  1. I tried vaping once. Didn't do anything for me and holding the device instead of normal cig felt awkward. I also have some reservations about the fact that chemical compounts found in those liquids are mostly unknown. I mean, back in the day cigarettes were considered healthy until someone bothered to do some research. Speaking of research, I remember reading a paper which said that most of the time actual amount of nicotine is significantly lower than what it says on the label and liquids themselves are packed with bunch of other toxic shit, including various addictives. So yeah, not so healthy after all. I'd say it's best to quit alltogether without trying to pacify the addiction with substitutes.
  2. Just finished Heart of The Swarm, man I'm so pumped up for third and final act of the story. So good. They should make some kind of RPG out of this. Or better yet - an animated movie. That opening cinematic is the coolest shit ever.
  3. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that dude from the trailer speaks, which leads us to believe this will be a first bethesda RPG to feature fully voiced protagonist. Although what's to stop them from having fully voiced man and woman (aside form money)? Inquisition even had two different vice actors per gender.
  4. If only they would realise what a massive waste of time this will turn out to be once the game gets released.
  5. Yep, very cathartic. Though I always try to determine if it's a human player or not because I don't want to knowingly ruin someone's shit. Karma always gets back to bite you in the ass.
  6. Cool, now if I can just get back to SOL to check that out. Only ten hours of trip back left... Yay. Hey, guess what, by the way. Somewhere in deepo space I met this guy who was piloting a cargo ship. Not sure if he was an NPC or human player but because he wasn't responding to my hails and had a really weird escort of two really weak fighters, I shot all of them down. They were not carrying anything. I wonder what that was all about, can you meet NPCs that far out in space? Because if not, I must have really ruined this guy's day.
  7. Got it cheap, thankfully. I can always imagine that some of the people I murder are the developers so that's something, I guess.
  8. I'm not actually playing it because after about an hour and a half I got bored of it, but yeah - Hatred. Another mediocre game that rides solely on its pre-release controversy. Putting aside the incredibly retarded premise and main character who's been listening to too much Slipknot and eating gravel with sulphuric acid for breakfast, the game is very mediocre. It runs like shit, gameplay is repetitive, graphics gray and boring, and controls are some of the worst I've seen in a top-down shooter. A pity, because the destruction physics are pretty neat and I wouldn't mind having a modern Postal clone. If only it wasn't taking itself so seriously, coming off as some kind of Goth Power Fantasy Simulator in the process.

    Help!

I had the same problem but I got around it by visiting the forum via phone's web browser. Website then asked me to open itself in taptalk and voila, its on the list in taptalk now.
  10. Opinions about art in Fallout 3 were always divided, I guess. I remember when first going into this game I knew very little about it (or about Fallout franchise for that matter), so when I first stuck my head out of Vault 101 I was stunned by the dreary post apocalyptic scenery and it got me hooked immediately. Sure, brownish-green eventually gets old but for me that moment came only after about 150 hours of gameplay and for building a proper atmosphere I think it worked very well. Anyway, good point about id Software. They might as well have used the idTech 5 because this engine seems tailor-made for open world games, as evidenced by Rage. Maybe devs at BGS can't be buggered to learn new tools and prefer to stick with something they tinkered with for years. Also, as you've already mentioned - mod support. To be honest, my first thought about the trailer wasn't "hmm, these graphics look like crap" but "holy fuck this is awesome - like Fallout 3 but bigger, beeter and more handsome", so yeah I dunno man. We'll see when more material gets released, but so far I'm really positive about this game.
  11. Well, CDPR is no longer that small, as far as I know. We're talking about a multi-national staff of hundreds of people here. I remember that bethesda rpgs never were that good when it came to tech standing behind them. All their games looked good because the art was great, but engine always had it's quirks, like stiff animations, very plastic looking shaders or character models straight from the uncanny valley. Maybe it's time to get a new engine, but I really won't mind if the graphics aren't "as good as witcher 3, omg", as long as art design will be as good as always and characters don't animate like someone rammed a pole up their ass.
  12. I just hope they'll include the double barrel shotgun. It's like a shotgun but with two barrels.
  13. The game looks pretty good to me, more vivid colors seem like a nice change. It's obvious they use the same old engine, but compared to Fallout 3/NV (or even Skyrim for that matter) the level of detail and animations are miles ahead. Anyway, I'm friggin' hyped, give me this game now! Hard to say but, the other narrator also kind of sounds like Perlman (or is it the same guy, only his voice shifts from radio to clean narration?)
