  1. I'm all for most of the weapon tweaks. The sun-on-a-stick should have been there initially, it doesn't make sense to me that the pyro would get full crits with the axting when he can actually set targets on fire while the scout would only get minis. The backburner change seems like a good change for reflect pyros as least, getting used to it will teach you to not spam m2 while also doing a bit more damage and getting free back crits. Flare buff makes sense to me, compared to the shotgun it can deal decent burst damage now considering the number of ways people can put out fire now. As much as I hate the weapon/set the sleeper can better fit its offensive/support sniping/tagging role now... although they'll probably just end up more annoying than they were before. Only changes I'm not that sure about are the melee changes for no-crit... will have to actually play with them to see though just from reading the patch notes I'm not liking the changes to the Powerjack.

Ha, nice! Thanks for the heads-up.

Got my four free codes :D

  2. Shogun Pack is out apparently http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=5104&p=1 http://www.teamfortress.com/shogunpack/ Pics of all the items http://www.gtfogaming.co.uk/community/the-shogun-update-sega-me-t10338.html Looking great so far curious about their affects... annoyed that I haven't even got around to getting all the xmas items. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Shogun_Pack
  3. Never bought from them before but, Gamer's Gate is having a sale, page full of games from 50%-75% off... good portion of the games I've never heard of but, a few notable ones like Arkham Asylum, Mirror's edge, and Amnesia http://www.gamersgate.com/5years
  4. Retribution is interesting it's far more like 1 and has some story that helps the transition to 2, I thought the whole linking it with Resistance 2 was rather interesting even if it was a bit of a hassle.
  5. Didn't see this thread so thought I'd start it. Loved the story/universe of the first game, uncovering what the chimera were, the cloven, hale and the alternate WW2 setting really did it for me. The second one's story felt like a let down, to me it went from an alternate ww2 and then suddenly transitioned into halo. The few things I did enjoy about the SP were the grims and the radios. The 60 player competitive multiplayer felt rather bland/crowded/hectic and never really caught hold of my interest but, 2's greatest strength is probably the cooperative multiplayer. It was the mode I spent the most time in and enjoyed the most. As for 3 I'm glad that the SP is going to feel more like one, Capelli wasn't a very interesting ally during 2 but, hopefully things have changed since then and I hope the multiplayer coop makes it in/has been improved.
  6. SNES,GB Pocket, N64, PS2, Xbox, PSP, PS3, Wii, PC. All of them still work although I thought the pocket was broken until I turned the contrast thing... and I've lost the video/audio wires for the n64
  7. I believe before the patch on some maps the bottom of ramps could be completely blocked with 2 2x2 buildings such as a supply depot or pylon where 2x2 is simply the size of the building which can be viewed if you turn on grids in the options. This meant that a protoss for example could block off the bottom of the zerg's ramp with 2 pylons delaying/preventing a fast expand. This has since been patched and all the ramps have been "standardized" so it's no longer possible with 2 2x2 buildings... I'm guessing it's like 3/4 now?
  8. Wasn't it because of Geohot in the first place? http://www.ps3news.com/PS3-Hacks/ps3-is-hacked-by-george-hotz-hello-hypervisor-im-geohot/
  9. I rather enjoyed the SP, it was nice to have some change in level layouts and some stuff that would carry over like the research instead having to completely start from scratch every single level. As for the multiplayer it seems extremely intimidating to me so I haven't tried it yet myself but, as far as I'm aware the practice leagues are limited to the novice maps which like your friends say will slow down the game because of rocks blocking all the routes so it'll be like old sc days with no rush stuck in the game name. I do suggest you look at videos like day9's otherwise I guess looking at replays might help you see any mistakes you've made
  10. Personally the weird thing is that I enjoyed/got used to Killzone 2's weight/movement so after trying Killzone 3's beta a while back it felt far more like MW/Blops.

