  1. Haha, yeah, I figured it was a photoshop job. The 777 has the cord at 2.9 metres so that's plenty long for my needs. Until anyone comes up with a better alternative, I think I'll be sticking with this (Sorry Spork, I like my all in one's).
  2. Gah! G'damn! Shows how well I actually looked at the product before linking it. I thought that was a bit on the cheap side for a SteelSeries headset. But yeah, headset is what I'm looking for, my desk is always pretty full so not sure a desktop mic would be my best option. I'm not looking for anything top of the line but a nice headset with decent quality at a fair price. My biggest factor is durability. Every headset I've had so far has eventually went due to the wires. @Dean: That looks like a nice headset but the cord looks very small in that picture. Is that an issue? Edit: Just checked out the prices of the Plantronics headset on Dabs, seems very reasonable. Even the 777 is just a scratch over €50. I think we have a contender!
  3. I have a strange feeling that this game will end up being the FPS game to play on PC later in the year. It's been a while since I've seen gameplay that looks so solid.
  4. So, for a long time now, Excel_excel and I have been pining for new headsets and I think it's about time we figured out what to get. Just five minutes into looking and I see this: Steelseries Siberia I've heard a lot of good things about the Steelseries range but before I set my mind on it and convince Excel to do the same, I want to hear from the rest of ye. We're looking for something in the €50 range that's good quality and long-lasting. So, what say ye?
  5. I think it may be a problem on my end. Getting "Server not found". Maybe my ISP is to blame.
  6. Is Zhinto behind the balancing for this game as well? I remember reading that he was. If he is, it doesn't show a lot of hope for the future of balance changes in the game so if movement speed and so on really is out-of-whack, we're likely out of luck.

Good to see ya joined! As you can see, there's plenty of other exiles here.

So, like I said, the fact that he's acting so defensive only furthers everyone's suspicion.

I once posted a nasty comment about Luke. He dealt with it much better than this (made me look silly). I still don't like him much, but he diffused a similar situation very well. Joel could learn from him.

  7. Hey! How come I never got any panties! They look like they'd fit just fine too! ;P
  8. "fake realism" makes me think you're being sarcastic but I'm going to assume you're not and agree. Back when I was moderating servers, I'd say the biggest portion of our kicks were from a)people dolphin diving and jumping about and B) people complaining that such a rule is silly* and we're silly*. I've always liked being able to immerse myself into a match and nothing ruins that faster than some bunnyhopping, dolphin diving noob that thinks he's got skills simply because he bunnyhops and dolphin dives...yet still dies when doing so. I'm having problems connecting to that webpage. Overloaded?
  9. Hey! You signed up! Awesome! Welcome to the forums! Now that I've lost my star, I'll be promoting the shit out of this place...not that I didn't want to before but I did like being shiny, lol.
  10. No, the fuckers never sent me an invite. From the sounds of it, it's probably a good thing that I wasn't. It seems the alpha was as much a turn off as the recent news.
  11. I can't recall what it was in relation to but it sounds like they're just using a loophole in the system. I remember something along the lines of a company allowing people to opt-out of giving their information to third-parties but that said information would still be stored. The kicker was that the information they were allowed to give also contained the information of people that didn't allow that information to be forwarded on, the only difference being that the latter came with a precursory note stating that they opted out.
  12. BF3 will likely be the last EA game I buy if they keep up this shit. I'm really torn on this. One side of my brain is telling me that I'll still enjoy playing BF3 despite my grievances while the other is screaming at me to cancel my preorder rather than give into EA. I'm sorry guys, I can't stand by you on this one, even if I do want to. My willpower is just too weak when it comes to BF3. On the plus side, I can report back on the quality of the release version and so on.
  13. Wait, what? Is it the accusation of free will that upset him, or the implication that he has a salary? Nah, he picked up what I was saying correctly. I was accusing him of being paid to write up a glowing review of the machine. Oh I know he got the message, I just find it funny that someone who writes for a living can't even express himself properly. Out of the context of your comment, his reply makes no sense. 'Being paid to write what we want' is just one of the pros of being a 'professional' blogger, what he meant was 'being paid to write what other people want'. Ahh, I see what you're getting at now. Yeah, all that rage over being called out must have confused him. Loving the comments in this article. Now everyone is making comments about how it seems like paid coverage. Seems to be a strange lack of starred commenters making the same accusations though, I wonder why.
  14. Well, I didn't. Only asslickers deserve stars these days, at least that's how it comes across now. Anyway, enough about me. Let's get back to fucking Kotaku...I mean, complaining about fucking Kotaku.

  16. I think the fact that he approached us at all gave us the idea that he was cut from a different cloth to the other writers, I know that's the opinion it gave me. I was looking at some of his other comments in that article and one stood out above the others: Link I mean, really? The guy makes some good points and all he gets is that sort of reply from the writer? Talk about unprofessional. Which is one of the reasons I'm glad I lost it. It's not as if I was ever licking the ass of anyone over there, I've just been lucky. I do feel a tinge of sadness though. Now I can't promote those intelligent comments the asslickers ignore!
  17. Aaaand he took away my star! I literally laughed out loud when I saw he did that, I'm shocked I kept it as long as I did. http://kotaku.com/5834795/i-cant-believe-it-the-razer-blade-might-not-just-be-the-future-of-pc-gamingit-may-be-the-future-of-pcs?comment=42194444#comments
  18. You've got to be fucking kidding me! Can we add Joel tot he poll above? I need to revote.
  19. Theyre NOT all a set price. Im sure weve been over this before. Theyre a set price on PC too. Big name titles are ALWAYS 50-60 bucks on PC, everything else varies. Same thing on home consoles. The Witcher 2 and many other PC titles would counter that argument. The only titles I see at 60 bucks, even 50 bucks on PC are one that are either selling through Steam just after release or games from the biggest publishers where they've only recently began driving up the price for no good reason. I think the varying prices of games on PC, both big and small, shit and excellent shows that price has little to do with quality.
  20. Ahhh yeah, I was thinking that. Though many EULAs are scary, I think the real fear only comes when it's a company you don't trust. Right now I'm ok with Steam tracking some of my data but depending on how Valve goes forward in the future, that could change. It's a shame that in a system where the consumer is supposed to be the driving force that so many things we don't agree with are presented to us in a "take it or leave it" way.
  21. Doesn't Steam collect machine information as well? I thought they released details for the percentage of their users that are using a particular OS and so on? Or is that only with an opt-in agreement from the user?
  22. What's even more interesting is when you've got the author of a textbook teaching you a course but not actually using their own textbook. I never understood why my business teacher did that. He's a very smart man though.
  23. It's certainly good to have a few friends on your team but strangers aren't too bad. Hell, some of the time, they're thinking the exact same thing. I've found that some calm encouragement often helps bring those people out of the woodwork and once a small portion of a team of strangers start working together, you often get others falling in line. I've had some great matches with strangers...though more often than not, you're just stuck with people that care more about their K/D than seeing their team win.
