  1. I'm more interested in Dead State. Never heard of a zombie MMO.
  2. Bulletstorm leaked on the Xbox? Why isn't the Internet in an uproar?!

Cause nobody ever pirates games on consoles silly.

      Facepalm forever.

  3. I'm hoping the melee combat is kinda like Condemned. One of the rare FPS that did melee right. And they did confirm the existence of firearms, but in reasonable amounts (and ammo being an issue). Also, speaking of Condemned, I honestly hope you can carry more than one weapon...
  4. I am curious about this game, but Quake 4 and Doom 3 are reminding me not to get excited about upcoming id games.
  5. No, I meant I have no idea whether the screenshots I linked should be compared to Heavy Rain graphics, since obviously SOME of the screenshots are in-game tech. The trailer is obviously pre-rendered so I wouldn't compare it to any game's graphics.
  6. I really don't see the trailer as just a depiction of a dead child. It's a reasonable scene in a "zombie scenario" directed nicely. It's also a subversion of Infant Immortality, which could also be setting the mood for the game. That whole link is full of hypocrisy IMO. Oh, and there are some screenshots here: http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/955540/dead-island/images/dead-island-20110215060817299.html;jsessionid=ar4fv2divk2u The facial work does look good, but dunno if it should be compared to Heavy Rain. EDIT: Here's the old Tech Trailer http://ve3d.ign.com/videos/18937/PC/Dead-Island/Trailer/Gore-Tech-Trailer Note it's from 2007.
  7. It's mostly Chrome and Firefox when I have to, since I have the same plugins on both of them. I have some sites that refuse to work properly on Chrome but have no problem on Firefox.
  8. Dead Island is a zombie sandbox game trying to approach the zombie cliche in games a bit differently. Hell breaks loose on a tropical tourist resort island and you (and up to three friends) need to make due with what you've got. Because of the nature of the environment, you won't be finding firearms, grenades and the like, but rather have to improvise (kinda like Dead Rising, only not campy). Despite being sandbox, the devs claim it is also very story driven. It all sounds good on paper and I'm hoping they execute it as planned, but at least the trailer caught everyone's attention. Seriously, watch it in fullscreen and 720dpi.
  9. This made me sad :(

Rats. This is one of the news items listed below statuses, but those items are locked and can't be commented on. I'd definitely be interested in talking with people more about this.

I have a feeling its like a mashup between L4D and RDR Undead Nightmares. Just far more serious in tone. Me likey.

  10. Come on, folks! Let's try and get some TF2 going!

  11. Ah, good, I wasn't far off. And Taliderpybadmintron makes a point that it might be official Gawker policy, but they could have said so right away then. "No criticism." It would make them look like douches, but not as much as "we don't care about you because we have 2 million monkeys reading our blog". EDIT: nevermind, looks like Kotaku are just douches then.
  12. My comment on the list from Steam chat:
  13. This new layout would make it take forever to find the direct response from Owen in the comments. It was a thread of comments about Dean being ban or de-starred, I can't remember honestly, I think it was the latter, but when I said Dean was offering constructive criticism and punished for it, Owen made it sound like the eds think Dean is telling them how to do their jobs and that's something they don't want. After the bannings, the new most common phrase is "you guys are just a few people among 2 million monthly readers". The fame got to whoever's heads and it's damaging Kotaku and Gawker in general now it seems. I'm only sorry for contributors like Totilo.
  14. Owen jumped in the Steam chat after the Great Massacre to try and calm the situation. From what I've gathered then and some other comments on Kotaku itself from Owen, the main problem seems to be that what Dean was saying wasn't respectful criticism, but "telling everyone how to do their jobs". Whether all the eds or just Owen and Crecente see it that way, I have no idea.
  15. I want to pimp my profile page as well D:

  16. You can't really solve this. Best anyone can do is lock him up and give him psychiatric help. The damage done is beyond solving.
  17. I picked up my special edition of MvC 3 today and if I understand correctly, there is no day one DLC. Jill and Shuma-Gorath aren't available until March 15, which I assume is the release date for PSN/XBLA, and the code is to get them free. Not sure about costumes or shadow AI. Some characters already have alternate costumes in place of alternate colours, like Spiderman and Iron Man. I never played the second one enough to comment on the differences. I only played two player against my sister when I got home, and it still retains its chaotic fun, but I think I might have to sit down with it for a while if I want to get anywhere in arcade mode. I've never owned a fighter that relied so much on combos, so I guess I'm in for a real lesson/headache. EDIT: Costumes and Shadow Mode are out March 1st. Thanks for the correction. Not day one, but I still think it's kinda soon compared to how DLC should work.
  18. I hate day 1 DLC in general. Always feels like a ripoff. Think MvC3 has Jill, the tentacle rape monster and costumes so far? Are the shadow AIs also day one?

Oh, poo. I was hoping JC2 would be on sale the last day so there was a chance of payday coming along :/
  20. Added Serious Sam HD: the First Encounter to the green list. Technically, I haven't played enough of the HD version, but I played the old one enough, so one playthrough of the HD game is enough for me at the moment (MP sessions excluded, of course).
  21. It is kind of sad thought that programming and animation wise, Bethesda seems to fall short, and the visuals are very awkward at times. It's sad because despite that, the immersion is always great, it's why people come back to their games and play them as much as they do. I swear, if they would just keep the strong and fix the bad, it would be an awesome experience. And the visuals are a real small step from Oblivion when looking at screenshots. But I'm not concerned by that as much as I'm concerned about the animation and NPC faces.
  22. Had 2. A cat and then a hamster. Both lived long and I hope happy lives. And were pretty awesome. The person below me still gets shocked by the Internet from time to time.
  23. You know that shoop where you see a funny face among 2 or more faces and then paste the funny face on the other face? That is one of those pictures.
  24. That cover is the most inappropriate cover I have ever seen for a game. And I have seen them, don't think I haven't. DON'T YOU DARE THINK I HAVEN'T. I owned a Sega Master System dammit.
  25. Sometimes I wish I knew how to be mute. The person below me is a bad enough dude.
