  1. I like how the first guy complains about Doctor Who being too scary, then praises The Doctor Dances and complains about the 'Teletubby' Daleks (i.e. less scary Daleks). Oh and because his 10 year old daughter is at the 'ew, boys' stage that means romance sub-plots are out of the question for every person watching. Besides since when have kids ever wanted to watch a love story. @Enervation: Really? I was completely on edge for the scene where Amy gets locked in the space-porta-cabin with the weeping angel video, and the gas mask kid from The Doctor Dances was creepy as hell. Now imagine how a much younger child is going to react in proportion. Remember we're talking scary for kids, Amnesia isn't exactly for kids, now, is it?
  2. I never actually played it as a kid, but when I finally got round to playing Ocarina of Time the game made me pretty depressed. It's a mixture of the crappy N64 textures and the actual horror present in the game. Coming out of the Temple of Time into the market square as an adult for the first time was a harrowing experience. Because of this, along with the general aimlessness of the open world and for some reason the fact I knew there were so many secrets that I'd barely scratch the surface of without a guide unnerved me so much that I stopped playing not long after becoming an adult (Edit:in game, duh). I haven't worked up the courage to return yet.
  3. (Re)watched the Bourne Identity. Not sure if it was just because we talked through a lot of it, so I wasn't giving it my full attention, but I was slightly disappointed with it. Not enough to deny the fact it's a great film though.
  4. Of course the connection could simply be the fact that Pakistan has many Bin Laden/Al Qaeda/anti-western supporters and combined with the geography of the place that makes it an easy place for any terrorists to hide from the US and other coalition forces. As for the effect it will have on morale, on the US side it will obviously be a boost, but we're talking about religious extremists here, martyrdom probably only strengthens the terrorists (perceived) cause anyway.

  6. Probably L4D1 (haven't installed 2 yet) or Dead Rising 2. I do love Dead Rising, even though I haven't finished the campaign of the second one after I lost a lot progress from forgetting to save.

Ahah, I didn't even notice that. Clearly wasn't made by Brits.

  7. Is that from the last series and a half of the David Tennant doctor? I haven't seen them cos I over-saturated myself when I watched the series before this one followed by the rest of the reboot up until half way through the Tennant run.
  8. Nah this is the 11th of 12. And the finite regens isn't biological so much as time lord policy. They can have less or more. Potentially as the last time lord and beholden to no one he can have as many as he wants. As for breathing Way to rain on my parade of hypotheses. Is the detection thing mentioned post-reboot cos they could always just ignore it. It does seem familiar though as I've heard it mentioned (I've only watched the post reboot episodes). Maybe he has noticed, though, at the end he was all keen on going after...it...but then is like 'or how about we go adventuring instead' and you'd expect him to be more curious if he didn't know what...it...was. Besides the Doctor is beginning to rival Batman in the 'had it figured out from square one and it was all just part of the plan' department.
  9. Figured it was but I'm not so sure about . I dunno, seems too simple. Same way she knew how to breath etc.? Surely it a natural thing. Also is this the Doctor's final version (you know how he could only have a finite number of reincarnations) because if it is does that mean .
  10. I'm guessing the whole PSN/Steamworks thing did its job. Microsoft wouldn't want to give people any more reason to forgo the 360 version.
  11. I think there's a load of games magazines doing previews on it this month, so I'd expect some new details pretty soon.
  12. Crying with happiness, and er banging your head against the wall with happiness?
  13. The Host. Got a bit messy towards the end but in general a fun monster movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and avoids cheap shocks. Nice to see the monster in broad daylight and long enough to actually see what it looks like for once. CGI was impressive for a production of its size as well.
  14. I'll probably go see Harry Pottwe it in 2D as well if Cineworld give me the option. I was forgetting I'd probably won't be in Manchester in July, I was expecting to end up seeing it at the IMAX where I wouldn't have any choice in the matter. I'm still optimistic about First Class, I know Fox screwed up the last two X-movies (and I can't remember if X-Men 2 was any good) but the trailers are making it look pretty great.
  15. As a whole the trailer is a bit action heavy, especially after such a lovely atmospheric start, but I'm still super excited. Not so super excited for the post-conversion 3D jobby they pulled on us though. Seriously, as if they need to milk the biggest selling franchise in the history of ever any more than they have done.
