The embargo on previews breaks today, and so I was hoping Digital Foundry would have a performance comparison between the Switch and Wii U versions, but nothing so far. Weirdly, Eurogamer doesn't have a preview up at all, even though all the other previews went live an hour ago. The previews are super promising though.

GOH, where are you seeing that you need a pro controller? Everything I'm seeing is saying the joycons are serviceable, though not quite as good as a regular controller.

Multiple sites are reporting that they're having problems with the left joy-con desyncing when it's not plugged into the tablet. So that's a thing. Hopefully it's a software problem that can be patched, but as a lot of people are pointing out even if it's a software problem there's no guarantee Nintendo designed the thing in a way that allows them to patch the firmware on the controllers.

Turns out I misunderstood the thing I saw. I thought the controllers were going for $20, but they're actually going for $35. That's no low enough for me to impulse buy it.

According to the articles I've seen you can order them to move to certain positions, and I'm unclear on whether or not you can order them to attack specific targets, but you definitely cannot order them to use specific powers.

You can't even control your squadmates' power use.

Yeah, I would just be getting it for couch gaming with M/KB games, games with actual gamepad support I would continue to use my 360 controller.

Steam Links and Steam controllers are super cheap at GAME and Amazon right now. I'm thinking of getting a Steam controller, how well do they work for M/KB-only games like Civilization or Shadowrun?

Halo Wars 2 It was really good. There was some stuff about the plot that I didn't like, but ultimately that just comes down to framing for the missions, and the missions themselves were great.

Also then you're getting away from the plug and play ease of console games. Although I suppose you could have a single option on each game to tell it whether you prefer graphics or performance, and the game could do all the specifics automagically.

There's a new Vampire: The Masquerade game called We Eat Blood that appears to be along the lines of Lifeline, where you're playing via text messages. Looks neat, but it's $5.

Now I can officially put Gravity Rush 2 in here. I liked it quite a bit. Fundamentally it was just more Gravity Rush, which was all I really wanted. My only real complaint is that with some of the challenge missions they got too far away from just playing with your gravity powers.

That's actually another reason to wait until the second pack comes out: if you get a Switch in the meantime you could get the expansion on there instead.
