  1. I still see it as people being dicks to begin with, but I guess that's another topic.
  2. That's still an issue of people being dicks with copyright laws.
  3. People being dicks where IPs are concerned? Who knew?!
  4. I know I've said this like five times already: give me a god damned D&D game where the DM uses the gamepad. That's all I need. ALL I NEED!
  5. Yeah. Though I've never actually experienced it in GW1. I only played that for a month or so. :< Edit: There's also a rhythm mini-game:
  6. Ended up doing this neat mini-game in GW2 last night that's like a tower defense game . . . only with infected holiday toys, siege engines and dolyaks. And some other holiday event screens:
  7. It's a good game, though probably not as good as a game that uses the American flag to represent English on its website.
  8. Eventually the boats will be the assassins.
  9. Steam ID/Wishlist/Country: & Elven Ampersands & | Wishlist | Canada Background: It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters. General Criteria: While I'd prefer a well-spun tale filled with charming characters, it's only a preference and not a necessity. Sometimes fun is fun. I don't really like "games strictly as art" titles, and most indie platformers leave a very bad taste in my mouth. That considered, feel free to get me something that isn't on my wishlist if you think I'll enjoy it. I don't want Hate Plus. Don't. Just don't. What are your favorite genres? A bit of everything, but mainly RPGs (both "western" and "eastern"). I've a lasting interest in isometric CRPGs, though—a la Baldur's Gate. What are your favorite games? Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, The Witcher, Atelier, Ar Tonelico, Saints Row, Nier, Suikoden, Shadow Hearts, Counter-Strike, FF6, Xenogears, Clannad, Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored Are you looking for any non-Steam gifts? Only if you find some great deal or it isn't available on Steam. Update: If you want to get me something that isn't a game, I'd love some gems (the microtransaction currency for Guild Wars 2). You can just send me the code.
  10. @Ethan: I really cannot think of any. I went through the game vanilla (EE). I will offer one important tip, but it's a spoiler for the first boss fight: @HH: Yeah, I've been avoiding watching too much media on the game (as I tend to do with games I know I'm going to buy).
  11. I know I haven't bought games because of it. Though with that Kickstarter project in particular it just doesn't seem all that great to begin with. Seems to me like chibi models are resultant of budget decisions, a dev's abilities and/or hardware restrictions.
  12. I've been keeping an eye on this one. It's one of the two JRPGs releasing next year I'm actually interested in (though it just released in Europe). The only thing I've seen that I dislike is the chibi character design for 3D models; I've always thought that looked fucking stupid. Otherwise, it looks like it could potentially be a neat game.
  13. I play all sorts of coop with my wife. You guys suck.
  14. Nothing is better than local coop. NOTHING!
  15. I'd hardly say the Wii or Gamecube were failures. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read that Gamecube made them a healthy sum. And Wii was a Thing.

  17. Saints Row IV, Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Saints Row IV is a grand time, and in every way an able successor to III. I especially appreciate the radio drama show that has the game's alien nemesis narrating Pride and Prejudice. The superpowers are fun, and fit perfectly in the blithesome, flippant atmosphere. I can see how it was originally meant to be DLC, but they've expanded upon it enough that I don't think that's really a concern anymore. I returned to FFXIII only to finish the game because I'd like to do so before playing FFXIII-2. Just doing side quests to level my characters for the final dungeon. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen still hurts my eyes. Not only because it's incredibly ugly-looking. The game is blurry and has contrast issues. Everything is difficult to see, even on a very large TV. But it's free on PS+, so I figured I'd give it another try. Escort quests are still awful. It still does maces—namely the simulated feel of fustigating bone and organs and armor—better than any game I can remember. Oh, playing a Mystic Knight with only a mace. No shield. I wish other classes could use maces. Pawn is a Sorcerer who uses mainly Dark spells.
  18. I hear it's pretty good, though. Not Galaxy good, but still good.
  19. Going to try that. Thanks. Edit: And it worked. Hooray! Downloading Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen and Hotline Miami. Maybe Dark Arisen will be better than the vanilla game.
