  1. Yeah. I know what you mean. Getting the the motivation and energy to do it takes some time before it becomes routine. Once it does, it should be easy. Maybe jogging's not her thing? Try boxing as well. That's one of the most tiring things I've ever done in my life. One 3 minute mitt round (with medium to heavy impact) will do wonders. Of course your arms, forearms, back will hurt like hell at first, but the payoff will be amazing. It could also be fun seeing as you're a couple.
  2. Hey! This post is going to be self-grandizing. Yep. I admit it. So please don't trash me or fill the thread with hate posts. Reason I'm posting is aside from contributing for a Battlefield site, I just got a news contributor job for a videogame website. I work at home so I don't see this being too much of a problem time management-wise. I don't want to name the site just yet. They are a pretty big network. I will act as a news contributor/Asian correspondent of sorts. Funny thing is the EIC actually emailed me this: "Covering the Asian gaming scene would be awesome. None of that random Japanese culture crap Bashcraft does on Kotaku, now. As long as it's actually gaming-related and entertaining/informative for our readers, I'm good with it." I actually laughed when I read that. Anyway, what sort of topics would you guys be interested in seeing? My US Military article will most probably be hosted by them. I will link it of course. Oh, and as for support, the site does need hits to make money. And those hits are somewhat connected to my pay...In short, drop by there you scoundrels! They also let people comment on articles and whatnot. I'll post the name of the site once I review the policy and see how it is first. Yep. I may be a pompous tool, but you guys kinda know me. So I'm your pompous tool.
  3. Try jogging through the park. If you're planning on going to the gym, I recommend having a logical goal. Nothing like you weigh 200 pounds and you want to be 160 in a month. I mean you want to lose 5 pounds in a month. Something like that. Also remember that muscles are heavier than fat. So even if you're still 180 after all that working out it might mean that the fat got turned into muscle. I love lifting weights. Don't know why but I do.
  4. I actually agree on this. I mean unless you're 12 or 15, you should be able to write the whole text down. Unless you're driving, being attacked by sharks, etc. Some words are ok. But typing "Ei U wr we gna go 2nte dog?" Is just wrong. To reiterate, I am not a grammar-nazi. I just hate "then" and "than" being mixed up. Punctuation errors, etc. Are perfectly fine. Oh, I also hate it when I read the words "MEH". I mean there's a game preview and you scroll to the comments section and see "MEH" written. That's it. No additional words why "meh" was warranted. Please tell me I'm not the only one...
  5. Same with me. I normally dick around and get bored with it. I'm ok with my games being linear from time to time to be honest.
  6. Unless they're willing to change some gameplay mechanics from our feedback. well i would sure as hell hope so. gotta at least do a server stress test and whatnot right? Yeah. I think that's the "beta" thing right there. I'll help stress test it. Who knows though? I might even like it. It looks like CoD's gameplay but more "realistic". Yeah. That statement is weird, but the perks do make sense because of the Nanosuit. Unlike CoD where being super fast, super-knifer is something the government injects into you or something.
  7. Technically, it's not a Rockstar game. It's a Team Bondi game being published by Rockstar. Although a lot of the UI and combat looks very Rockstar-like... Erm...Yeah. What you said. Hopefully this will be the first Rockstar/Take-Two sandbox game I finish. Please let it be it! Sandbox games bore me I have no idea why...
  8. Yeah. I mean comments of the week were replaced with Photoshop contests? WTF? How is that better? Star system was fantastic at first. Now? Everyone has one and they don't care if they have one.
  9. I have one. It's the misuse of "then" with "than". Holy shit! Even big sites are doing it now! I mean, I'm not American. I'm from Asia. English is our secondary language, but I know how to use it properly. Not like I'm a grammar-Nazi by any means. Just that word. Fuck! I hate it more then Activision! Heehee...See what I did there? Yep. I'm lame.
  10. Yeah. It's kinda hit or miss from time to time. I honestly have no idea why I have a star. I don't comment on controversial topics much. Don't think I've ever commented about the meaning of life or something as deep. I mostly make jokes, be crude and whatnot. And I tend to curse...A LOT! Up to now I don't hold my tongue and they seem ok with it. I don't attack anyone directly of course. Makes me think it's more of a "if I like you you get a star" thing. Which is alright. But some of the photo winners are dicks. And not in a good way.
  11. I mean that they're going to be using the term "beta". But the game's done so it's not really a beta. Unless they give us the beta build. Demo, beta in this case is kinda moot I think. Unless they're willing to change some gameplay mechanics from our feedback. I do want to try it out though.
