  1. I agree with this. I can't pick favorites. I can do it within specific criteria though. The same applies to music. I don't have a favorite band. I do however, have favorite albums, favorite bands within specific genres, stuff I've listened to the most over time, etc.
  2. http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-QcK-Gaming-Mouse-Black/dp/B000UEZ36W Picked this up and a cheap off-brand FM transmitter for my GF. Cheap enough and decently reviewed enough to take the risk. Puttin' my Prime membership to work.
  3. Can anyone recommend a thin but solid mousepad? Preferably not too big. I know some of them get huge!

Don't know if it's what you want, but you might want to look at the Dell KU170 mousepad. It's a thin pad of rubber, then a sheet of aluminum, and a textured hard plastic decal on top. Works great with optical mice.

Someone posted on reddit they ordered the Jax n Daxter collection and Amazon delivered it to him in 5 1/2 hrs.

  4. Listening to the album version but this live version doesn't sound too bad at 720p. This sounds closer to Owls than a lot of other Joan of Arc albums. I dig it.
  5. No one complains about day 1 patches. I'm making the point that a day 1 patch in itself is proof that they do work between gold and release. Anyways, why do you keep bringing up on-disc DLC? We've talked that over far too much. Most DLC isn't on disc.
  6. Made by a different team, made after it went gold, etc. I think in this case we're actually talking about "content" and not some Capcom-esque palette swaps. Notice how they also have patches on launch, which no one is paying for, yet are still added first day.
  7. How is it exploitative? Why is that word being used at all? Consumers can choose to buy it or not buy it. They don't need it at all. DLC is definitely content that wouldn't make it into the game otherwise. This is due to release schedules and things like that. Obviously, they could just delay the game and include it, but this way they get the game out on time. This makes the publisher happy, and so does the additional revenue from DLC.
  8. Wait, why does the PS3 controller suck for sonic games? I don't remember an intensive use of all 3 buttons. Hahahahah. Wow.
  9. I remember reading on /v/ that Ash Lake wasn't complete and there were other things that were supposed to be in the game/connect but had to be axed due to time constraints.
  10. I swear we've had this convo before...
  11. What if it's DLC of the areas they didn't get to complete/put into the game?
  12. Enjoying some sort of deep/artistic movie or book seems like a chore at first... until you get into the swing of things. The same applies to alcohol. Also, there's more variety in beer than anything else. Just keep trying different things. Also, there's plenty of beer that is not cheap.
  13. Apply this same logic to movies, videogames, and books, and see what sort of low quality shit you end up having to enjoy. Nothing but Call of Duty, Twilight, and uh... Twilight. Also Jack Daniels is terrible for its price. I hate that people order a "jack and coke." Yeah, like you can even notice the difference when you're drinking it with coke.
  14. ^Agreed. It's an action RPG with brutal difficulty and nearly 1:1 combat. Where it was made is irrelevant.
  15. Personally, I think EA has been around for far too long and has too many franchises and studios for that to happen. Worst comes to worse, EA brand goes away, they start calling everything something else. They're too huge. You have absolutely no reasoning or evidence to indicate that things are going downhill for them at all. They've been shutting down servers for years.
  16. "It's a business" is a valid reason for a business to act like a business. If you think they're losing any customers (especially any that they care about) over shutting down a game no one plays then you're sorely mistaken. You know, cuz EA is totally doing terrible and not making any money. I think you're mistaking the vocal minority for your average consumer who doesn't care, doesn't know, and probably wouldn't care if they did know because they've never played the game or they don't care to keep playing it. People like you get pissed off. Don't take it that it means that everyone gets pissed off. "One day they'll piss off enough people that it'll truly affect their bottom line." That is something we'll have to see. https://www.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:EA&fstype=ii They seem to be doing well enough with Project $10 in place. Check 2011s profit.
  17. 25% seems fairly large to me. Especially in terms of money made off of it. Niche in my eyes is much smaller. Under 10%.
  18. Most people aren't informed. Which is why it works. Yes, the cost is going to be small, but it's still a cost. It sucks, but that's business. Anyways, online pass isn't a ploy to get more money out of consumers, it's an attempt to divert the money they're already spending in the publishers direction. It's meant to be anti-used game sales. We never hear numbers on it though, so who knows how effective it is.
  19. DLC is a niche product? What? I think you're trying to apply your life to what everyone else does. Publishers sell less games at $20 than they do at $60. Launch is a big thing.
  20. I haven't bothered with this season, but glad it ended with the appearance of a certain character, which means I'll pick it back up for the 3rd (and catch up with the 2nd right before then.)
  21. "Additional paid content." Anyways, I agree. DLC is just a buzz word.
  22. You know, I wonder if that's actually why they don't use the market...
  23. It's the lack of Android Market support that gets to me. =\
