finishing a videogame was when I had to load games from cassette tapes on Commodore 64. And it is kind of like that - just fire it up when you have an hour to blow off without having to get too invested in it.
  15. Well, they don't seem to have any pee pee so you might be on to something. Just finished the game. I need a drink...
  16. Yes, it takes a little while but eventually he will start to hound you on regular basis in completely non-scripted way. Once he's set up as a main threat in the game he will simply wander around the levels, moving through vents, occasionally dropping in if you'll draw too much attention (mostly running around making noise). Incidentally, first bit of advice - be quiet at all times and avoid any physical confrontation with anything. You won't regret it later in the game when the real shit goes down and resources are vital to your survival. As for me, I've put on a diaper and got through most of the game after all.
  17. I think I'm going to tap out of this one. Not sure how far into the game I am (something like two or three chapters after the flashback segment) but just thinking about starting it up again makes me nervous. Funny, for all those horror games I've played over the years, it's the good old Xenomorph that finally made me feel like a big vagina.
  18. While patiently waiting for FO4 I went back to New Vegas since I never got around to playing any of the DLC. So far so good, though I find it a bit annoying that each one of these DLCs start off with someone talking my ear off for 30 minutes before sending me off to do some fetching for them.
  19. It's done. I've finished the game. Man, these things are always tough to part with. I feel like going on another year-long binge, where I won't play anything but the Witcher series until I'm finally done with it (last time it was the Mass Effect trilogy). So. Instead of pointing out every little detail that I thought was good or bad (because honestly - anoyone who played the game figured this shit out already), I'm just going to say that this is literally the best RPG I've ever played. I wish that all of the plot threads were neatly tied up but what the hell - most important things got closure and it was a really nice, satisfying ending. There was some crazy shit going on during the last battle, every major character arc was resolved and generally I had a big, shit-eating grin on my face troughout the whole thing. I only wish I was more responsible with the romance options because in the end Triss and Yen both dumped my stupid ass and now I am forever alone. Well, at least it adds more depth to characters and story to have this option, it was amusing in a way. I mean, I wouldn't mind having "two chicks at the same time, man", but I suppose even the Witcher power fantasy isn't going to fulfill my million-dollar dream. Fuck. Anyway, I'm having some post-game blues so I'd welcome any conversation about the game and its ending right now. Damn, how I wish I could have another drink with Lambert and Eskel...
  20. Right now I'm at level 30-31. Is that too much or "just right"? Don't wanna go into that final battle overpowered so that I won't make the final dude look like a wuss.
  21. First thought - Firefly. If they are actually wanna go for that whole frontier worlds/wild west feeling from the show it may be interesting.
  22. You're probably right. A shame. Not that I wanted to hack him up, but it sure would be a majestic sight.
  23. I've been on a binge the whole weekend and I'm something like 30-40 hours in. Gotta say, this game gave me a raging boner. If it won't loose it's steam later on, or won't pull a Dragon Age Inquisition on me with some shitty, lackluster ending, then this is my game of the year. No contest. It's been a long time since game managed to draw me in to the point where I was literally screaming at my TV, not to mention the goosebumps, which also occured during gameplay and not just due to an awesome cutscene (although W3 managed to make me look like a plucked chicken for an entire first hour, also with cutscenes). Anyway, going back to my lair now to play the shit out of this game. One question though - has anyone managed to spot a whale in it's entirety? Usually he stucks his ass on the surface only to tease you with it's tail when you get close but I've been chasing after that bastard for hours trying to take a closer look underwater. It seems like the devs are just teasing us though, because the only thing I managed to spot was a mere glimpse of the tail and rear half of the body before it disappeared into the depths.
  24. I can imagine people saying similar things back when cigartettes were considered harmless. I prefer to assume that anything that isn't air shouldn't go into my lungs unless necessary.
  25. Nice, some actual continuity. I remember being disappointed when revisited locations in Dragon Age Inquisition looked nothing like those from Origins. Got the game, btw. Starting my playthrough this afternoon, just a couple more hours 'till I'm off work... *sigh*
