  1. There's enough slack on my mouse cord hanging off behind my desk that it always pulls whatever is on my desk straight, so I don't have the problem with it looping up and pushing on things, but it's not heavy enough to resist me pulling it back. It's kind of perfect.
  2. Unless you're using your kb/m from across the room, I don't really see the appeal of wireless. It just seems like more of a hassle. Now, once we've got wireless power in our houses as well I might change my tune.
  3. I'm up for playing it on 360, I'll probably be on from 6 or 7 GMT tonight onward. Apparently you can't set a beacon for it though, which is stupid.
  4. Apparently you can't set a beacon on 360 for the ME3 demo. LAME!

  5. Well I'm definitely not buying Alan Wake now. Not because $30 is too much, but because it's too much for a DD game, and apparently no retailer is carrying the physical copy for PC.
  6. I like the official MS ones cause I can charge them while I play and I don't have to worry about having replacements ready to go. Though apparently I've been a lot luckier than most people, I've had two official MS battery packs for about 5 years now, one of them died after 3 years but the other is still going strong.
  7. I'll probably be on 360 this afternoon CDT (GMT -6), at around 12 or 1.
  8. Also, check the update to this article: they knew about the problem, tried to fix it, thought they had fixed it, found out after launch that some people still had the problem. This whole thing reeks of shitty games journalism.
  9. It's open to everyone? I thought it wasn't supposed to open until tomorrow except for people who own BF3.
  10. That cover made me expect something entirely different, and thus I was incredibly disappointed by the preview.
  11. Yeah, that's what I'd do too. That way if you get bored before then you can sell it.
  12. When I think "Mass Effect music" I think of either the start screen theme from ME1 or the galaxy map theme from ME1.
  13. The younger ones are unvaccinated because they are still protected by their mother's immunity. I don't think it's right to punish kids for their parents stupidity, and I think that's exactly what this practice is doing. And just because they refuse one type of treatment doesn't make them "not your patients".
  14. Many Christians do pick and choose what they consider to be sinful, though. To go back to the same trite example, most Christians wouldn't consider it a sin to wear a cotton/polyester blend.
  15. I'm p sure Lego already was Lego Minecraft.
  16. They're 5 feet, which requires me to sit entirely too close to the TV when it's charging. It's fine when I'm playing on the monitor.
  17. Do we get to faff about with our weapons (TWSS?) in the multiplayer section? I really want to see how the equipment system works.
  18. I'll buy a 3rd party controller if I can find one I like, but in my experience the only ones comparable to the first party controllers tend to be just as expensive if not more so. For instance, I love the 360 controller, it's sticks feel just right to me, I've never found another controller that has the right amount of tension and deadzone in the sticks. It's to the point where I actually bought an adapter to let me plug a wired 360 controller into the PS3 (so I guess in that sense I bought it as a 3rd party controller...). Wireless isn't that important to me. I mean, it's handy, but most of the time I play with my console on my desk connected to a computer monitor, so the distance isn't an issue. *Edit* - Madbass, I've never had one of the silver 360 controllers, so I can't speak to them, but I've never had that problem with any of the white or black 360 controllers I have.
  19. Interesting interpretation, but I don't know that I'm convinced that was actually the intent (difference between allegory and applicability). For instance, I could point out that the movie makes the point that the only reason the villain became a villain was because the "Supers" thought they were better than everyone else and wouldn't let him help.
  20. The article seemed to think it was because they have too many patients to justify the time and effort necessary to deal with difficult patients.
  21. I don't think that's really a good thing. You're not helping the kids by refusing to treat them, even if their parents are making bad decisions.
  22. I agree it's a complex subject, but there is one thing in here that I see pop up a lot that's just incorrect: no one's getting kicked out of (public) schools for praying. You can pray in school all you want and no one will/can stop you (though you might get in trouble for not paying attention or if you're praying in a disruptive manner, i.e. praying aloud in the middle of class). The only thing that's not allowed is school-sponsored prayers. Also, I wanted to add in my last post but forgot: I accidentally downvoted one of Yant's posts above. I was trying to click to see who had up-voted it just out of curiosity, but I missed and hit the down-vote button instead. I'm sorry.
  23. With the cross thing: if your'e marking a specific person's death, I am absolutely fine with a cross on public land. Not because crosses are a secular symbol, they are not, they are a Christian symbol, but I'm okay with it because they are representing the religion of that person who died, and religion is a very important factor in how people understand death. Now, I might think it was weird/insensitive if it was a Jewish officer who died and they put up a cross, they should instead put up something like what the military does with crosses for Christians, Stars of David for Jews, star and crescents for Muslims, etc.
