  1. Actually, given his personality, if coke had replied with: "Kid, quit riding my nuts cuz I'm better than you" he probably would've sent a friend request.
  2. I wouldn't really give the Genesis sound chip credit, there. If anything, it limited Tomoko Sasaki from making something truly spectacular.
  3. I would've responded with some "get better, kid." That would've sent him waaaaaaaay the fuck over the edge. Coke, you need to learn to combo from rage into MORE rage. See, this is why people don't like to play with the guy. If he beats you, he's angry. If you beat him, he's angry, if you're on the same team as him and you win, you've probably cost him ten kills, and he's angry.
  4. I enjoyed seeing the few balance changes in that patch, namely increased rail gun clip size and reduced amount of juice from Tanks deploying in front of LazerBlazers. Looks like we console-side folks'll probably be on the ass end of those changes soon enough, if we aren't already... Also, this gave me pause: Oh dear.
  5. For $15.99 from Amazon with free shipping. Pretty slammin' deal, yo.
  6. The final boss of Okami and the climax of the game made my manly eyes tear up like so Kamiya really knows how to make 'em. Song included so that you can listen and stare at the picture.
  7. fuck yeah itt yuzo koshiro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSHsmnZFwfM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dQVl_XJy7c
  8. In the world of Left 4 Dead, the only people that have jobs are black people. Also, RE5 is racist.
  9. In my case, it's just sheer luck that none of the first-party games I've been interested in (or just don't like) have all appeared on Sony's consoles. It's like divine providence has seen fit to lump them all into one category for easier stereotyping! I like nearly all of Nintendo first-party franchises, I like a few of Microsoft's first-party franchises (Gears, Alan Wake, Halo maybe sorta), and I really only sort of like one of Sony's (Uncharted, even if I still think the first one is better than the second one). People need to stop looking at others' tastes in games and automatically assume that "IF a game is from company 'X,' THEN they don't like it." Could it possibly be that "a game is from company 'X,' AND they don't like it"? Also, I lol'd: Good thing no one did that then. Oh, dear.
  10. Assault is a class that really relies on a good endorsement setup to compete against specific team types.

      Pheermee

oh minty, you know exactly how to turn me on.

