  1. Yeah, same here. I think I got spoiled online but it's kinda hard to tell for sure because I've been saying the same thing since the initial reveal. Could've easily just been someone guessing/stating the obvious.
  2. That fall 2015 thing has nothing to do with this, it's the release window for the SteamOS, Linux and Mac versions. It was most likely there before the game was pulled from sale.
  3. I was gonna wait a bit, maybe until a sale, but it was so cheap on Nuuvem that I couldn't resist. Might play it while I wait for Arkham Knight to get patched up. RIP DMC. I know a lot of people have bee asking for DMC5 for years but, personally, DmC 2 is what I really wanted. It's pretty obvious that the ship has sailed on that one, though. So, hopefully this sells enough for the morons at Capcom to wanna keep making them. A proper DMC3 remaster would make me so happy.
  4. Kinda makes you wonder if there's any truth to the claims that Iron Galaxy only had two months to port the game. I mean, that sounds fucking ridiculous but they did the port of Arkham Origins as well, and while that was also a buggy mess at launch, it still had a respectable graphical settings option menu. The one in Arkham Knight is a fucking joke. I mean, AA is an on/off toggle for fuck's sake!
  5. Yeah, any race-type missions have been absolutely fucking awful so far. But just using the batmobile in general to move around is pure joy. I find myself calling it even when it would probably be faster to just glide. This is the most confusing thing of this whole mess. There's no reason for them to actually remove that, so it has to be some kind of bug. The game is playable enough on my rig but I think I'll hold off until the first patch anyway. I made the mistake of starting a new Trails in the Sky playthrough like 2 days before AK came out, and I've been feeling like playing that more anyway...
  6. Yeah but I wouldn't say it's bad. It's much closer to DMC1 and 3 than it is to DMC2, it's just not as good. I really wish DMC3 was the one getting the makeover treatment, though. It sounds like the current PC version is fucking awful.
  7. I was kind of way off with my snark here, which was a pleasant surprise. There was PC talk at their conference whatsoever but they did show up at the PC Gaming Show. No Halo MCC but the Gears remaster is coming to PC and it they hinted Gears 4 might follow. Overall, it wasn't much but it was more than I honestly expected from them. I'm still not convinced considering they consistently failed to follow through on their claims in the past, but this could be a good start for them. Then again, it could easily be a completely temporary thing that's only meant to give a boost to early Windows 10 adoption. I have no idea, I missed their thing. From what I heard, it sucked pretty bad? Wait, I totally called Star Fox! And I'm going to assume that "a bunch of shit nobody cares about" was also dead on. Well, other than Horizon and Vita being ignored, I was way off here. Nothing specific for P5 other than reassurance that it's still a 2015 title. Surprisingly enough, I was wrong about W_D 2. But thank fucking God I was right about Dishonored 2. Also ME but that's whatever. I'm actually kinda surprised S-E didn't confirm FFXV PC at either their show or the PC Gaming one, though. We all know it's coming. Then again, they also didn't really acknowledge the Type-0 HD port, as far as I'm aware. It just kinda showed up on Steam. What's marketing, precious?
  8. Ys. Lots and lots of Ys. So, like a couple weeks ago I didn't know what to play and on a whim decided to replay Ys II. I'd done the same thing with Ys I a couple months back so I'd been meaning to do II as well at some point. But after I beat it I wanted more. I still needed to replay Ys Origin as the second character, so that's what I did. Then I did it again as the "secret" unlockable character, which as it turns out is how you get to the true final boss and get the true ending, which I didn't even know was a thing in that game. So that was pretty cool. Then, with surprisingly perfect timing, the Ys games went on sale on the same night I finished Ys Origin, so I bought Ark of Napishtim. But figured what the hell, I'll replay Oath in Felghana as well while I'm at it. I skipped Memories of Celceta, though, since it's almost twice as long as the others and I didn't really feel like switching to Vita. Anyway, that brings us to Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, which was my first new Ys game since I played Memories of Celceta last summer. It's based on the same engine/formula as Origin and Felghana but it was the first of that "trilogy" so it's not as refined. The combat is a little more clunky and being able to carry healing items and use them during boss fights makes the game significantly less challenging. Plus, there's some seriously annoying enemies that you can't damage until you do a drop attack to stun them. And they're usually found in large groups and can easily catch you in some bullshit stunlock, which can kill you near instantly if you're even a little under-leveled. That was fucking infuriating at times. The story was pretty good, though. Replaying all the games back-to-back really helped me get a better grasp on the few minor overarching plot threads that carry on between the games and Napishtim ties really nicely into that. Overall, I thought it was neither the best nor the worst Ys. I think I'd rank it above I and II but below Origin, Felghana and Celceta. I wasn't really planning to marathon the series like that but these games are just so much fun! The way they have as minimal a story as possible and instead focus on that fast-paced combat and sweet soundtrack just makes them a joy to breeze through. They're so replayable I could actually see myself doing this again every time a new one comes out. Speaking of which, I need Memories of Celceta and Seven on Steam. I don't care what it takes, XSEED, just make it happen! Honestly, I don't think I can go back to playing Ys on a handheld now. I mean, obviously I'll buy the new one for Vita since that's most likely going to be my only option, but I don't think I'll ever touch the PSP versions of the first three games again.
