  2. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/85527/team-meat-kotaku-is-smut-and-lies-multi-plat-worth-the-hassle/ pow beat you to it.

Oh as usual that's at 6PM BBC1 Oh and spoiler "The Silence" (as in what got brought up all the time as tied to the cracks in the universe):
  4. From the same guy who did the Alternative Vote video. We live in a complicated country. Here it is in a still: He's working on a US version too:
  5. Red Dead Redemption I think... The ending was holy crap balls one of the worst endings to a game ever. I can only assume it was nominated so many times for GOTY's cos folks didn't get to the end.
  6. The guys in steam have being playing nightly Killing Floor if folks are interested. Noobs welcome. They use skype for chat though.
  7. First past the post meant we had no government for about a week, and potentially not the government the population wanted.
  8. Counter strike is a mod that has sold a crap ton of copies and regularly tops Steams most played MP game stats. I think it's worth covering.
  9. You know this should really say "My body is Reggie". sounds cooler.
  10. Actually the 360 hasn't been cracked or even any attempt on it. It's pretty much the main proof that no one cracks consoles for homebrew. They found you can tweak the DVD drive for piracy and therefore no one bothered cracking the console itself, no need.
  11. It's a nothing. Geohot had nothing to win since he was defendant, so he didn't lose (to a degree) and Sony didn't get to stick him in the slammer or set precedent.
  12. Eurgh need to come up with a business plan. I've being told my idea sucks cos it's too expensive, but it does fit the "unique" perspective (stereoscopic vfx)

Investors? Do smaller things to get the funds?

Oh this isn't for real. Also smaller scale won't help much :P It's a one man studio to begin with.

Sharks with lazer beams. No one will not afford that.

  13. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/11/portal-2-concept-art-shows-extraordinary-visions-of-aperture-science/ Bumper crop of concept art if any are at all interested.
  14. So you may have heard that US navy has got a laser weapon system up n running. They're all excited cos they managed to do it at sea and it uses the ships on-board generators. I was going to post on it other day but wanted a video. There's now a video of this test run: tbh from the description given in various articles I expected them to be test firing on something like this Not putting a few flames on a paddle boat. I'm not sure toasting the enemies marshmallows is an effective combat technique. (probably worth noting they reckon they can run several of these 15KW lasers together to make 110KW of power, so maybe that might do something more impressive)
  15. People who manage to form a strong opinion/"facts" on a game without ever playing it. Underlining "strong" cos you can have obviously form some kind of opinion from reviews, trailers, past experiences etc. And no this isn't just agemon, I thought I'd put it in before due to a dispute involving Postal 2 & GTA with someone who had never played postal 2 but had read a blog post on it. (was a while back around time of the California vs games debate)
  16. I'm pretty sure I put in the internet pet peeves thread my thoughts on folks who haven't played games, especially disputing stuff with people that have In fact why is the burden of proof on me? You're the one who claimed TB RPGs not changed in 30 years and you're the one now saying you haven't played them. As for the armour thing thought you're talking as in does it have swappable out armour(not all of them let you tweak your armour, just weapons n accessory). Even if it's only a few pieces compared to letting you stick on some gloves and a bunch of jewellery I don't see how that throws it out the window. In fact if that's a bullet point required for change then just on it's shown they do change over time. It's just sounding like saying FPS games haven't changed in the 20yrs since Wolfenstien and it's still just shooting guys; ignoring regenerative health, grenades, looking up n down, headshots, how many weapons you can hold etc. tl;dr: Are you a horse? edit: Nope I didn't put it in internet pet peeves. And I agree with masterdex, just sounds like you want a WRPG vs JRPG dispute.
  17. Word in edgeways = Word in edgewise
  18. Yes Yes, which even asking that makes me think you've not played it. You know from FFXI onwards no FF game has had random encounters. Most JRPG's have kind of done away with that. Yes, yes, and by open battlefield I mean as in can I run away to the next area mid-battle? yep. as in just attack, attack, attack. Yep. It actually got hated on for that. Please, play the game. You wouldn't have to ask these questions if you had
  19. I most likely physically can't log on to someone elses PC with my steam account now so.... I can hardly do it on my own PC if I try to go through the web browser.
  20. Oh yeah all the Star Trek TV programs (and that may extend to films) will be on Netflix, or are on Netflix, soon.
  21. No it's like saying COD n BF are the same with different HUDs. They both use macros, they both have timers on the attacks, you control one character while the rest auto-attack following the macros. All it takes is to spread FFXII's options across the bottom of the screen or to group Dragon Ages into menus. FFXII does have those limit break QTE moves every now n then which DA doesn't have. I've not played XII for a couple of years but I'm pretty sure it has AoE attacks too. They're both good games still. Great minds think alike n all that.
  22. Just to throw this out there but FFXII, a JRPG, and DA:O, a WRPG, use almost exactly the same battle system (just one with a menu system that says "Attack/magic/item" and one with a menu system that's 1-10) And I strongly suggest playing FFI the original release then playing FFI the PSP/iPhone release. It's a few minor differences but the battle system is different even with one game ported. I'm not even a TBS whore like Saturnine, mostly limited to Square n Atlus games, and there's a fair variety within the few I've played. Anyway, what about 2D platformers?
  23. I'm having flash backs to when Luke ran an article on how we had no 7th gen games, and many people pointed to how things had changed on the processing end, pointing mainly to Dead Rising n Dead Rising for the Wii as an example of how gameplay has changed.
