Welcome to the forums, Drake. That's a pretty favorable name you have there. You need an avatar, though. I've been told you're no one without one.

Yeah, but I'm talking about all those rings that enhance abilities by 30% or whatever. Need to know which abilities they have to know which rings to use. -

Some thoughts on Dragon Age Inquisition: Gathering blows, especially considering how many items need materials you have to gather. I don't want to play Dragon Age the MMO. The inventory system is all sorts of frustrating. Navigating it reminds me of Skyrim. And there are all these rings that enhance abilities, but no way to see what abilities my characters have equipped while equipping the rings. On the positive side, I just discovered the amulet that lets you retrait. I now have a traited Hook and Chain skill, and it's great. No cooldown and no stamina cost, so I can just spam it. The range is silly, too. It's like I'm Spider-Man. Also, I tried to fight the Ferelden Somethingback at level 10. I might have done 10% before I ran away. -
All these charts! I feel insufficient.

Helmets, pah! I'm pretty sure my wife is wearing a heavy helmet on her character (who wears medium armor), so it looks even worse.
-
Yeah, I turned helmets off. Besides the search function, my only other issues are gathering and a lack of romance options. Oh, and combat movement is pretty wonky if you aren't in tactical mode. Otherwise, I'm enjoying it.
-
Playing that now! Not many issues with it, though I do have a few. Currently I'm grumbling over the sonar.
-
Totally not the reception I was expecting for Shadow of Mordor.

Note to self: Add "Note fo self:" to internet pet peeves thread.

Dragonfall is much better. That is all.

This little war o' mine, I'm gonna make it shine, make it shine, make it shine.

I can't personally speak for MoC, but the other Ys titles I've played have been great. Good move grabbing Child of Light at any rate. Also: that's the holiday outfit for Lili.

Wife has been using my PC to play DA:I. It looks gorgeous if nothing else. Only it seems like there is something else. -
I haven't played it yet, but from the trailers it seems like some sort of adventure/puzzle game.
-
I've only purchased a few for myself during the Steam sale. I was also gifted Dragon Age Inquisition. I'm pretty sure this is the most insane year with respect to games I'm getting during the holidays that I actually want to find time to play.

Just redeemed my Indigo gift cards for: Sassanian Elite Cavalry AD 224-642 Baptism Of Fire The World Of The Witcher Eric: A Discworld Novel A Field Guide to Stars and Planets: Stars and Planets Alice's Adventures in Wonderland And Through the Looking Glass The Arabian Nights

It was a difficult decision, but I think I'm going with Shadowrun: Dragonfall. Child of Light was pretty good, but it didn't have enough meat on its bones. Divinity: Original Sin was a strong contender, especially since it scratched the same itch as Dragonfall and had cooperative play. Unfortunately, the cooperative play was often a like trying to drop a hair tie down my cat's tail. They should have spent more time polishing the game before release. Its lack of polish varied from being buggy to being outright incomplete. Shadowrun: Dragonfall stands out as an extremely well-polished game that improves upon Returns (which was already super-fun) in most every way. The game and maps are less linear, some of the mission decisions are very creative and really lean toward more player freedom and agency, and the writing is by far the best of any game I've played in some time.
-
I know it takes some time to pick up, but I'm not sure where 4 hours would put you with respect to that.
-
Man, this sure is a difficult one to tackle. Generally, I can pick one or two strong titles that clearly stand far and above the rest. This year, I'm juggling Child of Light, Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Divinity: Original Sin. I'll have to give it some thought (and finish working).
-
Hooray! I haven't really been keeping up with Persona releases since there hasn't been a new core title since P4, but I don't doubt 5 will be great.
-
"Imperial Invasion of Insomnia": how far are you willing to go for your country and alliteration? I don't think anyone can (seriously) deny that the game looks absolutely gorgeous. At least in its marketed state. But I'm still not sure what to make of the combat system. Last I heard it was supposed to be something like mashing one button to do [flashy thing]. And that lip-synching and those voices aren't doing it any favors either.

Gosh, our gov't would never do something so scummy and underhanded to its own citizens!
-
Ah, okay. I think that's a good general outline. Although it's hard to tell whether there were any ulterior motives if it was in fact North Korea that's responsible for the hacking. And I sure wouldn't put it past the gov't to drum up or support a conclusion that so many people have already come to with no real evidence.

True enough. But at what point does it become one?
