Can't wait to see what new names the Switch ends up with. Nintendo have been absolutely shite with names the last decade. Oh I also believe this is missing the 2DS XL as well, though not sure if that's "New"

Yeah I hit a point where the game kind of stopped working and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where I'd gone wrong which heavily derailed me. I mull about going back now n then but tbh I'm quite happy at the moment to play games.

Really should be "Lando: A Star Wars Story"
-
Also this and this That film where people have run the numbers and The Rock gets killed by gravity. And a new Annihilation trailer Still weird to me this is only releasing in cinemas in US and China, it'll be Netflix everywhere else.

The wait is good, plenty opportunity to blast through other titles.

Prey All three endings (easy enough if you make a save, there's only ~30 minute difference between them). It's an interesting game, though not without its flaws. Some of my main issues being around interaction elements, with the key codes not "self-typing" (which'd be fine if you could input on keyboard), the maintenance shafts frequently causing issues of getting "stuck" on them (which given some of the turrets handily clipped too so I'd guess a flaw in collision). It was also a rather front-ended in story, the final act (including the arrival of Dahl) was rather short though maybe part of being the first half largely exploring the station and unlocking new areas, so towards the end with all the doors unlocked and most of the typhon dead (or easy to deal with, though that's also a more "end game" thing, they could be a PITA early on, more than I'd have liked) you could run through entire segments taking as long in the loading screen as you do the areas of the station. Maybe one day I'll dive in and have a more typhon-powered run of the game, I'm sure that'll mix stuff up (though having only taken the morphing ability I'm amazed at the end it was said I'd taken a massive amount of typhon augments).

Eh, I'd say for £28 (at least price seems to be showing over here atm) it's pretty solid. It's a really good remaster, in both upscaling the existing assets quite well (it was already a good looking PS2 game) and adding a bunch of great QoL improvements on top of a pretty dang solid game. Agree with the latter though. I'd been umming and arring over getting P5 or Cybersleuth with payday cash before the current PSN sale wraps up but eventually figured no to adding another long game to my list. Especially as I've still got FFXII to wrap up.

"So FFXII comes out today on PC and FFXV is on pre-order" *buys FFXV* I feel you might have cocked up a bit.

3,324. Better than I expected (that's at standard settings at 1080). It totally has a bit of a spoiler in it though, I'd have suggested the Ramuh summon instead but that's me.

A couple are pushing it, but yeah it's kinda neat. Obviously it's largely down to pareidolia

@FLD I bet you were happy when you got it home and lo and behold on your bookshelf was a space waiting for it, a perfect fit.

Event Horizon in LEgo: Fun for all the family!

I'd say if you're on a tight gaming budget, at the time of Zeldas launch you either had to be in the minority with a Wii U, or go n spend a few hundred on a Switch. (which'd be why at launch HZD was the stronger selling game, and BotW, as with many Nintendo titles, going for that long tail). @Mister Jack Not the first person I've heard saying so. I think the general point people have is they feel Zelda wasn't as...well rounded and long-lived. Like with HZD each encounter is pretty dang cool, and the mixed interaction of the machines helps with making encounters unique. How you deal with a thunderhawk is totally different to...I forget its name but the stealth one. Whereas I'm to understand with BotW there's an underwhelming variety in enemies beyond re-skins.

*adds into my bookmark folder where I'll no doubt never touch it* Still bummed I didn't keep up on Game Maker.

No music, but still classic fun.

Pretty much the entire Skywalker family has been shown to be pretty damn strong intuitive force users. On Hoth Luke grabbed his lightsaber without any training(in fact I'm fairly sure that's the first on-screen use of telekinesis, I can't remember Obi-Wan doing much except mind tricks), Anakin had inhuman podracing skills (like literally mentioned that no humans can do podracing), and even in the OT Leia was shown to be able to use the force to sense others, so being able to pull herself to a ship in zero-g should be fairly instinctive survival tactic. It wasn't like she was pulling star destroyers out of the sky or blocking laser pistol bolts. I had issues with it from a film view point in the "fake out" side of things, but from a Star Wars lore side of things have absolutely no issue with the daughter of Anakin/Vader and twin sister of Luke and an already known force user in using the force in a minimal way. It's not like anyone hinted at her being on par with Luke in anyway...

