  1. I will freely admit to liking some things that are bad, despite knowing they're bad. What baffles me is when people claim that bad stories are good. Although it's also possible people are saying "I play it for the story" and I take that as "the story is good" when really they mean "I love the story even though it's terrible".
  2. I think Zelda would threaten Horizon if anyone owned a Wii U. But as pointed out above, no one does.
  3. I don't remember anything supernatural about 6.
  4. I played 6 and liked it and knew nothing of the lore.
  5. Too bad it comes out 3 days before Zelda. I can't think of a single game that would win that fight for me. Luckily for Sony hardly anybody owns a Wii U, and I doubt the Switch will be a massive money-suck either.
  6. The judiciary has always been in a tenuous position really, as is the legislature. They're both in a "how many legions does the Pope have?" position if the executive really wants to push it.
  7. See, it's that second part where Ace Combat's strength lies, not in the ridiculous story.
  8. Apparently over the weekend the ACLU received $24 million in donations. To put that in perspective they typically receive approximately $4 million in donations every year.
  9. I'd call them a one-upper. Sorry to disappoint. I think Seinfeld had a funny term for those people, but I can't remember what it was.
  10. Life is Strange complete first season is on Humble for $5. https://www.humblebundle.com/store/life-is-strange-complete-season
  11. Good video about how people are so obsessed with the edge cases of self-driving cars ("What will it do if confronted with the choice between running over a baby carriage and a box of kittens?!") that they ignore the fact that tens of thousands of people die every year from car crashes caused by human error.
  12. Okay, I get it. It's odd in that it's novel, not that they shouldn't be reacting that way.
  13. They are on Frostbite, though given what little I know about game development I don't see why that would affect the proportions of the models. Aren't models typically created in another program and then imported into the game engine?
  14. How does Trump's election show that the institutions are not strong? And anyway, I'm not saying they won't do long-term damage, just that whatever damage is done will probably not be irreparable.
  15. America has pretty good institutions, so I think we'll probably come through this without it destroying our democracy. That said, it's naive in the extreme to believe that it doesn't pose a threat.
  16. Looks worse than previous games to me. *Edit - Or if not "worse" then at least more strange.
  17. I feel like all their faces look weird, and there's also something odd about their body proportions.
  18. I prefer TP motion controls over standard TP controls. Aiming with the standard controls it's hard to be both precise and fast, but it's easy with the motion controls. So like hitting a moving target from horseback is almost impossible with standard controls, but is trivial with the motion controls.
  19. @TCP: I actually prefer the motion controls on Twilight Princess because they make aiming the arrows so much easier that I think it makes up for being a little bit worse at the swordplay.
  20. I don't understand what you're saying in this post. Why is it odd to see science folks getting riled up about them axing programs and putting gag orders on agencies?
  21. Shit, I just realized that with Trump talking about tariffs on imports now might actually be a good time to buy a Switch...

      Ha! America is fucked.

    2. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

Why? The tariffs will hurt sales and doom the console. Don't buy a DOA Nintendo console, is what I'm saying.

Yeah, let that sinking ship SINK, then we can get Breath of the Wild on the PS4. I will platinum the shit out of that.

  22. The state government will still afford some protection, and they'll be better off than those of us in places with Republican state governments.
  23. I saw an article a while ago that said Dragon Age Inquisition's MP was shutting down, and I went "Dragon Age Inquisition had multiplayer?"
  24. At this point they're pretty limited, but they keep getting better all the time, and if the AI can create new AIs that seems like a pretty big step toward triggering an AI singularity, where the AI makes an AI smarter than it is, which makes an even smarter one, etc. Again, I know we're not at the point where it can make AIs smarter than itself, just saying that's where this is headed.
