      Heh, it was that google commercial. The Nexus S, I believe. Awful commercial. Not a bad concept, but shit narration and timing. Awful direction.

    Read them all three times. DwD can't drop soon enough. I like the show. It's a great visual imagining of the books' world. Disappointed that some of it has to be smaller scale (especially re: the Dothraki hordes and Vaes Dothrak), but I think the characters are all done well. Lena Headey isn't as beautiful as Cersei is supposed to be, but she nails the bitchiness. The whole cast is pretty awesome, and I wonder how all these actors with what are currently bit parts will handle their much larger roles in future seasons. Brynden Tully might be combined with Edmure for the show, which makes me sadface. GRRM has said elsewhere that Renly and Loras are gay and if either were a POV character it would be immediately obvious. HBO just makes it explicit. I'm pretty certain the Howland Reed will be important because only he and Ned survived the encounter at the Tower of Joy. Although it should be obvious what they were guarding, as it doesn't make sense for three of the Kinsguard to defend Lyanna's captivity after the kingdom had fallen to Ned and Robert unless, well, that would head into spoiler territory.

    Thats 5 and a fourth foot. Nice try trolling though GOH. Depends on what definition of cubit one uses. I use a cubit that is the length of one's arm to the tip of the longest finger. That's about 7 palms, or 28 digits. Probably a little more. My hands measurement might be easier to convert from, though, for those not familiar with more elegant systems of measurement.

      I expected just as much. With any luck, it won't take away from patching any problems the PC version still has and they better not do a 360 and start charging for the DLC.

    I think most mainstream consolized games probably shouldn't need much in the manual department. But if you insist that more complex strategy games have inherently bad design because the manuals are indispensable, well, you're wrong. Some folks like complex games that aren't half tutorial. This 'manual' may take the form of in-game help or a virtual manual like, say, the Civlopedia in Civ games.

      The idea is that 360 sales are slowing and such an app would both bring in revenue and give the platform a larger install base.

      I don't think you heard it cos I don't tend to pass on generally obvious rumours. I heard it a few weeks back n easily dismissed it. Modern PC's struggle to run PS2, 360 would not be easy. It's PowerPC, Win8 is X86 n ARM.

      Dean, the only reason the PC struggles with PS2 emulators is because it has to be optimized game-by-game. If Sony were to, for some reason, publish an official emulator for the PS2, it would work without problems (if the job was done properly, ofc). The PSX was emulated successfully during its lifespan, and the gap between PC and console power is much greater now than it was then.

The last fighting game I played for any length of time was Killer Instinct, so I'd probably sit out the discussion of fighting games, unless you want someone to make snide and sarcastic comments about them.
