  1. Now I'm curious. 90's Star Wars game with underwater level/section? The only one I can think of now is KOTOR, but that was in 2003.
  2. It's a village. A whole commune (or what do you call it in english?) of villages, actually. It's in Świętokrzystkie Mountains and Tumlin-Podgród is a popular ski resort, from what I heard. Cool, you can now go there and say to the locals: "oh it's so nice of you to name a whole commune after me, thank you!"
  3. Pretty much describes my relationship with this game, only the 'fuck this shit, it's wasting my time' phases come back on a regular basis, but I can't quit since I've made so much progress already. It's a difficult thing, you hate it to the bone, but love every second of it at the same time. That's some Freudian shit right there.
  4. Sure man, that sounds great! Yeah, I expect to spend my first ten or so hours on figuring out the game before embarking on my epic quest, but what worries me the most is that I will require decent hardware on board first, just in case some dickhead decides my ass looks like a bullseye. And that, I think, will take a whole lot more time.
  5. It's been a long time coming but I finally got it today. Alas, I bid adieu to all other games I own because right now my only goal is to reach the galactic core and leave a stream of golden shower there. A worthy effort. After that, I guess I'll have to wait and see...
  6. I think gaming physics simply need to evolve enough to look believable, just like any other graphical feature did over the years. So far it's not quite there yet, but GTA IV and V did it quite well. I don't understand why most games have corpses that are weightless and therefore look stupid (like in dead space, for example). I doubt that was beyond hardware or engine capabilities.
  7. Hmm... Not sure if you're trolling or not. I think Hitler was right. Oh, sorry. Wrong thread for that. Let's see... I like Duke Nukem Forever. Look past the whole bullshit surrounding it and it's a pretty entertaining FPS. From 2004. Then again, I play a lot of bad shooters, guess I'm a sucker for this genre.
  8. Legit Polish. I can almost hear "kurwa!" coming from your mouth on this picture. So what's your last name, then, if you don't mind me asking?
  9. There can be only one General British (also known as Lord British).
  10. Do you guys keep your own backlog or do you use websites like howlongtobeat for that? On topic, one of the recent playthroughs I did was combo: Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy, pretty much fuelled by the hype for the next Star Wars movie. Though I feel like the former is a far more compelling experience, gameplay of the latter still manages to be amazing. It's also impressive how good they look after all these years. I long for another Jedi Knight game, but please, game developers, reproduce this specific combat system and do not ape god of war again, please. Alas, the brand is in EA's hands now, so I guess we're shit out of luck.
  11. Is it just me, or do most of you look very british? Or maybe I'm just not used to foreigners, I'm a racist pollack, after all.
  12. Here you go again with your hyperbole. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to mention The Bureau in the same sentence as the words "gaming history". It's a decent but very derivative tactical third-person shooter with a neat twist. The problem is the twist is pretty much the only memorable thing about it. I seriously doubt it's going to remembered by many ten years from now.
  13. Yeah, totally. In Alien Isolation that filter fit perfectly, because it gave it an extra-retro look, like it was displayed on actual CRT monitor. Though I'm gonna be one of those people and say that sometimes effects like these are unnecessary and are put in the game solely because they are a novelty. For example, I don't think fantasy games, like Lords of The Fallen or Bloodborne needed the same chromatic-whatever effect, because what's the purpose? On the other hand, it's not something worth making a big fuss about, so yeah, whatever. As long as they don't put some technicolor disco vomit on the screen, I'm good with such novelties. Anyway, don't worry, Human Revolution didn't lost it's touch because of that grapical change. It was simply toned down a bit, but it's still there. From what you can hear in one of the creators's commentaries scattered around the levels (another good reason to play Director's Cut, by the way), this was a very important part of visual design, so I guess they wouldn't get rid of it completely. As for the other graphical improvements: I think character models are slightly better and you can spot some new textures here and there, but most of the work was put into lightning engine and colors, giving the game more natural look and better contrast in lot of areas, which in the vanilla game were soaked in that orange tint. Some shaders also seemed to look better, but I'd have to check out the original to make sure about that. Overall, graphics in DC are much more sharp and polished.