    Steam

Not exactly... about steam but, for any of you looking to buy Civ5 and noticed the steam sale Greenmangaming has it 10$ cheaper http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/sid-meiers-civilization-v/
  12. Hansel Gretelbot came out today http://lbp.me/u/Hansel_Gretelbot/levels Edit: Oh.. Wow
  13. Battles where you're supposed to lose... the entire focus of the game is to win battles so areas where the condition to proceed is the exact opposite throws me off. I'll even find myself guessing during the battle if they're supposed to occur leaving me most of the time with "Oh, that boss was just ridiculously overpowered." People with infinite health. Like main allied npcs in shooters that can literally just stand there and take multiple rockets to the face and then shrug it off kinda breaks immersion, kinda enjoy how Killzone handles it where you actually have to "revive" main characters if they go down. Enemy npcs are even worse though... when the game gives an enemy infinite health so they can stay alive until "important scene x" leaving you wasting time/resources trying to kill it
  14. Now... things are getting interesting. Most of the changes ignoring the melee/nocrit ones to existing weapons seem to make sense whether they're things that have bothered me about these items or if they're things other people have brought up continuously. The few that strike me as odd are: allowing random crits on the caber... considering how much damage it does already, the vitasaws new ability... while it needed something being able to see enemy health is kind of random, as for the rest.. will have to play before I comment on them WAIT WHAT? YOU CAN RJ WITH THE DETONATOR? ASKDASKDJASKFJAFAK http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1629850
  15. So I got a naming tag to day and it's time to name my axtinguisher... the theme I've been using is pokemon moves from the 1st generation and I need help deciding which move reflects the weapons ability while not being obscure or misinterpreted as something else. http://tf2b.com/?id=chrnoxiii My 2 named weapons so far are: Degreaser as "Fire Blast" since Flamethrower is also a fire move, I think of the degreaser as the same but, better and the blast part can also mean the airblast. I renamed my shotgun to "Fury Swipes" since its a normal type move and hit-scan weapons seem to be the normal equivalent and because I usually need to land multiple hits to do real damage. With those 2 as examples I've only thought of 2 so far which are: Guillotine and Dream Eater. Guillotine is a 1 hit kill but, has low accuracy and Dream Eater does good damage but, the target needs to be asleep for it to work kinda the same way the axtinguisher needs fire to do real damage. So yeah...what do you guys think? : <
  16. So.. during the steam xmas sales I bought GTAIV and the DLC for it. From my previous experience years ago of playing with 3,Vice City, san andreas, vice city stories, and chinatown wars the series never exactly left any great impression on me.. to me it was always that sandbox game that was fun to mess around in but, never really pulled me in. During all of my play throughs I generally got bored of the missions and stopped playing except for San Andreas which I only rented but, enjoyed mainly the working out/stat stuff. After buying GTAIV I had reasonably high expectations considering the reviews, and the quality of R*'s work in general after hearing reviews about RDR and seeing upcoming stuff for LA Noire. IV has been a great game so far, I'm actually interested what's going on in the story although my complaints with it so far are: the movement/cover system which could just be me but, they feel rather clunky, the optimization of the PC version since I'm barely hitting 30fps at 800x600 :<, and the HELICOPTER CONTROLS ARGHHHH.... with my first encounter piloting a helicopter being a mission where you have to follow it in a car, take out guards, steal it while under fire and then fly it while being chased by police it doesn't seem like the best situation to be learning to pilot it.... not to mention that after all of that I only manage to stay airborne for 30 seconds before the helicopter decides to flip upside down and plunge directly into the ground despite me only holding the acceleration key. That being said I'll be more on the lookout for R*'s stuff in the future and I look forward to playing through the rest of IV+EFLC
  17. Half Life 2, Ep1, Ep2, Deus Ex: Invisible War, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, Super Meat Boy (if you count beating light world at least..)
  18. Been considering getting it since the beta but, atm not so sure... Still got a backlog of games from steam's xmas sale, I'm a little weary of the 50$ price tag + future subscriptions, and it's currently fighting Love for my mmo slot which I'm been interested in since I first heard about it.
  19. Haven't really played any.. modern/western mmo's and managing to play during the 1st beta for rift it was interesting. Souls gave an interesting way to branch compared to the usual "get to lvl ##, upgrade to class A or B". I enjoyed the whole rift thing quite a bit though. Never fully understood how opening them and such worked but, having tons of random people help each other to take out the waves of monsters that would otherwise be killing anyone on the roads or attacking camps was rather fun. Although organizing a party during the havoc is difficult and when people don't group up to close rifts you generally have to abandon the area until they eventually close by themselves (I think). That being said I haven't played any of the betas since the initial one and I doubt I'll spend the money for the cost of the game and the subscription especially since the tf2 items will eventually be craftable :3.
  20. Well... I recently just finished playing Deus Ex:IW and HL2... and while I backing up the saves from both games they totalled 1.1 gigs or so... and I started thinking about how often I saved games that let you save whenever you want. Personally I'm a rather paranoid/semi-perfectionist person so I attempt to save before every encounter and if things don't go quite right I restart and try again. So yeah, like that title states how often do you save?
