  1. My family are making me add them on facebook so they can redeem rebate coupons for random stuff. I think this is an evil plot to make me start using it.

I'd never let my family add me to Facebook. Social network suicide.

      I wouldn't if I actually USED it.

Just make another account for that.

  2. I had a conversation with a person who called me retarded for thinking Battlefield is frustrating. His counter-argument was that it's "completely realistic." I wanted to stab this person.

I usually want to stab every second person I see. Nothing's wrong with that.

Dex, it's not about me not being accustomed to it. I usually pull a positive KD ratio, but I just find the games to become more and more frustrating as I play.

I've been playing Battlefield since the first game and it's only recently they've started pissing me off.

  3. E.Y.E is a game everyone should give a try, just because of how different it is.

  4. You're just being a hater. I don't usually get the opportunity to say this, but you need to lighten up. The Zelda timeline stuff is all just for fun. The only people here taking it super-seriously are the ones trying to tell us we're wrong for having fun with it. Don't assume people approach serious stuff with the same attitude they approach this.
  5. I think... Well, I think a few things. I think that it's not the fans fault if Nintendo writes plot holes. I think it's not the fans fault if Nintendo refuses to admit to those plot holes. I think at the point where Nintendo releases their own analysis of their writing, it is their own decision to do so, unless someone pointed a gun at them and told them to do it. Sure, some fans wanted it, but others (like me) would have rather they didn't. I think that the existence of Nintendo's own interpretation of it doesn't ruin the stories in the individual games at all, and they should be as fully enjoyable as they were before. And, crucially, I think you're being a dick trying to tell people what they can and can't enjoy and care about.
  6. Faiblesse Des Sens: If you haven't seen any timeline theories involving minish cap, four swords and oracles, you might want to actually read the thread you're posting in. There's one on the first page. Also, what ruined the Zelda storyline was fans being passionate about it? Really now? I take offense to that.
  7. Atomsk88: Both Wind Waker and LTTP fit well with a "traiditional" split timeline theory... but they both fit in the same spot. You can't have both, just one or the other.
  8. Honestly, I'd just find it hilarious if Bethesda lost the rights to the franchise in a legal battle they started in order to fuck with Interplay. Sort of poetic justice.
  9. That's... kind of actually what being a healer in a wow raiding guild is. Beneath all the layers of grinding and combat and stats, keeping everyone alive is a goddamned puzzle. Or, at least, when they manage to keep healers balanced. In some patches it's just "throw area of effect heals on everything and it solves itself", which sucks. EDIT: that is, during ideal conditions in progression raiding. There's a lot of cases where this unfortunately isn't true. Yay for bosses that ONLY damage the main tank. Those are so fun to heal.
  10. I might be, if you want any of what I've got. In other news: I just picked up an E.Y.E. Divine Cybremacy -50% coupon.
  11. After watching Giant Bomb's quicklook on Sonic CD, I finally realized why I never liked it. Sonic CD has more "weird stuff" (or gimmicks) than basic platforming, and I'm all about the core platforming. Anyone else feel the same?

I was always annoyed by the time travel mechanic. Possibly the only greater annoyance in any Sonic game were the Chaos Emeralds in Advance 2.

    2. Strangelove

      Strangelove

Time travel and all the side stuff is easily avoidable. You can just run through the game from left to right like always. If you want to get the good ending, then yeah you have to explore.

In general, yes. I can't stand it when sequels feel the need to force alternate gameplay in. That's why for me the only Starfox game was Starfox (SNES). I didn't get into Sonic but I definitely sympathize.

  12. I tend to agree, GOH. I'm UNEMPLOYED, and I don't think the time sink is worth it. Honestly I think a lot about the WoW model for MMOs is non-ideal. I'd like to see an emphasis on the multi-player aspect, and far less time-sink.
  13. Wow, they are really doing that? I had dismissed it as a stupid rumor. I can't honestly see why. This takes all the fun out of it. EDIT I... I saw the supposed official timeline on Siliconera. What the fuck, Nintendo. Your solution to Wind Waker not making any sense with the rest of the timeline is to invent a third fork? Clumsy... http://www.siliconera.com/2011/12/21/does-this-legend-of-zelda-timeline-make-sense/
  14. I love Ars, but that article was a bit below their par... It's exploring the "radical" idea to play an MMO without grouping, which isn't very radical at all. It's fully doable - hell, even very simple! - in most modern (WoW-era) MMOs. That's a pretty major misunderstanding about the nature of these games and it comes off as if the author has not done any kind of research on the subject. While I can see the article being useful to people who are coming from the same position he is, it also implies that this solo-play-friendliness is something unique to SWTOR. It's kind of misleading, whether the author intended it or not. In some ways, the entire leveling experience of most MMOs are designed to slowly easy you into playing the game and the class. Where you draw the line as for the "tutorial" ending and the "game" starting, is highly debatable.
  15. I'm back on Opera for various reasons, although the latest versions has one particular feature (tab stacking) that you can't turn off and sucks insane ass. Maybe I should go look for an older version.
  16. I'm up to four coals now. This is pretty lame. xD
  17. I have a coal and a -25% Valve Published Games cupon. I own all the Valve games I'm remotely interested in, so I'd be very happy to trade it away. Not that it's really worth much. EDIT: I guess I also have this backpack of TF2 items. I don't play anymore and I have no idea what most of it is worth, but if anyone wants to trade me something for them, I'd be up for that. http://steamcommunity.com/id/robotinblack/inventory#440
  18. I must admit, I like Through The Fire & Flames completely unironically and don't care that it's overplayed. Now sue me.

Through the Fire and Flames is an alright song. The problem with Dragonforce is that all their songs sound the same, so you might as well just listen to TTF&F.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

CyberRat has it right. It's not like Dragonforce isn't fun wank off metal... it just all sounds the same so the novelty wears off too fast.

  19. Eh, I wouldn't worry. The only thing that really looks sub-par even on lower machines is the shadows... and those just look shit on ALL machines.
  20. Something that strikes me about all the groups of people it's generally accepted to hate (hipsters, etc.) is that I am more often annoyed by people complaining about them than I am by the groups themselves. Just a thought. =)

  21. Anything by Retro will have my interest. Only problem is I'll probably not have the platform it comes out on. I just want SOMEONE to make a new F-Zero. One of my favourite franchises ever.
  22. It's pretty damned wrong in any day and age, and any country, to suggest that religion has a monopoly on morality.

  24. Are there any really good puzzle games on PSP aside from Lumines and Puzzle Quest?

Exit, Intelligent License, IQ Mania, arguably Every Extend Extra and Space Invaders Extreme.

While I am a fan of both Every Extend Extra and Space Invaders Extreme, I'm not sure either of them are puzzlers. =)

  25. The reason I am surprised when people accuse me of just trying to justify not paying for a game is that, and I thought I had made this clear, I do not think piracy is inherently wrong and therefore do not really need any justifications to take part in it. I'm fine with people disagreeing with me. In fact, I expect it. I'm less fine with that in this thread, it does not seem we ever can have a calm discussion. It saddens me when instead of discussing the issue (and I think piracy is in dire need of discussion. Both sides of the debate need to make great effort in understanding the other side!) people just get angry and start barking at each other. That's largely why I stopped responding here. It's also why I attempt (but often fail) to not involve myself in the discussion here. Oh just stop it. I know you're pissed off at me, but that thread was trashcanned for a reason. If you want to discuss it, contact me on steam. Don't bring it up here.
