  1. I voted for Fallout 4 more by process of elimination than anything else. I actually think Life Is Strange would be my real GOTY pick.
  2. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong, but I can confirm Life Is Strange is available to add to your library because I did it.
  3. You have to add the game to your Raptr account before it will show up under manual.
  4. What game are you playing that isn't in Raptr's manual list?
  5. Yeah, so I'm never doing that.
  6. Scratch that, it just shipped. Yay!
  7. That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a game.
  8. I just finished Jessica Jones, and really like it. One thing that's been nagging at me though (late episode spoilers):
  9. Great game, totally worth it. Though why does every company think they need their own damn services instead of just letting us use the standard ones?
  10. Mine's not even supposed to ship for another 3-5 days.
  11. Splashtop is what I used for playing PC games from my laptop before Steam streaming was a thing. It's free for local network streaming, although it charges $17/year for streaming from elsewhere.
  12. I'm not sure how I feel about that. My initial reaction when I heard about the beast master thing was for my interest in the game to decrease, but now that I've seen the trailer and it appears you only ever control one animal at a time my reaction is less negative.
  13. I already ninja'd you on that. They do have 8k cameras, it's just almost nothing has actually been made with them yet.
  14. Apparently I'm full of shit, and 4k is the standard for filming. I have no idea where the 8k idea came from. My only thought is that apparently lots of old films when they're digitally remastered are scanned in at 8k, edited/touched up at 8k, and then downsampled to 1080p or 4k for production. Also, apparently for the last 20 years when movies were being converted to digital formats like DVD/Bluray they were scanned at 4k, edited at 4k, downsampled to 480p (DVD) or 1080p (Bluray), and then the 4k masters were just fucking deleted. It never occurred to anyone that they might be useful for any reason... Finally, to come back on-topic, Attack of the Clones was apparently shot with just 1080p cameras (!), and then they cropped it to 2.40:1 so the actual final image is only 1920x817. And that's the originals! What the hell were they thinking?!
  15. Most movies are actually filmed in 8k or higher. Not only did I watch it on a shitty 480i TV (progressive scan TVs weren't really a thing until ~2000), but it was on a shitty VHS that was recorded at home from a TV broadcast, so yeah...
  16. Yeah, that's part of my thought is I can see vr never really taking off, but for $20 it doesn't matter if I end up sticking it in a closet and never using it.
  17. Google Cardboard VR viewer. I've been wanting to kind of mess around with VR without having to spend Oculus Rift or Playstation VR money on it, especially since I don't yet know whether I'm the kind of person who can do it without getting sick. I figure I've already got the phone, so this is a good way to try it without investing a whole lot.
  18. I didn't realize the Gear VR had already been released. Now I want one...

Bought a Google Cardboard instead. 1/5 the price, and all I would probably do with either of them is screw around for a bit going "this is so cool" and then never use them again.

Ethan's all "This thing I didn't care to find out when it's being released, I NEED IT NAAAOOOWWWWW"

More "this thing that wouldn't have worked with my old phone so I didn't pay attention but now that I unexpectedly got a new phone I'm more interested"

  19. I want to "like" that, but only the part about maybe it's not such a good idea, not the part about it happening.
  20. It appears to me that ditching the SD card slot is becoming a trend, so you may not be able to avoid it simply by avoiding Samsung in the future. When I was looking for my new phone I looked at the S6, the Note 5, a Moto phone and an LG phone, and none of them had SD slots.
  21. Does that map put Bespin and Hoth in the same star system? Or is it just that the stars are very close together? Putting them in the same system would solve the question of how the Millennium Falcon made it there with a busted hyper drive, but would create a new plot hole regarding how the rebels never noticed the high traffic mining colony in the same system as their remote hidden base.
  22. Yeah, that's kind of what I decided. The only thing it was likely to get filled up with was pictures anyway, but all my pictures automatically backup to cloud services so if that does start to take up too much space I can just delete the old ones cause they're already on my computer.
  23. Yeah, I agree, I don't feel like that really warranted a spoiler tag, but I figured if everyone else is jumping off a bridge...
  24. Yeah, I like it a lot so far. The only thing I don't like is the lack of an SD card slot (and they only carried the 32GB version, so I couldn't get the 64), but none of the other newer phones on offer had one either so it didn't enter into my decision.