  12. I almost linked Children of the Elder God in my post (because it's an original song!), but stuck with the AT2 song instead. Also, my avatar will be wearing this for a very long time: I would also like to add that there are other Square musicians who have made better music than Uematsu, and so I point to the trifecta of Yasunori Mitsuda, Hiroki Kikuta, and (non-Square) Yoshitaka Hirota, who often work together or collaborate on projects, Mitsuda having worked on Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Xenogears, Kikuta having done the Seiken Densetsu series, of which the third game's soundtrack is likely the otaku favorite, and Yoshitaka Hirota, who was Mitsuda's protegé and made the fucking awesome Shadow Hearts soundtracks.
  13. Okay, that's enough MNC for me for one night.
  14. Since the game's started, people have figured out how to play to the Assassin's strengths. Skill recovery assists with survivability vis-à-vis reliance on skills to stay alive. If you're relying on something that could run out at a moment's notice and leave you stranded and uncloaked in the enemy's base (which totes sucks a big one), things need to be changed. It does, however, help the grapple recharge faster, but attempting to assassinate pros is something the Assassin should do sparingly, like picking off the weaker players and those who aren't paying attention when they waltz into your base like they own it. Engaging any heavy class is a big no-no unless they're stationary and firing at a target, and you're cloaked and can line up an entire shuriken clip for a kill. Engaging any pro that can see you or has already seen you is a no-no. If they're in the red and retreating? Go getcha some. These instances are few and far between enough such that you'll normally have a fully-recharged grapple by the time you need to use it again, anyhow. Speed is a decent bronze endorsement if you plan to only kill bots and turrets. The speed helps you gtfo much more efficiently. Remember, natural Assassin runs gold speed, and with the old dash glitch, shit was unreal. You could run 6-second laps around Grenade III using it. Speed's usefulness is tempered by the fact that Dash 3 is so amazing, and arenas aren't huge enough that you'd need the extra speed to get from point A to B as opposed to using smoke bombs and lunge attacks off of higher ground. In the end, speed doesn't matter much in the long run unless you're running a bot combat build and staying in the pit the whole time, then it's sorta useful. Accuracy isn't a bad endorsement to use, because of the huge boost it gives to shuriken launcher usefulness at range. It doesn't do anything for the sword, but does allow you to harass at a greater distance. Given that the Assassin is a low-health close-quarters combat pro, any health endorsements you can give her will give you more of an edge, especially since you'll have Katana, Dash 3, and lunge grapples (and now the newly-buffed face slap) to keep her offensive. And like Bag said, Dash 2 is where you'll be in most matches unless they go on long enough for you to have extra money, then get Dash 3 (and send out lots of Gremlins).
  15. Yeah, I was wondering why people were poasting about MNC during peak MNC hours.... but not playing.
  16. Actually, health recovery may very well be the best option for a bronze slot, but you'll find out why once you try going up against really good players. Skill recovery helps one skill you shouldn't be relying on (smoke bomb), one skill that you shouldn't really upgrade to level 3 anyway (cloak), and one skill which would benefit greatly from skill recovery, except that it recharges insanely fast at level 3 and drains incredibly slowly when in use (dash), so skill recovery, while helpful, is irrelevant to her playstyle. The ability to dash for extended periods of time at level 3 >>>>>>> the ability to recharge cloak while standing still in-cloak. It doesn't matter that they can see you if you're moving too quickly for them to catch up with and kill. Also, this multiple thread thing for MNC is starting to get old real quick.
  17. After Pheer left, FuzzySeal and muhself were left to fend against the same team whose moneyball we raped up the pooper, only we had a random (who quit at the beginning of the match) and splitscreeners on our team. We played on Steel Peel. He went Assault, I went Assassin. Their moneyball went down as an aftereffect of me smokebombing and taking out their right rockit and subsequent bot spawns, and the host (who was clearly playing TDM), and TayTerz and the rest of their team couldn't keep us away from it, especially since I went Assassin and stood on the glass, cloaked, and fired off shurikens to shave a good 40% off of the moneyball and gain enough juice to juice on their moneyball twice. By the time they noticed, it was too late. B) And we had a FAR fucking easier time of it than the match where we turtled into overtime and won by decision. Assassin > Support.
  18. Most of the games on my 3x3 are there for soundtrack reasons, but aside from that, I have a soft spot in my heart for: A: Yuzo Koshiro soundtracks (ActRaiser, Soul Blazer, Streets of Rage, WANGAN MOTHERFUCKING MIDNIGHT, Y's 1-4) B: Noriyuki Iwadare soundtracks (Lunar, Grandia, Gyakuten Saiban III) C: Sonic Team/Wavemaster soundtracks (Ristar, Sonic CD, Chu Chu Rocket, Jet Set Radio) D: Akira Tsuchiya's soundtracks (GUST games, mostly, with the unparalleled Ar Tonelico II soundtrack being the high point) I more or less regard Iwadare's Grandia II soundtrack to be the pinnacle of RPG soundtracks, with Lunar: Eternal Blue close behind, and Akira Tsuchiya's psuedo-ethnic Ar Tonelico II in third place. Ar Tonelico is NUTS.
  19. I've got plenty of games that fit the bill, but I picked the 9 that impressed me the most. Also note that a number of these games do not appear on my top ten, but if I were to pick the games that define me, as a gamer, it would be these 9.
  20. Also, I just ended a match alone by 13:12 with a Tank, and 13:30 with a Support, both using a gold juice endorsement.
  21. Hudson & Bolt probably weren't too happy about the match where they were recording for the contest and I was an assassin and pretty much made it impossible for them to accomplish anything meaningful. They both left after repeated juicings.
