Joycon drift. You can mitigate it like with your method but it's physically baked into how the sticks/joycons. It's just a matter of time of wearing out the contact pads.

Still pricey but not $69.99 pricey. I'm in for one since I need a backup plan for the joycons. Maybe the next iteration of the Switch will fix the joycons but for now, I'll have this.

Games You've Bought: Super Turbo 2019 Edition
Mal replied to toxicitizen's topic in General Gaming Chat
The combat/gamey aspects distracted from what the game is conveying otherwise I really enjoyed Hellblade. Headphones on for this one. -
And I cannot come up with anything beside vindictiveness. Like some legal bullshit must have happened in the past that caused this to be a thing. In my mind though it's probably make things worse since people who deserve credit get none. It also treats company as people, which they are totally not. Yes, people can change but company WILL change. The XSEED that I loved is no longer around since so many people that made me love it is no longer around. Same goes for the-faceless-many (and those with names that I don't recall or want to right now) that used to work at the likes of Bungie but are no longer around. Hell, I can say the same thing about Falcom (something is for sure going on with, at least, their music department). As a side note, if a company can change for the worse or at least something different, it can also change for the better. It's the reason why I can give even the likes of NISA a chance (as I say "surprise me").

I'm going for Not-mudkip. ?

What's the reasoning behind this practice?

Godzilla Great spectacle but to be considered a good movie it kind of have to have the human elements be good too. It's good enough to get from point a to b though. Just stupid is all. No build up to anything or at least not obviously. At least it has Charles Dance being a Tywin Lannister eco terrorist. BUT WHY SUGGEST MOTHRA AND GODZILLA BANGING. Anyhow, lizard people are real and hollow earth is true. I swear any and anything can be crammed into this universe. I'm half expecting Cthulhu and other Lovecraft mythos. I'm expecting Jules Verne and shit.

I really don't understand that sort of policy.

I cannot confirm this but removing Hatsuu is like removing the name of a director. She is the one that gave us the tone we got.
-
That's beyond fucked. It's basically robbing Hatsuu of her accomplishments. I'm really questioning what the hell happened internally. From the get-go something was off. Hatsuu's replies in those days came off as polite, professional courtesy even though something seemed wrong. Is it something to do with Falcom games? Since Hatsuu left at the same time as another and I believe there was another person before that. All people instrumental to the great localization we got. Hopefully Hatsuu is able to pick herself back up because everything seemed to have been pulled out from right under her.

While not groundbreaking but it is an interesting device that allows people to mimic animals in that balance themselves with their tails. I think intuitively it doesn't make sense that it would balance your body (at least it doesn't for me) but when thinking about when a person carries a long load/stick how that changes your center of balance. So it doesn't have to be internally attached to your bones to work. I think the most important part about this is how it adjust itself based on user's position. It's honestly not far off from what the Boston Dynamics robots do to maintain their balance but this time it's attached to a human. Give this thing five years or way less and it'll probably become wireless. Then yeah, it will have at least some application to VR games with full-body haptic feedback.

Let's try uploading photos directly to the forums since imgur uploading on mobile is shit. Anyhow, I can finally get a quality figurine for one of the GOAT shows: Fullmetal Alchemist! Elric Brothers at their prime. I avoided the typical Nendos for a long time just waiting for something like this to drop (in January). I actually only post a fraction of figurines that I buy. I actually have enough pre-ordered to be irresponsible. They are not just plastic resins. They represent ideas. For this purchase is for just how much I love and think FMA is badass. Also brotherly bond.

I've been waiting to be a rice farmer for years now... soon!

Just finished and I have to say: Erased is fantastic. I'm glad I bought the physical copies since I will proudly display this series. I haven't checked out the anime but maybe I'll do that soon.

Games You've Bought: Super Turbo 2019 Edition
Mal replied to toxicitizen's topic in General Gaming Chat
I got this today and it's gorgeous! If you love this game and wish for a physical copy, I'd recommend this if you have the funds. The base version is well a box but the art and such is nice. I actually reversed the cover since I liked the alternative one. Also, if you're new, I would avoid looking at the map. I kind of want to frame those four prints because they're so pretty. The intact collector's edition packaging needs the brooch in the center so it'll stay there. Hopefully the Hornet standalone game will have a physical at or soon after launch. Now to see if it plays well on handheld mode. And if the drift manifest itself in making the game unplayable. I really do want to do the DLC quests. Heard they are hard as balls so I hope my joycon drift is only temporary (doubt it). -
Who else does this sort of star studded power in their games? At this point even the characters look like the actors and actresses. I'm really only coming up with Quantic Dreams. While it isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is weird to have a game where you think of the actors/actresses when you see the characters. The characters' identities are potentially being strangled but who plays them. Like you're not playing as Sam but as Norman Reedus. Not Cliff but Mads. I do not think you can necessarily or easily get an iconic character (say like Snake) like this. Not impossible (like say Harrison Ford and his iconic roles) though... But yeah, Kojima gameplay is top notch. And he can at times make them so cinematic (e.g., Snake Eater ladder climb).
-
Should be at least visually interesting. While I believe Kojima should just make a movie (it would at least be interesting), I don't think movies as a medium can portray what Kojima wants. Anyhow, now to wait till November to see if this will be good or at least worth the price of admission.

The main thing is AI behavior. Changing how they act fundamentally changes the game. It being Halo 1, doubly so since I have fond memories of how the AI acted. Visually, I think the most jarring thing would be the Jackel's shields. They really should change color and stuff. This game is old but not primitive in that it didn't have those effects or ahead-of-its-time visuals. I do support fixing these visuals in part to pay respect to the original. It may seem anal but preservation of games as they were is culturally important. OG Xbox hardware and Halo 1 disks will only last so long. Oddly this involves Gearbox who had their own AI issue a year or two ago.

Caught my interest because of the guest singer. You can instantly pick up that she natively speaks Cantonese. It was actually a bit hard to initially pick out the language she was speaking but her intonation is unmistakably Cantonese. Anyhow, love the song. As far as Chthonic goes, it's like one of those slower Sabaton songs that I adore so much. Additionally, this song is basically an acoustic version of this... Or maybe a continuation of this (if the subject matter of the videos are anything to go by): Anyhow, I still don't know how I feel about Chthonic. Their composition and such is amazing as shown in the acoustic version. I'm fine with the growl but not so much the singer's... Screeching. I can only listen to Chthonic for so long.

I wasn't aware and I think it should be addressed in an official capacity by 343.

I'm still wondering if I can see them live... maybe my work will allow me to work down in LA for the weeks between the concert date (August 17th). That or I take time off to go to NYC in early September. I could use it to see Demons & Wizards and do some other stuff like see family. The pain here is getting timely air tickets.

So I recently got the first volume of "erased" by Kei Sanbe. If got this recommended to me from somewhere but I forget where. Basically it's about a guy who can relive crucial moments in his life where someone is in danger. So far I think it is quite well written and paneled. I won't write home about the art but it works quite well. I'm not sure where the story will take me but I for sure want to keep going. It's tragic, lovely, cute and human. I recommend it so far.

If you haven't watched Chernobyl yet, I highly suggest it. It's not so much about the day but the process of dealing with the disaster. The first episode or two just boils my blood by the sheer arrogant and ignorance. By the third I was numb. Just follow the narrative.

Yup. (Little) Robin Arryn. I mean, I guess I was? I really cannot expect much else. All my nerd rage is gone. All is left is laughter. The last episode opening could have been this Nothing that was built up came to fruition. The writing was also terrible as we all know. EH. Oh.
