  1. I got a haircut. Demand from the people who pay for the food I eat. I don't like it. >_>

      What's George Lucas doing there?

I wish Goerge Lucas made that much sense =)

  2. I'm going back in to see what they've changed.
  3. Okay, did a few tests. If steam is already running when my network cuts out, I'm fine, but if I have to restart it, or it's not already running, it just won't launch. That's shitty. In general, Steam's client is pretty shitty. The interface for most things is awkward and it's filled with technical issues. Plus, it's a huge performance hog in comparison to say... Impulse (which you don't even have to run to play the games) or Desura.
  4. Amazon bought Book Depository. This sounds like extremely bad news.

Not sure what the Book Depository is but Amazon is an excellent bookstore. Woot is still awesome even though Amazon now owns it.

Amazon.com might be decent to americans, but there's no amazon branch for Sweden, and amazon acts like total assholes to buyers outside of their branch territories.

I just checked out Book Depository. The US version has a contest to win a LEGO Millennium Falcon. Now I am interested in this site!

  5. Am I the only one who doesn't have a problem with Steam's offline mode then? If my connection breaks, I can still play games.
  6. I got my copy today. My opinion, based on six hours, so far: HOLY crap, this is GOOD. It feels like if the CoD2 campaign was a multiplayer shooter. But better.
  7. If anyone's looking for an alternative to BF3, I just picked up Red Orchestra 2 today. Initial impression: Loving it!

I don't see what makes BF3 look good. I saw the trailer and it just looked like another modern shooter.

BF3 = BFBC2, some balance changes, new coat of paint, new levels. Done.

Oh and tack on a terrible campaign.

Don't forget to take out the destruction, too!

  8. This is quite frankly amazing. 1) They are "at best" ignorant pawns? What are they at worst? 2) How are they pawns? Do you have any evidence of this? 3) You're equating unions and communists with slime of the earth? As someone living in a country often viewed by many americans as communist-like, I take a bit of offense to that. Also, my father works for a union. If I were inclined to take your post that seriously, I would take offense towards that part as well. 4) I like how you personally know that all the OWS members are spoiled brats living off of their parents. Are you omniscient, or just making wild generalizations?
  9. And yet GTA 4 managed to fuck it up BAD. Pirandello: I mostly agree. Or, well, I don't care that a particular game is a port or not, as long as it runs well... But I'm glad the hardware cycle isn't going at light speed right now. I wouldn't be able to afford keeping up with it.
  10. I bought some Magicka DLC once. The Vietnam mini-expansion and one more. Wasn't really worth the money, not close to as good as the core game's campaign.
  11. http://www.indieroyale.com/ Amazing bundle, containing the much-praised Sanctum and amazing point-and-click Gemini Rue, for under 2 euros.

What looks cool at the bottom is that there are 3 other bundles that are coming up in the coming weeks/months. I can hardly hold my curiosity.

    3. Pirandello

      Pirandello

Whoever else buys it, we should get together and have a game of co-op Sanctum. Also, I do believe the first DLC pack is now part of the bundle, closing in one the second.

I actually don't care for Sanctum very much myself.

As far as I'm concerned, none of the commercial TDs can really measure up to the greatness that is WC3TFT Gem TD.

  12. Amazing deal, if nothing else for Gemini Rue. Played an hour or so of it earlier, amazing atmosphere.
  13. Yeah, from some swedish site. I'd nab a few to give to other people on here, but I don't think I can find a way to cheat their system.
  14. Eh. What'd suck was if they wasted significant development time on trying to create a commecial dota clone at this point. I'd rather they focus on making the first SC2 expansion awesome. In completely different news, I just learned I'll be recieving a Dota 2 beta key at the start of november. :3
  15. Blizzard DotA is just an official custom map for StarCraft 2 like Aiur Chef and Starjeweled. It was announced at last year's blizzcon, and is not a big project or anything that's going to be sold separately.
  16. "less sympathetic" is in this case a more polite way of saying "more hateful" =)
  17. To be honest it's getting to the point where I am less sympathetic towards EA than Ubisoft.
  18. Nearly everyone gets this. It's not actually precognition, but a known human brain glitch where we believe ourselves to have experienced something before.
  19. Brink: of frustration Might & Magic Heroes 6: of Might & Magic VVVVVV: The Spike Impalement Simulator Magicka: Four wizards, one magic cup. Aquaria: The Little Mermaid: The Game Bullet Candy: Now With Licorice!
  20. X-Men: First Class. I'm late to the party, I know. It was awesome =D
  21. I don't mean to disregard the rest of your post, spork, but there's one thing in particular I wanted to comment on. I see this kind of thinking a lot when people are discussing modern shooters and it just blows my mind. If the designers want you to play Recon one way, they need to design it so it punishes the other ways of playing. It's not the players' fault that the game rewards them personally for not contributing to the team. It's the same thing with the "god-damned campers" in counter-strike and CoD. If camping is too prevalent (which I don't think it is in the PC versions of either game, but that's irrelevant) that's a problem for the game designers to fix. This is sort of aimed at MasterDex as well: it's not Call of Duty or any other game's fault that players are playing it wrong in BFBC2. The game isn't sufficiently teaching/encouraging them how to play right.
  22. @Dex: Teamplay is important in actual matches in CoD. It's not everything about the game, but a team that plays together will trump a team that just rushes in blindly. @Nezacant: I have played Battlefield since the first title, so it's not a lack of time spent with the franchise. I feel the problems have just gotten worse for every installment past BF2. also, "rambo fuckers" started in the old id games before your semi-realistic shooters even existed. =)
  23. I had an... erm... short conversation with MasterDex on the subject of this bottlefield thing. Spoilered for wall of text reasons.
