Sackboy is the closest thing Sony has to a mascot, at least for the American and European divisions. I forget which conference it was, but Sackboy was a part of some presentation. Sony knows they have their lil' cute persona, but I also think Sony wants to double-dip with other characters to appeal to multiple groups.

All the more reason we should have more video game soundtracks! It seems that honor is only given to Grand Theft Auto and Halo. The only real video game soundtrack I have is the orchestral Super Smash Bros. Melee soundtrack that came in Nintendo Power.

Everyone remember that indie game bundle where the consumer could pick the price to pay? People could have paid a penny and five games would be given to the consumer. However, people still pirated the blasted thing. Not only was money withheld from developers, but it was for a charity as well. I mean, that's even worse than your typical piracy. I forget the percentile, but it sickens me to think that the number of people experiencing those games doesn't equate to the amount raised for a sincere cause.

Piracy is a form of theft, not in the literal sense because that applies to what you may call the "physical realm." Prepare for analogies, alright? You know how the used games business receives a negative reputation? That it builds upon the work of the video game industry, but keeps its profit in regional business. In a sense, more people are experiencing a game than what the sales show. I'm very sure most of us have copied a CD we've purchased, correct? Would I be wrong to say we gave out copies of that CD as well? It's not like we're going back to the store we purchased the disc from and stealing more, but think of it in this manner. If you and four other friends have the same CD, but only purchased one, the artist (and those associated) are out four sales because your one sale has satisfied the wants of five individuals. Instead of that CD being sold for $15.00, it now has been reduced to a sales point of $3.00. Now, how likely is it that out of those four friends will any of them legally own a copy? I mean, the disc may be silver and say "Memorex," but it contains the same material as the disc on a store shelf. Now you may justify this as a unique experience. Exactly how many others could possibly fit this same scenario? I find that as we advance in technology, the common man is capable of far more illegal behavior online. The conscience is soothed more as you have no physical manifestation of your possession. I'll take a personal example: my roommate's 2TB External Hard-drive. Stored on that device is almost a whole terabyte of DVD rips. From his own mouth, only a handful of those rips are from his own DVDs. The rest are from friends, who (follow me) received it from other friends, and those friends received more from other friends. All along this chain they were ripping their DVDs, going online for pirated copies, illegal theater recordings. The justification: "Well, somewhere along the line someone paid for it." My response: Yes, someone paid for it. Someone. ONE! Now before I'm crucified for my crimes against the Associated Pirates of Entertainment Services, I have done some "pirating." However, I'm under the impression that media unavailable on the current retail market is protected from any law enforcement. I dunno, I'm sure someone will find the legal writing somewhere. Anyway, it was mainly old video games and anime subs. I use to have a modded PSP, so until I reverted back, that was about the extent of my pirating. Well, I guess video game soundtrack rips count as well, but if the music was never compiled into a soundtrack album, I don't think it matters at large. There it is, you can have your way with me you damn dirty APES! EDIT: As far as demoing the game with a pirate copy, as long as you treat it as such, have at it. Thing is, how many people actually adhere to that process? After all, you do have the entire right there. I've found humanity desires laziness, and so I have to wonder what the percentile is for those who back out of the demo behavior.

It's an aged word, but "dillweed" has been coming back. First time I remember it being used was Beavis and Butthead, but years went by before I started to hear it again. I dunno about everyone else, but lately a few people and I have been using "jack." You know, something like, "Man, I'm so jacked up right now..."

I thought I'd put this out here as I thought it was humorous on many levels.

I have the woman just for you, courtesy of Maury. As for me, I use to be afraid of the VCR as a five-year-old because I thought the machine would blow up when it would which the end of the VHS tape. Like, the machine would try to keep playing, gears would grind and KA-BOOM! That was then, and now I would say the only thing I have a phobia (of sorts) to is large crowds. Most of the time I'm just uncomfortable in large crowds. However, when everyone is crowded together, like say an underground dance party, I begin to get nervous and fear if I'm going to ever make it out. Once had two large groups of people squish me and a few others pretty hard. EDIT: Oh, actually when I was a kid I also was afraid of choking. I wasn't use to pills and I thought it was insane to swallow anything you didn't chew. It wasn't until the reality I could die if I didn't take some pills that got me to swallow medication. However, I became conscious of what I would swallow. Now? I practically inhale my food. A couple months ago I almost choked on the driest burger, but I got past it later that night.

Games with no replay value that you keep playing anyway

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I've played it more times than I can remember... I think the last number I can remember is 13. Anyway, while you can go ahead and backtrack for Gold Skulltula Tokens, the real reward (Piece of Heart) only requires 50 tokens. That amount is simple enough to do in a quick run. I mean, getting all 100 earns you Rupees. Sure it's a high amount, but Rupees aren't that big a deal. -
Other M is technically the only linear Metroid game (not sure of Prime Pinball). Zero and Fusion are like Super Metroid in that you are mainly restricted access due to equipment. I say mainly because in Fusion there is a story element, but for the most part it's get to Point B from A by any means. In Other M, there's not much room for personal exploration. Other M is an odd duck; it changes traditional Metroid gameplay elements like the expansions, upgrades, and health. Oh my, the health issue. It's kinda laughable that the primary purpose for the dozens of Navigation rooms littered in the game is to heal yourself. Enemies act like road blocks, in a sense of almost padding the time in your adventure. Still, it's not a bad game, but there are a handful of Metroid games that are superior to it.

