  1. I didn't play Blackgate. I very rarely tend to dip into those portable spin-offs (Assassins Creed's many portable versions never so much as perked my ears despite being a rather big fan of AC). The best thing about these Arkham games is the huge fights with tons of faceless goons that go down real easy. It's so satisfying, so why would a game with so much fewer enemies be enticing to me at all?
  2. Speaking of 400 Days... I'm not really sure how that affected S2 that much? I honestly didn't remember much of 400 days, I didn't enjoy it terribly... The only character I actually remember from that was Bonnie... Am I just being forgetful? Yeah some of the choices have been quite good.. There's a bit of a disconnect between what I want to do and what I want Clementine to do, whereas when I was playing as Lee I kinda felt our feelings matched. I know that sounds weird because they're both relatively neutral avatars when it comes to those choices that we decide... The main thing I'm thinking of was (Episode 3 spoilers)
  3. I don't want to play too much of it in fear of ruining it for myself, really. Although I'm being slightly hypocritical because I did watch the forty minute long Giantbomb Quick Look that Vinny and Alex did today. Looks neat!
  4. This is me as a kid, along with my sister. I don't know what I'm dressed as.
  5. Trying to be a bit more active again... If for no other reason then because I'm off work sick at the moment. I will try and keep it up!!

Welcome back...and sorry you're sick. Sick as in a flu? Or something more serious?

      Mr. GOH!

Or sick, as in "sick party, dawg!"

The first kind! Relatively simple illness that should be gone in a day or two.

  6. Gods Will be Watching is coming out tomorrow. I'm pretty psyched. It looks very interesting. Also terribly dark and uncomfortable in times. From what I can gather it's sort of a point and click game? Lots of decisions... Pretty pixels... Will anyone else be playing? I'm kinda starting this thread so we can talk about decisions and the like when we actually play it (presuming I'm not the only one interested).
  7. Which Arkham game are we talking about? I'm sure none of them had counters that broke combos? I've not played any of them in some time but I'm almost certain... Yeah none of them broke combos.
  8. That's encouraging... I'm gonna play some more maybe tonight or tomorrow? (I'm off work sick at the minute so got some time to lounge around, feeling sorry for myself and playing video games) and I want to try and really sink my teeth into it.. It feels like one of those games that you need to play just enough for it to really click with you and then you'll probably love it... I had a similar relationship with Spelunky. Hopefully I can get used to its little old school shenanigans like no quest markers and the like.
  9. Controlling two characters dialogue is weird... You can use their answers to influence their stats sometimes, but then you run the risk of having the MC's disagree with one another which then leads to some luck of the draw games of Rock Paper Scissors with an AI. If you lose then you don't get whatever you were arguing for/against... I missed out on an easy quest because I had my MC's disagree with one another as to whether to take it or not..
  10. Totally me too. I think I heard on the grapevine (certainly didn't actually see an article) that the creator of Fables wasn't entirely happy with the way the story went though, so that might jeopardise any chances..
  11. I binge played the whole thing. I really enjoyed it. In fact, it made me purchase the first three volumes of the Fables deluxe edition collections! They're also rather good... ANYWAY, ending thoughts. I would love a season two, but as I understand it, it's kinda tricky. I mean, The Wolf Among Us is apparently set before the comics began, so eventually they need to let the stories that have happened happen. I feel like some stuff in the comics has kinda been retconned by the game but I've not read far enough to know for sure.
  12. So is anyone playing Original Sin? I bought it once I started seeing just how good the reaction was, and I've been kinda enjoying it.. I mean, not overly or anything, but I do really admire it for what it is going for. The old school, strictly PC RPG with tons of reading and intimidating skill and character sheets and the like. I've not put enough hours into it to really know whether or not I love it as much as everyone else does. I'm curious to hear other peoples opinions on it.
  13. Yep, I played it. I immediately fell like I fucked up multiple times. Obviously epiosode 4 spoilers: I really rather enjoyed it though. I've not been around to read most of this thread. How do people think season 2 is shaping up compared to where we were with season one at this point? To be honest, I enjoyed season one more, if not purely because it was more about Lee and Clem's relationship, whereas this is more... I dunno, just about Clem, kinda? I dunno, I still love it.
  14. LOVING Dark Souls 2. I started off feeling like it was easier than DS 1 for a bit but it was just lulling me into a false sense of security. It's ramped up, and I'm dying a lot. Praise the Sun!

Yeah reviews I've read are saying that for the first couple of hours the game is fairly easy, then it goes crazy with the difficulty. I've heard more complaints than praising over the enemies' new erratic behavior when fighting though.

I'd even go so far as to say the first ten hours or so are pretty easy, but right now I'm pulling my god damned hair out trying to beat this one boss.

      Mr. GOH!

      I cannot wait for DS2.

  15. I completed Dark Souls! I got that game on launch day, btw, and have repeatedly given up and started again, and I finished it last week. Feels good!

      *slow hand clap* Bravo, sir

  16. I basically can't stop playing Spelunky. Almost 900 tries and only one win. Bleugh.
  17. Five days off work now, woop.

I expect the entire board to be filled with your posts. Get drunk, get to it and don't disappoint me.

Haha I'm broke so there won't be much drinking unfortunately, though I do have tons left over from christmas! Mostly it'll be chilling with my significant other, playing video games and not getting dressed.

Naked video gaming is the best.

  18. I own it, in a moment of madness I bought it and I played it for around three hours or so and didn't really care for it. Not sure what I was expecting, I didn't really ever enjoy Sim City but I thought maybe I could go in for the simpler, more generally appealing version, but yeah. Making it offline isn't going to make me play it anymore, and I also think it's probably something to do with the fact they're going to take everything offline, in which case they better make the city sizes a damn sight bigger, and soon. Hopefully more support for mods if it goes fully offline though, we'll see.
  19. Is Kerbal Space Program supposed to be all trial and error or am I missing something obvious?

Yes it's supposed to be trial and error, from what I've heard about it.

Or looking on forums/looking at Apollo/Soyuz designs.

  20. Yeah but it was still a cliffhanger in the sense that I wanted to know what the hell he was gonna do about it and I had to wait for just under a year to find out.
  21. Hahah didn't you guys catch up before the season 5 break? Now THAT was an agnoising wait.
  22. Hah, yeah I mean I understand why they did it the way they've done it and it does make sense.. I mean if I really wanted to game the system I could just change the system date or whatever (would fuck over my turnips but eh) but to be honest I'm relatively happy with it, it's just I've only been playing for five days now and I'm kinda just waiting for more stuff to become available to me now that I've done a few expansions and built some shit.
  23. I dunno, I'm still on my first game and I hate the dragon class. It sounded cool in theory but I can do very little with all that mobility and limited attacking. Maybe more useful to more skilled players but I suck with it, heh.
  24. So I bought a 3DS XL on pay day, along with this. Good fun game, I spend a lot of time in it at the moment though I'm slowly running out of things to do... I mean I'm still trying to fill up the museum and get my house bigger and what-not, but y'know how Animal Crossing tends to be. Apparently I've gotta have it a week before I start unlocking more stuff.
  25. I got it a few days ago, and I'm at that point with Civ V that I get so burnt out before I even get to the medieval period that I'm not really seeing any benefits from the new features in this game yet. I dunno, at some point maybe I'll start a game in the industrial era or whatever but maybe the promise of new things in the mid-to-late game and stuff just isn't enough to keep me slogging through the early game anymore.