  14. From what I remember Human Revolution didn't look so hot even at launch. Shame you went with vanilla game, because I've also just finished the Director's Cut and I think it they smoothed out some rough edges here and there. I was worried when they announced that they will tone down the orange tint, since it made half of HR's atmosphere, but it actually looks better now. Yeah, I also thought about the absence of any satisfying conspiracy theory when playing HR, because right before I started playing it I've finished DX1 first. Though to be honest, if they would have went full retard with them in HR (I mean the aliens, the MiBs, chupacabras and all that jazz) I don't think it would fit with the overall tone, which was more dramatic and character driven than the first game. On an urelated note - when I was playing DX1 now, I felt like part of its charm came from the sheer insanity of the plot and late 90's-early 2000's pop culture references that you bump into every two seconds. Aside of course from the awesome soundtrack. Oh the nostalgia...
  15. I've just read a plot summary on wikipedia and I gotta say, I'm pretty confused now. Turns out that the game has multiple endings. No I gotta play it again, because it looks like the ending I got was shit. But yeah, it was a pretty unique idea for a twist, sure. Imagine if someone would have used it to break the fourth wall - now that would have been fantastic.
  16. I had a chance to try out the PS4 version and from what I saw street traffic isn't any thicker, so yeah, bummer. Though it's still waaaay better than IV. I'm playing it right now and having a vivid memory of simply strolling down the busy street in Los Santos and losing myself in the multi layered soundscape, Liberty City feels awfuly vacant in comparison. Anyways, from what I've heard the PC version is nothing like that distatrous launch of IV for PC, which brings a large, shit eating grin to my face, because as soon as I'm finished with IV and it's DLCs, I'm gonna wrap my greasy palms around five immediately. I've already finished it when it first came out for PS3, but that gets me even more excited to see new content and try out the FPP camera.
  17. Could you elaborate on that? I'm curious, because I found the ending to be such a cheap cop out I was really disenchanted after spending 15-or-so hours with it. I mean:
  18. New album got released about a week ago and I'm happy to say it's actually better than the last one.
  19. Well, what do you know, I've finished both Deus Ex and Human Revolution literally a week ago, and now they are releasing a trailer for the new one. Coincidence? I don't think so... I'm hyped as shit. From what you can see in the credits at the end of trailer, same team from HR is working on it, so I guess it's safe to assume that there won't be any drop in quality. Also, I like how Jensen finally got it and went from never asking for this to embracing what he'd become. I certainly hope so, because one of the best things about HR was the fact that you could choose to play it as Rambo or as Solid Snake and at no point either of these choices were favoured by the level design. It was just perfect. Sure, giving wedgies to enemies without being spotted tended to be more tense, but blasting away from double barrel or sniper rifle was also fun as hell, plus those weapon animations were sweet. If I may throw in my 3 cents - I think it was really bland, actually. Controls are solid, I guess, hand animations were very nice to look at and I liked the attention to detail, but holy crap were those levels linear and boring or what? I think there are only two that I can remember - the whorehouse and the asylum. Rest of them sort of blur in my memory into one giant lump of gray rocks and rotten wood. AI didn't help either. I guess it's hard for me to get immersed when enemy actions and animations remind me of early Hitman games (in other words: they are incredibly stupid). And I'm not one of those haters who bash the game because it doesn't live up to the legacy or whatever. I never actually finished any of the previous Thiefs. I just think that the new one was mediocre at best and it's only redeeming quality was its production vaules.
  20. Playing Dark Souls brought me the meaning of real pain (in the ass), when I was putting my keyboard back together, key by key, after a particularly heated gaming session. Bloodborne makes me want to punch that keyboard again, because right now I'm pissed that I didn't get PS4 instead of new PC rig. I mean, fuck, this game is THE shit! Too bad it will never be released on other platforms.
  21. Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know Revelations 1 was bad. Are you serious? At least it felt like a proper Resident Evil game and had some survival horror cred. Sure, because it was originally a DS title I wasn't as critical towards it, because I knew the limitations could be attributed to it being released for handheld, but even so, it was still impressive that a handheld spin off was way more fun and interesting than it's big budget brother - Resident Evil 6. I don't give a shit about production vaules, just because they shelled out more money to make this game doesn't automatically make it better, dude. Don't know about Rev2, because I didn't play it yet, but I had to throw in my three cents because of those Rev1 comment. Though I agree, comparing any of this to Silent Hill 3 or Last of Us is rather far-fetched.
  22. Rise of The Triad 2013 That game is fucked. I love it.
  23. Which also blow ass if abused. There are good season passes and bad season passes. Evolve is in the latter camp. Thanks for the input, but I already wrote that in my first post of this discussion. Another example that you don't even bother to read anything carefully. And since this is going nowhere anyway, I'm done here. Auf wiedersehen.