Pretty much my opinion as well, especially the "only paid X for it." I got it through Dell for $35, and for a while Best Buy's @Gamer had a coupon for that price. I'd go for a used copy, or if you can get it cheap that would be best. I mean, I think Team Ninja deserves more credit than basically hounding them for small details.

Nah, though eventually there were different colors. My sister got a yellow Game Boy Pocket, which eventually I received due to her casual interest in gaming. She'd play, but it wasn't important to her to own any video games.

Yeah, my first video game device was a Game Boy. I had played both the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo before, but my parents weren't keen on the idea of me owning one at a young age (4-years-old). The biggest influence for me at the time was at an after-school program and this one kid. He was an older kid who'd bring this carrying case with tons of cool Game Boy games. I still remember pestering him to play his Game Boy, and one time I was telling this girl that she wouldn't be allowed to play a Game Boy because it was a Game Boy. It may not have been Super Mario Bros., but it was Super Mario!

If I were to get the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition, I would have to pass on either LittleBigPlanet 2 or Dead Space 2. As such, I think I'll stick to doing one of the pre-order bonus packs at a retailer. Really, check them out! I was thinking about getting the LBP2 Collector's Edition too, but I think the Sackboy plush that comes with it is of the same quality as the ones in GameStop: not good. My shelves are packed with video games, DVD, and Blu-rays so there's no use for those book stands either. I guess that leaves the Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition, but I already have Extraction on Wii. Heck, I don't even have a Move controller, so I doubt that makes it really worth it. But, yeah, the Plasma Cutter will probably convince me otherwise.

Did anyone else think there would be new chapters on the 25th? I just checked out Manga Stream and there they were... Anyway, Kakashi & Co. are screwed out of their minds, what with the entire Seven Swordsmen being resurrected and all. Bleach, well, I kinda want to slam my head against a wall. I can slightly understand where the concept of "everything has a soul" comes from in which warriors' and their weapons have a bond. However, to say everything has a soul? Like, hey, that chair has a soul! Your TV has a soul! I wonder if the toilet has a soul too! It could be a poor idealization that everything can exist in an astral plane, but that's as far as I think you can stretch it.

I'm saddened that I won't get the chance to play Super Meat Boy... Freakin' file size limitation! I seriously haven't spent a dime at the Wii Store in ages. I still have my 400 points from, like, over a year ago!

Kevin Conroy up in here, bitch!

The update was yesterday, but the iPhone/iPod version got the Mighty Eagle feature and a new level! I'll assume that no one knows what the Mighty Eagle is, and so I'll explain. Basically, if you're stuck on a level and you see no chance of ever advancing further in the game, the Mighty Eagle is here to help! For $0.99, you clear a single level flawlessly. I'm not sure what that does to your score, but the Mighty Eagle will wipe out all the pigs no matter the obstacle. EDIT: After reading the news post on Penny Arcade, it seems you'll only pay $0.99 once, but there's a catch. If you want to use the Mighty Eagle again, you'll have to clear the level it was previously used on normally. Not bad, but hopefully you improve your skill because that would be kinda lame to pay to complete only one level. I mean, it has the potential to help you advance anyway else. Demonstration:

Right before I "deleted" my account, the writeup mentioned it would delete that information. Perhaps not every bit of information, as I would expect, but from what I see my profile is still 100%. I guess sometime soon I'll simply email Help and tell them what's what. If nothing happens, then they can keep my posts. Yeah, keep them right up inside their anus!

Downloaded it last night, and it's everything I was expecting. There's more action, but there were definitely some scary moments. What might have helped was my TV's speakers. One moment everything is calm and almost mute, and then it's loud enough to wake the dead! It looks like the weapons they gave you as default really made the difference. I was really thinking I was going to die after those Necromorph kids surrounded me. Oh wait, I have the Line Gun! BAM! I'm still really rusty, and when I was low on health, and I saw the Necromorph at the end, I was like, "Yelp, I'm not gonna make it."

I dunno... in the video, one ninja receives a hole in the face. Didn't laugh, but the same thing happened in Tron Legacy in the air flight. Laughed at that, but I guess you have to be in the right moment, or I dunno. Maybe the gore warning ruined it for me as I was kinda expecting real gore. The Japanese aren't that shy when it comes to brutal deaths.

I'll give you the shaking fake skeleton, that did seem humorous, but...
-
So yeah, I tried the delete account thing. I can't login, but my profile is still around.

Not to offend, but that clip (Machine Girl) was kinda stupid. Sure there was gore, but it was the dumb and unrealistic kind. It's not shocking or funny, just dumb.

A few of the levels really are pure luck. You can know the solution, but it's an act of heaven if that one object reacts how it's suppose too. I can't remember the level, but I spent a fair amount of time repeating the same solution. Thankfully just completing the level got me 3 stars.
