  1. A wee size comparison. When plugging into a PC it loads up as a "Hori Mini4" rather than a DS4 so that might throw stuff off. I guess I can update on that. edit: update, minor test seems it doesn't get detected same way a DS4 does. Though yet to test with DS4Windows (which it turns out in moving my folders around means I've not gotten that installed anymore to test).
  2. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider It's a bit weird in the "you don't have the mark of the outsider but totally still have a bunch of powers". Though I do find some of the powers were kind of limited in some parts to force down certain paths which was a tad annoying. Also trying to kill everyone but one guy for one mission. Always fun to do some more bits in Karnaca. I am curious where Dishonored goes from here though, assuming it still "goes".
  3. In other news Black Panther is doing very well. Record breakingly well.
  4. I too bought things on sale on Amazon. Hori pads were £16/pop which is a trillion times better than the £50 a full on DS4 goes for and now means I can do 4-player games with siblings and, as did the other day, at work. They're small, ideally aimed at children. The R2 is a bit funky but otherwise you get used to them quite quickly. Especially if you're playing the rule of "it's my PS4 I get the DS4". Hidden Agenda was also from Amazon for £5, which is pretty dang decent price. Idea being it'll be a good game to play with family (maybe) as an alt to movies. And Street Fighter was cos I have zero fighting games, I know it had the update recently, and to flesh out my selection for taking PS4 to work. Where I was promptly asked if I had WipEout Omega and I don't and now I'm like "fuck I should have got WipEout Omega". Maybe later. Oh I guess on a board game front I picked up: Neat little game, great for kids too and relatively small in size (which I do like). And for £7 can't really go wrong. (I saw a video listed on on YT the other day for a board game with 150 plastic miniatures in it and all I could think was "damn that's gonna be a £200 board game".
  5. Actually this film on the sound front As for mining it's likely the same method as say titanium where it's an ore. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutile Which once processed becomes the hardy titanium we know and love today. Also caps shield is an alloy and it's possible that it's much the same for other vibranium products (panthers suit for example is obviously not as solid and inflexible as caps shield, so obviously utilised in a different way).
  6. Wait...so which of Spider-man, Thor and GotG 2 was the worst MCU film of last year?
  7. Directors Guild roundtable. It's nearly 3 hours long, though I've been listening to it in podcast form where it's cut to 3 pieces. The main thing you miss out on is they reference clips shown which you don't get to see in a podcast (though I've a feeling they're not shown here either...I haven't watched the full thing to see). It's an interesting line-up, especially with Nolan and GDT who are well into their directing careers and Peele and Gerwig who are on their directorial debut (Greta Gerwig does not seem to cope well with large audiences). Also I didn't know Jack Dee directed Three Billboards.
  8. Yeah, I watched it last week and still sort of mulling it over. I don't think it's a film that I'll be immediately planning to dive into again. Enjoyable, and far superior to most other films (aside from a bit of a cruddy CGI suited heroes fighting scene, though still better than the efforts of that other comic cinematic franchise...), though within the MCU I wouldn't rank it overly high, though this day n age being the 18th film it's got a fair chunk of competition. I guess I feel a bit down on the "self-contained" films of the MCU and Black Panther might have fared much better in my opinion had it come in Phase 2 for example. Instead it's right before Infinity War, where I'd say something like Civil War would have been better positioned as an "escalation". Though it'll be great to see more of Wakanda in Infinity War....even if it seems it's gonna get totally fucked over. Some absolutely production design in the film though, from the architecture, to clothing, props, etc.
  9. I've got it on my watchlist. And you're not the only one to mention the gratitous levels of nudity. Currently I'm watching Fringe as kind of my "background to gaming" show. Last time I watched it was the first couple series in binge mode then the rest in old-fashioned waiting each week mode so it'll be interesting to see how much more I notice in the fifth/final series. Also do you know how hard it is to formulate your searches for fringe videos when you live(d) not too far from Edinburgh. (and I still can't find the clip I want so we'll go with this). John Noble is great. Especially playing at least three versions of Walter Bishop I do recommend it, it's sort of x-files except it's not aliens but other scientists/other earth. It wraps up quite neatly too since they were given a clear "hey it's your final series". And hey, peoples favourite Wakandan king pops up. Also watching FMA, though more of something I've put on when having tea(evening meal). Also on my watchlist: And also (though I'm like really doubtful for being okay)
  10. "Video games have left you feeling spiteful and embittered. You feel out of place in your life. You have been writing an RPG on and off for years but never let anyone see it"
  11. Yeah, saw a mention of the actors name, quick google n yeah turns out he's much older now (even though Iron Man 3 was 5 years ago). Anywho, new JJ
  12. I do find the spacing to be really weird. Everyone so far from each other. Even weirder is the video clearly shows that there was planning in where everyone would stand/sit so it's not like the actors plonked themselves wherever. There was no "let's put all the GotG guys together, and the Thor people, n Ant-Man" n so on. Also that's a fair ton of people and still missing loads (notable being Hiddleston, though if this was taken recently he has been doing Early Man). So yes, it's cool to see, shame it's missing loads, and shame it's only seemingly been uploaded as quite a crappy image given it was (assumedly) taken with likely a nice high-end camera with dozens of the megapixels. I guess multi-billion dollar franchises don't buy you good photographs? edit: It can get you high res photos, just not if you post them on Twitter https://i.imgur.com/65KEHAL.jpg (It's a huge image so not embedding) p.s Who is the kid behind Anthony Mackie?
