  1. lol, I guess I wasn't explaining it very well, because that's what I meant at first: it's morally ambiguous to pirate a replacement, not to crack an owned disc.
  2. I meant I don't care about ME1's DLC. That DLC wasn't that great. Pinnacle Station specifically was super lame.
  3. Yeah, it's getting pretty freaking ridiculous.
  4. Oh, I am too, but I'd rather just have to download a crack for it. I said it was grey, not wrong. *Edit* - I would actually buy ME1 and 2 on PC again if they would release a pack that comes with the DLC (or at least the ME2 DLC, don't really care about ME1). I just don't want to buy the games for $5 each and then have to spend another $15-20 on DLC. The difference is in this case you'd still own a physical copy, which in my book IS the game. With a digital copy, then you technically no longer have anything. ? That sounds like you're arguing for my point.

  6. I also have 2 Super MNC invites and a Tribes Ascend code.
  7. I'm fine with the random packs for consumables like medigel or ammo packs, but I do not like them one bit for getting new weapons and characters. Just tell me how much the specific gun I want costs, and let me buy that specific gun when I have enough. *Edit* - @Vargras: yeah, I was level 12 and he was level 2. It shouldn't be an issue though, cause they should have done two things: 1) scale the difficulty to how many players there are, and 2) made it so you can join public games as a party.
  8. Zombies should not be hot, it weirds me out.
  9. Not to mention that, at least in my opinion, wind farms *enhance* views. They're so peaceful and serene.
  10. Yeah, I was just trying to play with one of my friends, and we couldn't figure out how to join a public game together, and we couldn't ever get past level 7 with just the two of us.
  11. It would mean I wouldn't be tempted to go upvoting and downvoting posts just to restore karmic balance. *Edit* - Also, I like the ability to "unlike" things, because I'm retarded and occasionally up or down vote something I didn't mean to.
  12. Obviously what he wrote was just a summary of researcher's conclusions, and not an exhaustive dissertation on the subject.
  13. I think he meant "would you not be able to command [the one-mission squad members] with Kinect?" Actually, an easy way to test is for someone with Kinect to try ordering Anderson around in the first level of the demo.
  14. It's not always "believe it causes autism." Sometimes it's "don't want to spend the money." Yes, but the issue in the article and that we were talking about was parents not wanting vaccines because they think they cause autism and the doctors "firing" them because of it.
  15. Yeah, just last week my wife and I got a bunch of coupons from Dillons (where we do most of our grocery shopping) for products that we purchase a lot.
  16. It seems disingenuous to me to say that "won't get a vaccine because they believe it causes autism" is going to lead to "won't change a bandage cause it's too much work". While misguided, the vaccine thing is at least arising out of a concern for their children's well-being. @Dean: yeah, it's pretty well established that states have the legal authority to compel vaccination, the questions is over whether states should exercise that authority (I think they should).
  17. I don't fully trust DD services not to just have my "purchases" vanish into the ether, so I prefer to buy a physical disc. Even if it's a Steamworks game, it's both easier and less morally grey to crack my purchased disc copy than to pirate the whole thing in the event that that happens. I will only buy DD in 2 situations: 1) it's enough cheaper than retail to overcome my preference (usually has to be about 25% cheaper, but it depends on how expensive it is to start with) or 2) it's just outright cheap enough that I don't care (that's about the $10 range). *Edit* - Also, even if it's not coming out in retail until March, I'd still expect preorder options to be up, at least on Amazon and Gamestop.
  18. I don't think they should though. I mean, obviously you have a right to instill your religious and moral beliefs in your children, but I don't think that extends to taking actions that carry a very real and concrete threat of serious harm or death, just like you can't beat the crap out of them because you believe in firm punishment. Children aren't their parents' property, they are human beings with their own rights, and since they don't yet have the capacity to make their own decisions we as a society have a duty to protect them. Usually we delegate that duty to the parents, but when the parents are failing in that duty I believe society has an obligation to step in.
  19. Okay, just making sure. Sometimes it seems like Americans are bigger on the idea of free expression than Europeans. (That's one of my biases.)
  20. You don't have the right to complain? Or you should choose not to exercise that right?
  21. I completely agree vaccination of children should be mandatory. You have a right to decide what treatments you want done for yourself, but I don't think you should be able to inflict stupid decisions like that on your kids.
  22. Yeah, if that was actually the beginning of the game it's pretty shitty, especially compared to ME2's badass opening. I'm hoping there's at least a cutscene or something before that part that sets it up better.
  23. Evolution doesn't favor things that are "better", it's just a result of certain traits being successful. Dogs that had traits humans liked have been pretty damn successful. If humans were to be suddenly gone those traits would not be nearly as beneficial to their survival, and many many dogs would die out, leaving those that were sufficiently suited to the new environment to be able to continue reproducing.
  24. I agree, I thought it was a book at first until I saw that you'd posed a preview for it.
