  1. Haha... well, I'm nearing it. Most of the fellas I play with are well over thirty or nearing it themselves. That's not to say age is the precursor to maturity, but it definitely helps. We've been dying out lately, unfortunately. Not literally. XD Spread across too many games. Though I predict BF3 will cull us together once more, if temporarily. You so old. The website has moved, but there's an explanation of the group here. If you play anything on PC, we're always looking for folk who value the characteristics we do. Edit: Please don't take my glaring misanthropy and/or perversity as a representation of the group. I usually don't discuss it elsewhere in order to refrain from blemishing its image.
  2. Obtained all endings in NieR. I feel like the the second through fourth endings should have been combined into something less disappointing.
  3. Then it should be referred to by devs as "Single-Player Tutorial" and not "Single-Player Campaign Afterthought". I was typing more tongue-in-cheek there. While I do maintain that people are, by and large, friggin' dimwitted, there are some transient exceptions. People that, for any odd reason, will suspend that trait to be cordial online. I play with my Over 30 Club folk whenever I can for that very reason.
  4. Depends on the game. When I'm wrapping myself around the contours of a story, there is a time when things should come together, not be dragged along for buffer. But I play for single-player experiences, none of this social gaming bullshit. I'm not a jock looking to fortify my libido by hangin' with my bros. I'm looking to play a god damn video game. While I do play multi-player games, that content never factors into my judgment. Single-player experiences should hold up of their own substance, not by the pillar of multi-player promises. As such, these half-assed four-hour campaigns do not please me.
  5. Exploration doesn't feel very rewarding. Also, it's a pain in the ass to get back up.
  6. Finished ending "B" in NieR. Really, it didn't make me feel like an asshole or bearer of ignominy. I was doing what I had to do, just as they were. If I was in the hero's position and still understood, I'd be swinging my sword with abandon. Nothin' like lambastin' in the name of subjective righteousness! Presently working on the trophies for weapon upgrades, so that's a real bitch. Farming rare materials. >.>
  7. *looks* *looks harder* *looks harder* How is Touhou Project not in here!?
  8. It'll probably be available for pre-order by the end of next month. Hopefully the include something nifty with the NISA edition. The paperweight included with the Japanese limited edition would please me: As you can see from the end of the video, the game is bundled with an art book and soundtrack. I'd like to say that means they aren't going to bundle a soundtrack with the game, but they've added a "special" soundtrack in the past(Ar tonelico II). I just prefer something special if I'm going to get a limited edition. It's the reason I passed on the RQ bundle for Rorona.
  9. Friggin' lovely, Cyber. Friggin' lovely. The NieR OST is possessed of the sort of sorrow I yearn for.
  10. A trailer for a game whose similar trailers were trailered in trailer fashion about a year ago.
  11. Yes, yes it is. My life has been, for the past few days, shrouded in the mantle of delirious melancholy authored by vodka and Nier. As such, the soundtrack has become a sort of atmosphere fitting life (dis)harmony. It's a melodious beast.
  12. In my nearly unrelenting run with Nier, I forgot to download the latest Nichijou and Hanasaku Iroha yesterday. FUUU. I have Yumekui Merry downloaded... but I don't know if I want to start that yet. Poop. I need to find something new.
  13. Obtained the first ending for Nier. I'm on the way to platinum and, consequently, unearth the remainder of the story. So there's that. Three more endings to go. Had some funds in my wallet, so I downloaded the quest for his wife. If it continues on this course, I'll say it's my second favorite current-gen affair. RPGamer used this wording when discussing Nier, and I think it's appropriate: "Much better than the sum of its parts."
  14. Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai... Kamisama Kiss is ongoing, but it started in 2008. (Kamisama Kiss is actually Kamisama Hajimemashita in Japanese... not sure where the "kiss" comes from. She doesn't kiss everyone she meets.)
  15. That should have been 'worst "professional" stuff'.
  16. @Chopin: I'm at the beginning of part two. So far, it's a magnificent little romp, and I'm really diggin' his daughter. Futa-girl is neat, too. The text adventure part was refreshing, and honestly, I can't say anything bad about the game. If I was a graphics whore, I probably could. But I'm not.
  17. Have you tried Monster, Chopin? Funny, Pirandello. I've been reading Kamisama Kiss. SO MANY GODS.
  18. A seven isn't a bad score. The review scope isn't 6-10. It's 1-10. (Not that Game Informer isn't some of the "professional" stuff I've read.)
  19. They take down collector's editions when the game is nearly out.
  20. How do you know if it activates on Steam or not?
  21. This is all just another reason why I avoid games from most of these companies. It's auxiliary, but it's still there and justification enough on its own.
  22. Saints Row 2 is a friggin' magnificent game. Too bad Gamespy sucks.