New Duncan Jones film. Has a bit of hype around it. Could be interesting. And yeah, he''s a Skarsgard but looks like Jack Dee if Jack Dee was on some heavy chemo or something.

Well this is a delightful surprise.

https://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#14.20/-1.52869/54.52674/hot/all A heatmap pulled from collated data of fitness trackers. Which I mainly came across from someone highlighting a few bases and such that aren't necessarily on maps (or clearly shown from regular aerial photography, but here can be shown to be patrolled and such). I kinda like that it shows the location of a current bridleway I use to get to work that's otherwise not shown on any satellites (and not even digitally marked on Google Maps) due to being part of a relatively new build (and likely to be removed in coming years as the rest of the area is built up).

IX being pushed back isn't weird at all given it has had a change of director, it was more weird that Solo wasn't pushed back given it was ...9 weeks into shooting iirc and paused for a bit while Disney heads wondered why the comedy directors they'd hired were making a comedy film. I liked both TFA and TLJ, and I find it funny that people are upset at TLJ for not cloning TESB while people also upset at TFA for cloning ANH. Sure it could be different people but I highly doubt it. It's otherwise the highest grossing film of 2017, and it was only out for the last two weeks of 2017, so it must have done something right. I'd say the thing that rubbed people the wrong way with TLJ is that it had a different director, a director who wasn't going to go in and pretend they were someone else but instead was their own thing. And really that's a tactic that's working pretty damn well for Disney *points to the entirety of the massively mind boggling successful MCU*. The last time Star Wars had the same director helming all the films with a homogeneous feel was the prequels all being directed by Lucas and as we all know they're universally loved. Also Lukes split-second action is pretty much in-line with Luke of old. He's shown frequently as impatient and impulsive as opposed to the "sit in darkened rooms and meditate" Jedi of old. Both Yoda and Obi-wan had fears on his leanings towards the dark side and it's always been a consistent undercurrent to him.

@Hot Heart I do like the rock-paper-scissors approach to the enemy types/affinities which mean that reward swapping out to different ammo types. And yeah the interaction between the machines (and with other humans) is pretty cool. @Ultra TCP As already mentioned in Europe HZ:D was the better performing game. It is a European game after all (which led to some sweet promo art), and as mentioned we have a higher affinity for PlayStation. And ultimately it doesn't really matter anyway since as originally discussed (like a year ago) you're not going to find them stepping on each others toes given they're first party games on two different platforms and not like a multi-plat shooter game releasing right on top of each other as you tend to get with COD and [any other shooter game].

I'm gonna guess that's neither the "narcissistic personality disorders for 2017" or the "Norwegian petroleum directorates for 2017". I did eventually find an article with it and seems to imply that they only use data supplied directly from the developer? https://venturebeat.com/2018/01/18/npd-2017-the-10-best-selling-games-of-the-year/ Which might, aside from the US Xbox lean, explain why there's not a single Sony game on the list. Battleront II being in the top 10 is something I just cannot wrap my head around, even on a US-only list. Like it did abysmally, EA changed their profit expectations for the year based on the poor sales, and yet it seemingly outsold crap tons of other games?

As it says it's a thread, and there's dozens. a taste Ideally these are showing up with Fleetwood Mac n Dirty Dancing for you guys. edit: And just up, the traditional "the heroes of a Disney film commit mass murder" song

Where'd you pull that image from? (I asked Google and they suggested some weird Japanese site). I mainly ask for it having BFII as one of the top selling games of the year is a bit ? Though it does say being US sales, which I guess maybe makes sense given EU charts (given our console affinity towards PlayStation) does put HZ:D right after FIFA n COD (even Crash sold more than Zelda). Though still yet to see even a US-only chart that puts BFII anywhere. (And global charts will never put NBA or NFL anywhere high given the single-country focus). VG Chartz puts the global sales at 4.9million for Zelda and 4.3million for HZ:D so hardly a considerable outselling. Especially given the long arm of Nintendo software (if you remember the launch period HZ:D did outsell Zelda, which was the main discussion of the "HZ:D is dead at launch cos people are gonna go n buy Switch in droves at launch"). And hey, it even got some DLC
