I don't play fighting games but... HEAVEN OR HELL, LET'S ROCK!

Imagine this: You are enjoying a family outing at a festival then you get shot. How about: You are shopping for back-to-school stuff then you get shot. Avoid all that: You are at a bar just chilling for the weekend then you get shot.

Eh. I think I'm not going to rage today but please, (for the type of people who are not here) continue to tell me that the situation we have is good.

Amazon Prime, is well, for Prime which I still use a lot. I always see the streaming service as an extra (though the Lord of the Rings show might be really compelling). I also have HBO Now (only got Jamie Oliver and maybe Westworld to hold me on... Plus my niece is watching Sesame Street) and Netflix (my bother pays for it). I have no intention of adding more services. I rather sail the high seas but I probably won't even bother... I got enough to watch, play or whatever. I'll do without.

Okay, if gun control doesn't work then we just have to straight up ban them then. Nationwide. Sure we'll have extreme cases (Christchurch and the Norway[?]) which, while not great, I would be able to live with. Yes, I would rather have the general populous be able to handle such free gun ownership but obviously that is not happening. If we want to be such a militant country then, shit, we better enact group punishment like in the military. "But sir, it was their fuck up, not mines!" you say? Well tough shit. We're going to enact policy changes and we are ALL going to sit through all these Powerpoints.

Due to the Iowa and Tupac thing, I've been listening to 2Pac for real for the first time. Like sure he got his fight songs and shit directed at his rivals but even those songs are good in their own ways. He's rapping about his life and I do find beauty in that. Then he got stuff like Changes and Dear Mama. Like damn. So yeah, 2pac is good.

The Gilroy gunman was taken down in less than a minute after he started firing. I applaud the officers quick response yet three young lives were taken before it was all done. Outside of the gunman walking into officers, there probably were no better outcome. This would be the norm if we were to arm schools and other public places to combat this hyperactive cycle of gun violence. Some places, like some synagogues, already do and I recall the Poway shooting ending in a similar fashion: armed people who were worshiping defended themselves against an attacker but not before lives were lost. I am raging against the need for such a measure that is actually useless in addressing the problem(s). This line of policy is a failure even before the first shots were fired. Sad thing is, this shooting won't change shit. It is merely statistics among the crowded list of gun violence. Can people have their security and dignity back? (Dignity is probably a good lens to look at shithole countries towns and cities but it's a rant to be triggered another day)

So much for thoughts and prayers.

I only ever saw a small glimpse of all that food production but my view seems to be from a more rural area. Even when condensed into towns, urbanized by putting people into apartments (true single family homes isn't a thing for rural folks it seems), a lot of people were or are children of farmers. Subsidence even. Any good spare usable space will probably be used for farming for your family. It can literally be right off the road, by a park or behind some trees or bushes. I have no idea how they determine who gets what but it all somehow works. No one seems to fuck with their gardens/plots. People just roll up on scooters and just go to work. It's really is bizarre but it's some good use of land. And can explain the lack of grocery stores that sells vegetables. I've seen meat, fish and fruit markets but not really in the way of vegetables. It was weird. Edit: And yeah, if you go there with American or really Western salaries, you can eat like kings.

Depends on where you are at. As a whole, this is we were at last year. (edit: I wouldn't be surprised if some of this has be fudged but it should be generally true.) For someplace like California, coal is practically non-existent within the state (there's only one coal plant left). However, when California gets power from other states, our coal usage ticks up to sub-5%. Together with natural gas, fossil fuels accounts for about 50% of our use. Nuclear (another non-renewable) is at like 9% and getting lower since we're shutting down our plants (I get it but probably a bad idea...). I mean, I think renewables is here to stay and grow, whether our current administration likes it to or not. Coal is dying for a reason and that reason can be purely financial ($/kWhr) and is kind of why coal hasn't came back. Natural gas is here to stay until we (as in humanity) figures out a good battery (chemical or even physical) so renewables can meet sudden or even a baseline energy demand (nuclear would be awesome at this...).

Dean, it's kind of the reality of the situation. UK's and most of the EU's (France comes to mind) homes weren't built for these sort of temperatures. Easiest patch is installing AC. AC powered by fossil fuels is a net negative (it makes the problem worse). AC powered by greener energy is about neutral. It'll be interesting to see how many days of late spring and early autumn will be filled with records from our lifetimes. With a bias for our twilight years.
-
The thing about the record for the UK is that they have some of the oldest records on the books. Hmm, we're breaking records everywhere and almost back-to-back. Old (UK and European records) and new (records within the last... decade?). What the balls are we (us here) going to see when we're 50? 60? 70? Dean, install some mini-split AC system on your (?) property and hold on for dear life.

I never watched it but I always heard good things. Also it's probably a classic at this point.

This shit will never die.

The day or so was so fraught with rumors that it was utterly useless to report on anything but what came from official sources. Seriously, the rumors drowned out the real facts. With the death of someone in the hospital, the death toll is at 34. Yes, while there are other studio locations, the studio that burned is a total loss. Yes, there is a man and a motive. It's about as petty as the rumors suggested. While I cannot confirm it but the building did have fire exits and such. They were all blocked by the murderer. I also cannot confirm who exactly died. This will take a bit to get all settled. Anyhow, what a shitty time.

Probably is better than the Remake.

I mean, it's only the worst casualty event in post-war era Japan. Goes beyond the sarin gas attack. No big deal.
-
Umm... So this happened. Fire as in arson attack as in pouring gasoline on people and lighting it. It's bad. Forget about the total (?) loss of the studio, people died. Folks, don't take your entertainment that seriously. Be entertained, not do an act of terror because the studio did x, y and z. So yeah... Update: it's beyond bad.

I mean, I have a rather long USB C cable that I use in bed. For on the go, I got a powerbank. So overall I never had a problem with the battery life.
-
Joycon man. Upgrade those!

Adventure and imagination. It'll probably be more of a throw I hang up. AWW YEAH

This is fine. Take all the time they need to polish it... But this is NISA we are talking about so we'll see (see how damaged I am!?).