  12. PS3 footage incoming... Finally confirmation that PS3 users will get a MP "beta". Use that term lightly as I know it'll be a demo more than anything. You guys been liking the MP from what you tasted?
  13. Ok. I'll admit it. I have never finished a Rockstar game...Ever! I liked GTA4. RDR? Got bored with it. Yes. Flame me all you want but I fell asleep playing it. I'm really hoping LA NOIRE breaks that. I love the setting. The story seems to be top-notch. I like that it focuses more on the narrative than "free-roaming, kill everyone" theme that most sandbox games do. I just hope the detecting parts aren't repetitive. This game kinda reminds me of Heavy Rain for some reason. In a good way. I loved Heavy Rain.
  14. Good to see you finally post something here. Yep. We're a couple of the BF nutters in Kotaku. We're one of the many I reckon...You seen how many people commented and viewed the BF3 gameplay clip from kotaku? Highest one so far since the new site redesign...
  15. Yeah. That's what I was thinking. They can tweak the maps to make it more compact, but how will jets fare? I know I don't want to be in a map where the jet can blitz through in about 2-3 seconds through the whole map.
  16. Gah. I went digging through the old TAY and the old Kotaku massacre posts trying to find the "After Today, Stars Have No Meaning" image...or something along those lines. Thought it would be appropriate. Was a bit sad to see the "This Is Kotaku" article talking about how important commenters are were. Lol! Stars are losing their meaning. It used to mean that the person with the star meant that he/she is NOT a troll, knows how to handle criticism and has the grammatical capabilities of at least a HS student. Now? Just do a good photo job and promote, let everyone in! I think you don't need photoshop skill to get a star, I once saw a guy correcting a fact for Owen sport article (about football) and get starred. Maybe we should throw a giant Kotaku party so we can all get starred. Oh btw, hi Excaliburps. What?? Damn...Was it a big correction? A spelling mistake? There was a time when stars were given out because the comments were insightful, funny, had depth, etc. I had no idea why I have one though. Haha! I kid! In all seriousness, it should be given to people who deserve it. In the context of commenting. At least that's what I think.

  18. @peteer01: Yeah. If you're not going to be going to the gym consistently, at least do something physical. A lot of people don't know it but brisk walking (Not even running) burns a lot of fat. And proper diet. If you eat a lot don't assume everything's hopeless. You can eat a lot and be fit. I used to have "cheat" days myself. I'd watch what I eat everyday except on Sundays. On Sundays I eat whatever I want. cakes, pizza, etc. As long as you're burning those off the rest of the week, that should be enough. Depends on what you're after. Just a normal, non-pudgy body is easy enough. Abs? Chest And being able to fill out those clothes sexily? You have to work out. @ForgetfulBrain: I know what you mean.My advice is go with a buddy. It's easier to work out when someone's motivating you. This has also been confirmed to be a fact. If you go to the gym and work out. And you stop for a week, chances are you won't be coming back for at least a month. The first month is always the hardest one. Body ache, having the motivation to do it, etc. Once you get past that, and people start noticing you're putting on muscle and whatnot you'll be motivated yourself. If I lived near or was in the same country as you guys I'd help you out. No joke. I'd drag you to the gym if I had to. That's what I do here with some of the people I know now.
  19. I consider myself fit. Well, physically that is. I mean I'm turning 30 this year. So, I stopped smoking last Dec. Haven't had even a puff since. I do go to the gym about 3-5 times a week. And that is the solution, my friends. By "going to the gym" I don't mean going there and using the treadmill, cardio machine for 10 minutes and then going home. Nope. Do weight-lifting. Use a whole body program for at least 2-3 weeks to adapt your body to the pain, soreness, etc. And trust me. You will be sore. After that, use splits as a program. If you guys need any help I'm willing. Me and my brother are heavy into weights, martial arts, etc. Some people find it surprising that I'm a nerd when they see me in-person. Not sounding like an ass or bragging, but we have to admit. Nerds aren't known for their physique or for being physically active. For diet? I recommend NOT drinking anything in a can. Water. Just water. FYI a can of Coke is equivalent to 1 Hershey bar. If you're feeling the munchies I recommend nuts, crackers, etc. Things that will make you feel full. Anyone here who's a weight-lifting/Martial arts junkie as well?
