Excessive, early and excessively early DLC
Saturnine Tenshi replied to peteer01's topic in General Gaming Chat
I hope TK and Capcom don't eventually set a standard with that. : \ Though I know Capcom do have a history of monetizing their releases . . . the fewer items to monetize the better. -
Oh, add Chihayafuru Season 2 and Baccano! to my ever-growing list of currently watching.

"Could" kill GTA? Bah. SR3 was actually fun. Something I can't really say for GTA. A big part of that is how it doesn't really take itself seriously.

Wel XBC is super well reviewed and the new game is basically a sequel so I t they'll be pulling another Xenosaga. I wouldn't call that series awful though... but it certainly wasn't great! To each his own I suppose. I did try to run Xenoblade on Dolphin, but I couldn't fix the sound issues (despite using all the tips/patches I could find). Couldn't really justify purchasing it either because the only Wii I have access to belongs to my little sis, and not the pleasant one.

Don't give a shit about Fire Emblem?! You poor, poor man. But yeah, I wasn't really impressed by anything. SMT and Fire Emblem aren't high on my RPG list. Monolith Soft are hit or miss with their RPGs: Baten Kaitos games were great; Xenosaga games were awful. Haven't played Xenoblade Chronicles.

Already taken care of in PM.

I think it looks dandy.

I loves me some X-rated RPGs.

I was being flippant when I began, so I guess I deserve it in return. That's the thing: this does happen around the world. I think that was on the same day, actually. Maybe not so often with guns, but it happens. And even if it didn't, people aren't going on killing sprees because they have guns. (And let's not forget that there's research by rational anti-gun folk that illustrates no correlation between gun ownership her capita and murder rate.) I'll go search for it again if you like, but I already posted it in the status update and Dean just went on about how UK laws are the best thing since french toast. As far as why it doesn't happen as often . . . well, I don't know that it doesn't happen as often. If that's the case, then it's certainly not an issue of gun ownership and more an issue of the culture of the good old US of A. Which, again, isn't something you're going to change through oversimplification. Because that's how you're acting, Ethan. Maybe not you in particular, but it's this sort of knee-jerk, media-fueled crap that I'd think you guys would be used to. I suppose not.
-
@Ethan: Something unfortunate happened. We must immediately come to sweeping and radical decisions. Something or someone must be blamed or we will not feel better about ourselves and our lives! RIGHT THIS WRONG! NO CHILD LEFT BE—wait, that was something else. You may as well ban people, as they're the lousy good-for-nothings truly responsible for everything.

*Walks into thread. Finds himself bombarded by emotional soccer moms posing as rational people.*

They're pretty damn complicated for the most part (though they'd work for LAN). So probably not. Maybe Johnny would have an idea? Is he even around anymore?

What about the Paradox games?
-
What are you currently playing?
Saturnine Tenshi replied to Cyber Rat's topic in General Gaming Chat
Uh, some War of the Roses. Playstation All-Stars and Skyward Sword occasionally. I haven't really been in the mood to play anything lately. Even Mark of the Ninja—which was a fantastic game—hardly snagged my interest. -
Yeah, well, Spanish is UGLY!

http://www.amazon.com/The-Time-Contempt-Witcher/dp/0316219134/ Woo!

I don't mind linearity, or Jade Empire (though I don't really like it either), but it was around that time that Elevation Partners happened. And that's what ultimately led to them and EA.
-
CD Projekt RED would have to make some pretty uncharacteristic decisions for me to not plan on buying this game. Something like . . . Bioware circa Jade Empire (and beyond).
