  1. Is anyone playing Dungeon Defenders on PS3? If so, feel free to send me an invite (PristineSneakers). If not, make it your business to try the demo on the platform of your choice. The game is very addictive.

  2. I don't care where they set it, just make sure Fernando Martinez is back on the air God damnit! I missed him badly in IV.
  3. You mean it isn't a way to have users moderate your site for free anymore while making them feel superior? Seriously, the whole thing always seemed like the internet equivalent of being a hall monitor.
  4. Amazing shirt. Just a heads up because it was so awesome last year that Halloween can't come soon enough this year, and I just can't hide my excitement. I will have some seriously retarded pics coming on 11/1/11. It's two bands for me this year, maybe even three! The Cure is the solid one, and the additional one(s) will be The Clash and/or Green Day (of the mid-late 90's). Still ironing that out. As long as these shows keep happening every year, Halloween is my new favorite Holiday. That's probably the coolest fucking thing I've ever heard of. It is pretty awesome, but unfortunately we got cancelled this year. Not exactly, the organizer cut contact for a couple of weeks, and my band assumed (and who can blame them?) we were getting blown off for one reason or another, and decided to make other plans. It's a serious disappointment (especially when you consider I've probably spent a hundred bucks on rehearsals between studio fees and tolls), but oh well. There's always next year I guess.
  5. http://www.davidjaffe.biz/# I used to be on the fence with Jaffe, but as time goes on I lean more towards liking him. I now think it's a good thing when he opens his mouth.
  6. I might give it a shot again. your mention of the album Free All Angels made me remember that there was another one on the album I dug, Angel Interceptor. I'll probably dig the CD out tomorrow and throw it on the old MP3 player.
  7. Woah, I completely forgot those guys existed. I remember really liking that song Kung-Fu that they did (featured in Rumble in the Bronx), and also kinda dug Jack Names the Planets on the Angus soundtrack. Wasn't that into them when I picked the album (I think it was called 1977?) up though. I remember hearing about them showing up at some Hollywood-ish event and getting totally wasted and puking all over, so they're at least kinda cool in my book.
  8. http://www.vg247.com/2011/10/25/grand-theft-auto-v-announced/ Hi baby. I've missed you.
  9. Holy shit, a perfect 10 from IGN. Others too, but I'm surprised to see it from IGN.

Friday's Halloween party will be awesome. Especially if I can convince someone to be Peggy with me.

Brown slacks and cheap shoes while singing the theme song to Psycho Dad. Sounds great!

Haha pretty much. I really wanted to get the football gear and go all out, but it's a little rough on my budget. You know I'll be taking pictures in the classic pose though =)

  10. Dam, I haven't listened to this album in years! I'm sure if I had my portable CD player from back when this came out, I'd be able to spot the imprint of the CD art on the inside of the lid. Aaaand now I just discovered that they finally came out with a Blackout 2 in 2009.... So excuse me.
  11. This, and also the stuff inside isn't the only aspect of the hardware that alienated the Wii from other consoles. Many games would've been silly with waggling awkwardly incorporated, as I'm pretty sure is mandatory for anything that isn't a virtual console game. I could be mistaken about that, but if not, I'd bet a lot of money that that was a major deciding factor in 3rd party developers ignoring the Wii with multiplats.
  12. I think it's only natural considering the fact that for 2 straight console generations during a very significant developmental stage of the medium's adoption as a serious passtime, Nintendo dominated, without question. There are plenty of gamers whose childhood and introduction to gaming happened during the Nintendo era. Sega was doing it's thing, but Nintendo was a household name, and practically synonymous with video games at the time. While it wasn't my cup of tea (past the first-party titles), the N64 made a lot of people happy too, so we're looking at a legion of gamers who were well served by Nintendo consoles for about 15 years, and more if Gamecube was their console of choice. The fact that people felt an attachment to them isn't surprising to me, as I remember how long it took me to get a Playstation when I finally realized that Nintendo wasn't going to come through for me this time. I don't think anyone would take a bullet for Shigeru Miyamoto when they say they loved them, but just that they brought them so much great entertainment in the past. I hear the complaints about feeling neglected too. I understand that they're in the business of business, but it's like hearing your favorite band go to shit, or adopt a poppier sound to appeal to a broader audience. The people whose backs that band's success was built on are bound to feel a little resentment.
  13. Scoring a game lower is a bit extreme, but I definitely think a writer should include the fact in a review. I wouldn't be surprised to see larger sites like IGN and Gamespot even develop a little icon to put next to their review score to indicate it. I'd definitely appreciate it.
  14. They haven't been king in my eyes ever since (and during) the N64. They don't seem to care much about anything else once they get their Marios and Zeldas in line, and while those series have spawned some of the greatest games ever, I need a real library on my console. I shouldn't be able to afford every single good game a system has to offer. Losing the FF franchise really was the beginning of the end for them, as far as I'm concerned. I'd love for them to reclaim that crown, or at least put up a good fight for it, but the WiiU seems to indicate the opposite. They want to create another sales phenomenon by wowing people with that half-baked tablet monstrosity instead. Next gen isn't that close, but it's already looking like I'll be in the Sony camp again, or possibly MS if Sony manage to piss me off enough between now and then.
  15. If gaming were booze, cosplay is the point of the activity where one must admit they have a problem. I told myself I wasn't going to do it since holsters aren't cheap, but fate has called my bluff, and my friend has a perfect one. Looks like I might be Max Payne (from MP3, fat, old & dirty) at Comicon ...

Haha if I wind up actually doing this I will certainly post a pic or two on here. I'm a little nervous about the whole posing-for-pics thing that cosplayers are expected to do with people. It wasn't so intimidating when my two friends were going to go as Alice (McGee's) and Mad Hatter, but they may be backing out of that. We'll see what happens.

  16. God, I can't believe I've got Dark Souls sitting here and I'm about to do more Bleach grinding tonight. I really need to get my priorities straight.

  17. I'm sorry but the next arc is going to make it worse. I actually was still enjoying things around 216 (unless I'm mistaken that's around the time everyone starts squaring off in fake Karakura town), and looking forward to a really satisfying climax. Instead I was treated to the lamest arc ending ever and a new storyline that tastes suspiciously like filler. This after Kubo announcing that he wants Bleach to last another decade, or some nonsense to that effect. I've been reading the manga again after a few months break, but it'll never be the same. If he wanted to continue the series with some dignity, the entire Aizen-driven plotline should have been wrapped up in a satisfactory manner, and the series given a reboot of a new story line altogether that incorporates a bunch of the loose ends he left lying around in recent years. That's as much as I can say without spoiling anything...
  18. Oct. 4th for the first (free) DLC pack. About time.
  19. This song is way too hot (as in sexy) to be listened to by a stubble-faced dude playing video games all alone. Someone go use this appropriately, please. You're welcome.
  20. Aww dam, no you didn't.... Can I get a link though? *grabs popcorn* Just joking. Sort of. Anyway, I'd hoped to find a better shot of the scene, but this is for you.
  21. This might be my favorite thread in here. There is something so familiar or easy to relate to in every one of these... In a way it's a better way of getting to know someone (for general purposes in an online community of gamers) than hundreds of forums posts. In a way. Always good reads.
  22. Don't ask how.... Tunes like this make me want to finish pursuing old plans of making a video of my Skate 3 character tearing up the town. It's just such a sloooow process.