  14. Having finally finished the game yesterday I gotta say, it's pretty damn good. Bioware definately atoned for all the sins commited in DA2, but holy shit is did that ending sucked or what? Also, was this actually named GOTY? 2014 must have been a really shitty year for gaming.
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72RqpItxd8M If you dig Far Cry Blood Dragon and all it's shenanigans I guess this is the movie version of the same 80's parody-thing. Oh and here's a video for the obligatory 80's movie song performed by The Hoff himself: Pretty hilarious, both movie and the song.
  16. Okay I've checked. And good thing I did because you lose exploration data as well. I guess you don't lose either bounties or data only if you get shot down.
  17. In a game that's mostly about fucking around in sandbox it's hard to put things in any context But I'm okay with that as long as there are actual things to do, yet in it's currents state the game hardly fulfills that requirement. I guess I'm gonna go back and get myself a frameshift drive that is able to do more long-distance jumps. That way maybe I'll get faster to where I need to go. Do you happen to know if self-destructing now would erase all the astronomical data I've gathered? I wouldn't want to lose it since I've stumbled on a handful of water worlds and even one of the terrestial planets so there's a lot of money at stake here.
  18. It's been almost two weeks already and it feels like I barely left home. At this point I'm pondering whether or not I should auto-destruct, spawn back at the nearest station, cash in all the data I've gathered and fuck the whole exploration business. Pretty disappointing to find out that outside that small pill of space around Sol there's just one big pile of nothing. Why would anyone need such a vast place to explore if it's completely devoid of content? I'm curious about upcoming No Man's Sky for that reason. Everyone I know is excited for that game but if in this case procedurally genereated world will also mean having a lot of vacant space to explore then it's going to be really fucking boring.
  19. I'm going to see it this weekend. Very hyped by the reviews, but all I really needed to know is that somewhere in the movie there's a vehicle with gigantic speaker set and dude who's blasting metal with flamethrowing guitar. That sounds so awesome I'm having a boner just thinking about it. Also, does anybody remember Tom Hardy from that one Star Trek movie?
  20. Not sure if it was mentioned before and I don't wanna shuffle the whole thread since handling the forum from android phone is horrible. Anyway. Lame graphical effects. Like every other stupid thing that developers need to ape whenever some game makes it popular, unnecessary and misused graphical effects were spreading through gaming world like a bad disease for as long as I can remember. One of the most prominent examples of this came with the dawn of pixel shader generation and it was the ubiquitous motion blur effect, popularised by NFS Underground. After that it was used almost everywhere, regardless of wether it fit the visual style or not. Nowadays I'm noticing a rising trend in using that chromatic aberration-thing, which looked cool in Alien: Isolation, because it complimented the oveall retro look, but what's the point of using that shit in, say, Witcher 3? A game that has NOTHING to do with retro-futuristic setting or CRT monitors, which were known to produce this optical glitch (hence its use in A:I). Not to mention that this fucking thing makes my eyes hurt and is causing me to get a headache. Thank God you can turn it off in most games, otherwise I'd be going apeshit.
  21. Playing it with gamepad is always a good option, works pretty well, or at least it was in Witcher 2. The only problem was the camera during combat, which rarely fixed itself in a comfortable position and fiddling with the analog stick wasn't the option when you had to mash attack buttons. I do hope that they fixed that in Witcher 3.
  22. It was while I was playing a scene in FF7, in which the girly man child of a hero got gangraped in jacuzzi by a bunch of burly men, when I realised I need to stop immediately and do something better with my life. But seriously, I guess FF9 was nice enough. A quaint fairy tale, not some homoerotic angsty crap. What's so good about this series anyway?
  23. I was a little put-off by Yen's casual remark about it being nothing serious or whatever, but I guess that's her character... I'm starting to warm to Keira too... Did you read any of the books? It's important to remember that she's like that towards Geralt because he's a giant douche himself. There's a lot of backstory which makes relationship between the two much deeper and complex. From what you'e saying they didn't made that very clear in the game. *sigh* And holy shit, Keira's in this game? Can you pound her too?
  24. Hell no - Yennefer for sure. Total bitch, but what a squeeze...
  25. Yeah I guess the only thing they have reduced are shaders, because everything else looks pretty good. I've seen it in action today and one thing I can say that while yes, graphics are more on par with WItcher 2, the game looks a million times better in motion than on screenshots. I guess it's because of the animations, which are amazing. I love how everything sways on the wind, or how fluid the character movements are, especially compared to Witcher 2. Little touches also add to the overal experience: fog, physics, fauna, etc. Christ, now I want to play it even more than before.
