  1. Hear, hear! Top down Zeldas are the best Zeldas!
  2. Howdy-hi and welcome! I mainly play Guild Wars 2 at the moment, and some Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the side. If you end up joining the Civ:BE folks, I'll probably join around December when I get a new video card.
  3. 23% off Valkyria Chronicles at Green Man Gaming with BWG00E-QJP45O-INFGR1.
  4. 'Lo there. Welcome to everyone I missed—even those of you who haven't posted since posting in this thread! Maybe especially you guys. I'm sorry about Wally.
  5. While I'm glad the game is coming to PC (being such a great RPG), the quality of the port is still in question until its release. Here's hoping it's a good one.
  6. 8-player brawl and they use a completely flat stage to showcase it.
  7. Like Jack said: it's bullshit. It's even more clearly bullshit because they said they did it for the benefit of new players. I'm never quick to hope on the developer hate train, but they've made some questionable decisions of late.
  8. I just realized I'm pronouncing "media" like "Media" in my head when typing it. I think this is the point when I know I've been spending too much time on research.
  9. The fight starting at 30:55 was intense. We got there just in time—well, half of us. That meant the stragglers had to run, which left us split up but also ended up causing an inadvertent pincer. Good stuff. When I read "11 golems" in team chat I had resigned to die.
  10. @FLD: I'm pretty sure it's almost always the case with NISA games that English dubs are partial dubs, and there's always someone complaining about it.
  11. Well, I wouldn't say the first games were bad. They just had some questionable or irritating design at certain points.MkII had its moments anyway. But Victory was clearly the best. I don't plan on trying the Vita versions because A. I don't have a Vita and B. I don't like replaying games, especially RPGs. But hey, if you haven't played them, it's probably best to play the Re;birth titles. Oh, with respect to the English voice acting: that was a pretty big issue on the forums. Lots of complaining there. (Didn't actually use English myself.)
  12. Hope you enjoy it, FLD. I think Victory was the most polished of the three (Re;Birth 2 is the equivalent of Mk II IIRC), but they all suffered from a lot of game design flaws. Mk II was . . . all right.
  13. Yeah, I don't read the comic thread, so I missed it. I am reading Saga, though.
  14. Not sure what it's from. Must be some web comic.
  15. @FLD: I have the demo of that on my PS3. Seemed decent (and I don't mind the music), but I never got around to buying it. Had it on pre-order at one point.
  16. Is that person just pressing "x" the entire time?
  17. Bought a Surface Pro 2 for the wife for design stuff. It's pretty neat.
  18. What's your character/account name in GW2? I'm on fairly often.
  19. Humble Weekly Bundle has Long Live the Queen, which I enjoyed. "A neat little princess-grooming simulation game that tasks you with living long enough to avoid assassination before your investiture. The method of your demise varies both according to your decisions and the skills you've acquired, which are multifarious—anywhere from becoming a magical girl to learning falconry to your historical knowledge. Long Live the Queen is a romp well worth your time." And concerning my above post: GW2 is on sale @ 50% off.
  20. Guild Wars 2 is an incumbent, of course. The Fall WvW tournament is going great for my server. We won the first (and most difficult) week with a desperate all-night push to grab the lead. The rest of the tournament should go smoothly. We're currently dominating (Gate of Madness). I've also started Ar nosurge (prequel to the Ar tonelico series). Well, I started it the day I bought it. I'm about 10 hours in, which isn't very far. A surprising bulk of my time has been spent watching events. Nearly every new item you synthesize is followed by the typical item dialogue as usual, but the items now unlock events as well. More dialogue. I don't mind it; it's just unexpected. I've completed 50% of the events for one character in the first 10 hours of the game. Not usually something you'd have the materials and recipes to do.
  21. And all games are $5-10 more than U.S. prices. But yeah, I know it isn't a good idea to judge by hours per dollar, but I just can't see myself paying that much for a 4–5-hour game. Still, it looks neat. Noticed you've been playing Re;birth. How's that? I played the original game, which is vastly different from what I've read.