  20. They seem to be banning people much less these days. I've only gotten 2-3 people banned my whole time in Kotaku. Mostly those annoying gits who troll around and attack other people for no reason other than to get attention. I did have one kid who constantly followed me around and insulted me. His name had something to do with Zelda, Link. Funny stuff! He even quoted me in a past post about how I referred to my then-GF as my wife, etc. Basically, it was a bit creepy. I think tl;dr's, is this news, etc. Should be given a warning first. If they continue, ban 'em. Attacking other commenters? Insta-ban especially if they're hurling insults, slurs at 'em. People seem to forget that you can disagree on things without pissing the other people off. Oh, and the usual "MEH" post? God I hate those. If you don't like a game, don't post! Unless you hate something and you have something substantial to say. Seems kinda pointless the bannings now. I mean commenters are getting fewer and fewer. Of course the eds don't want to further lose the remaining readers. And the fact that everyone gets stars now even for bloody photo contests makes the "approving commneters" accounts a bit moot.
  21. Awwwwww... You're not half-bad yourself. Haha! Thanks! Someone seriously needs to show her how to apply make-up. She seems to make herself pale and then go 'Hmm, can people still see I have cheekbones?' PHWOOM! BLUSHER OVERLOAD! Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one who see it this way. Seriously? The people in front of the camera can't see this? She could give Pennywise the Clown a run for his money! Again, not saying she's ugly. As she's not. Just a tad too much make-up in all the wrong places. That's also what I thought. To the point that it got distracting. I mean I seriously thought flakes of powder would fall of every time her face contorted or when she moved...Well, she can transport coke using that make-up method. I heard that pays well. Spoony signed up on the last place. Not sure if he joined in, if he did it was only a couple of times. Out of the two I'd say it was Witz who was a bit trigger happy. Ah...So what are your impressions of them? Same with the Tay peeps. Like 'em? I do want to say something but do not want to come off as a dick. My experience that's all. Also, the CA page has been updating again! Nice. I tried using the new page. Ugh. Replies not showing, didn't load, etc. I tried the CA page again and it works!
  22. Oh, right. I've seen that now. I don't think that was Kotaku's idea. She seems to like doing that sort of thing. Example: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/top-5-with-lisa-foiles Not sure if I should thank you, or hurl insults at you for that link. Watching a few now...Hmm. Related to gaming? Yep. Interesting? Erm not really...Is Lisa hot? Depends. Yes, when I can see her cleavage and whatnot. Not when she looks like she just got out of a foundation bath. She's not white...She's like albino-white and she still powders herself to make her even more white. It's like if I'm drinking coffee and I see her, I'll just tap her face to get some powder in my cup, yknow? Ok, that was a bit rude. Don't tell me I'm the only one who feels this way. Not saying she's ugly. Just the makeup...Reminds me of the Joker from the old Batman series. Cesar Romero was it?
  23. Speaking of which, is he/was he (Witzbold) ever here? SpoonyBard was also a mod, I think something came up that necessitated the eds taking the hammer themselves. I mean I'm generally a very easy guy to get along with. At least I think. I'm not confrontational when it comes to forums etc. I am in-person though. Anyhoo, my point is I seem to remember an issue with the banhammer and the former wielders as getting out of hand or something. Keep in mind this was a few years ago so my memory might be failing me. Out of the two, Spoony was more active with the banhammer. I seem to remember jokes and whatnot getting banned. Witz? I think he knows Bash from Japan. Yeah. He did get unstarred a lot. I've encountered him in other forums. He's ok. Not as nice as you guys. Shan't say anything more than that. Oh, and please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks it's 'tard idea giving stars to winners of the photo contests and TAY pics. Seriously, that's why there are a lot of approved comments that suck. Same with promoted comments that shouldn't even be considered. Ugh. Just now I saw someone trolling with a star. Well, not trolling but posting the usual "meh" "I hate everything I'm not impressed bec I'm cool". post. Annoying...
  24. Yeah, that's me. My current Kotaku account is -MasterDex-. I'm not sure why I was banned and any emails to the eds (and at the time, banhammer wielder Prinny) went ignored...apart from Crecente who told me that no one gets unbanned, no matter the reason. I believe it was because I defended Excel_excel in a thread. Have you got a link to that account? I could find the comments I think I got banned for. So, Witzbold banned you? Hmm. You can get unbanned from what I know. Not sure why Crecente told you that. I distinctly remember someone had their account hacked and was banned for it. He was able to prove it wasn't him trolling and they got his account back up again. I'm fortunate enough to have never gotten banned/unstarred ever. I mostly post stupid things and whatnot so maybe that's it. Do any of you know the reason why the ban-hammer was given back to the eds instead of the "we give you $100-$200 a month to monitor the boards" thing they used to do? Oh, and good god! The kotaku commenters left there are swimming against a pile of fetid kids with the knows-it-alls syndrome! It's quite painful to read...
  25. Unfortunately, you're sure to be right about the console version looking inferior. But if it looks anything close to this I'm alright. Game looks freakishly good. Oh, thanks for the clip!