  13. Currently not really playing anything. Finished Prey so in that weird limbo of other games. Trying to settle on something to complete. I maybe need the weekend so I can put a bunch of hours into a game and properly settle in. I'm totally open to suggestions of what to dive into. I'd maybe have tried Death of the Outsider but not wanting to follow an Arkane game with an Arkane game.
  14. I hate Event Horizon for the main thing that I'm not into horror. But I am into sci-fi. My step-dad rented out Event Horizon years ago in the days before film podcasts and youtube reviews n even rotten tomatoes (maybe). It starts off fairly sci-fi. But nope. Where we're going we don't need eyes to see. Totally agree it's one of the more 40K films out there mind and totally comes across as a ship that accidentally travelled through the Warp. Of course if you mention this to or around 40K super-nerds then they vocally disagree because...well super nerds.
  15. Some of the stuff they talk about it could do kind of require a camera, which this doesn't have (though Google Glass does). Price is the unmentioned issue, and many people don't like wearing glasses if they don't "need to" (as we saw with 3-D in cinema). Also smartwatches haven't hugely taken off and I'd say over glasses they're a little bit better in that they can be more interactive and you can wear watches in more situations compared to people wearing glasses that "don't need to". I'll be honest a biggy for me would be if I could have something that'd give me names of people I meet that I know from previous events, but as mentioned that'd need a camera (and some heavy processing, though that's fine to be passed on to a phone). Or doing presentations having the speakers notes right in front of me. I guess we shall see how this develops.
  16. "Why aren't the effects on his arm done? It's not like we're removing a moustache".
  17. Latest episode spoilers: But yes recent developments did make me think they'd gotten around the "this tech never shows up in later episodes" but I'm now back to having that issue. (also previews don't load spoilers, or at least shouldn't)
  18. So the superb owl trailer showed that Tony now has the Bleeding Edge armour. In the comics this comes from his use of a modified version of Extremis (the macguffin of Iron Man 3), and I wonder what they'll explain it with here. I've read suggestion that this case it's more like a super-compact version of his suitcase armour built around the chest arc reactor, rather than coming out of the pores of his skin.
  19. Huh, I'd always thought that with the Nvidia stuff that all turned off if you weren't on a Nvidia card. The benchmark definitely was like "noooo...killl me now" when I hit Alt+F2 as the Nvidia pop-up suggested to open up Ansel (which to be fair, I don't think the benchmark was quite expecting me to do, and it's torturous in other games too, like I tried it with Shadow of War and it's like going back to my old college rendering days having to sit n wait for a frame to be spat out). Though part of me thinks that (I'll be honest it might be covered in the video I didn't watch the full 18 minutes, slightly grating voice), maybe the Nvidia Ansel stuff is going to load in the Nvidia Hairworks stuff when you point the camera at them. Not like Nvidia would be all "ooh hairworks...and now to show you them naked cos they're not currently in the scene". I did notice, and speaking about it on the Discord wasn't the only one, that there was a performance dip as you enter the canyon area which I believe they're just on the other side of so I'd imagine maybe that'd be from the hairworks stuff popping in but given there's a notable dip there, I'd have figured if they were being rendered at all times that dip would be constant across the full run of the demo and not just as you approach.
  20. "Morgan, you have a massive amount of hands!" "I have two" "And that's well above average!"
  21. Can't wait to see what new names the Switch ends up with. Nintendo have been absolutely shite with names the last decade. Oh I also believe this is missing the 2DS XL as well, though not sure if that's "New"
  22. Yeah I hit a point where the game kind of stopped working and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where I'd gone wrong which heavily derailed me. I mull about going back now n then but tbh I'm quite happy at the moment to play games.
  23. Really should be "Lando: A Star Wars Story"