  9. So, you guys aren't buying much, uh? I've heard great things about The Fall, so I've had my eye on it for a while. It was a no-brainer at 2 bucks. And fucking finally, Trails in the Sky got a damn flash deal! I was planning to replay it this week but I didn't expect it would only show up at the very end of the damn sale. There's no way I could possibly finish it before Arkham Knight comes out, so it's gonna have to wait until after I'm done with that. So, with Ys Napishtim, TitS and the Neptunia games, that's pretty much everything I really wanted out of this sale. At this point, I shouldn't be buying anything else. I probably will, because I'm an idiot, but I really shouldn't. Though the only big purchase I could possibly make at this point is if Scholar of the First Sin gets a good daily tomorrow. I already gave a pass to everything else that was on my list. I'll probably just grab a few more dirt cheap games on the last day or something.
  10. I idled for most of my card drops and made like 15 bucks selling them. So, this cost me about 4$. I'm really glad I didn't get Re;Birth 2 when it came out a couple weeks ago. It was very tempting at 50% off and I never expected it would go even lower than that so quickly. Seriously, I mean, 70% off this soon is kinda nuts. They already did that whole 50% off the first week, so who knows what the hell they're thinking, but I have to wonder if it didn't bomb pretty hard compared to the first game. Not that I'm complaining. Now to get the DLC or not... edit: Fuck it, it's dirt cheap. Grabbed all the DLC for both games.
  11. It could've been better, sure, but it also could've been oh so much worse. You have no idea how bad I actually expected this thing to be. But it was two and a half hours long and I thought that even the most objectively boring parts were still much more interesting than the bullshit and corporate wanking we usually get at these things. There was no bragging about userbase size, no bullshit like TV or whatever and none of that "isn't our brand just the fucking best, you guys?!" nonsense. That's a massive improvement in my book.
  12. Yeah, saw that after. I still think you're looking at this wrong but at this point I'll just leave it at "that's your prerogative". This is a show organized by a news outlet and sponsored by a GPU manufacturer. I mean, who could possibly make that kind of megaton announcement that wouldn't have already done so at either their own conference or one of the big threes'? I'm pretty sure the biggest you can realistically expect is MS and Blizzard. Short of hell freezing over and Valve making a surprise appearance to announce Half-Life 3, I don't see any kind of major, industry-shaking announcement coming out of this. And come to think of it, wouldn't that be just the most appropriate possible closing announcement for this E3? The Last Guardian. Final Fantasy VII Remake. Shenmue III. Half-life motherfucking 3.
  13. Right but those are the genres that PC exclusives tend to fall into, so again, not sure what your logic was there. The only games that are exclusive to PC these days are the games that can't work on consoles. It just doesn't make sense to leave that money on the table otherwise. I also hope they have something big for the end but I'm not holding my breath. And even if they don't, overall the show more than delivered for me. It was significantly better than I expected.
  14. I'm not sure what kind of PC exclusives you had in mind but that was a pretty unrealistic expectation to begin with. You say you don't give a shit about Total War and Killing Floor but those are the kind of games that are PC exclusives. Lol, you kinda sound like you just have no idea what you wanted out of this and are complaining just for the sake of complaining. Like I said, you're probably not in the demographic they're targeting with this. I also wouldn't call Gears Ultimate a 10 years old port but whatever. It's a remaster, fair enough. But it's not like that's the only thing they've shown.
  15. Doesn't sound like you're really in the demographic of the show, then...? At this point it's on par with Sony and MS for me. Definitely better than I anticipated. Even if they don't interest you, you can't deny that there were some pretty solid announcements. Killer Instinct, Gears Ultimate and even apparently a hint that Gears 4 will also come (I missed that bit). I mean, what were you even expecting?
  16. Is that seriously the only thing you got out of it? Because that was literally the only boring thing in the entire first hour.
  17. Definitely. Also, looks like that tweet was inaccurate. Miyazaki clarified that Dark Souls III isn't the final game in the series but more of a turning point. They actually mention possibly dropping the fantasy setting and even mention sci-fi as a possible genre for future entry, which is fucking music to my ears! You and I both know you'd be getting it day one regardless.
  18. So far the PC Gaming show is surprisingly decent! Day[9] is a pretty good host and the more talk show-like structure is more interesting than the usual format these things follow. If they actually have some good reveals and announcements and maintain this level of quality, this might actually be the best show of E3 for me. edit: Oh shit, Microsoft actually just announced that the Gears of War remaster is coming to PC! Not the most exciting title but it's a start!
  19. Ideally: announcements of high profile PC releases like Halo MCC, Final Fantasy XV, etc. This is not happening. Realistically: Esports stuff like StarCraft 2, Dota 2, LoL and the likes. Some indies, which is at least something and could be cool. And probably a whole bunch of nothing. I really hope I'm wrong, though.
  20. That's really not saying much, everyone had better showings than EA. In terms of games shown, I thought SE was among the better conferences. It would've been on the level of MS and Sony if they hadn't been so fucking stupid and kept all their reveals for their own conference. Especially the FFVII Remake, like what the fuck, that was their biggest bombshell and they gave the reveal to Sony.
  21. What is the point of announcing projects so early in development that you literally have nothing to show? Especially when it's a completely new IP and not a highly anticipated project/sequel or whatever. You just know these games are most likely going dark right away and not showing up again for years.
  22. Sounds like they were hired specifically because it's more of an action game. That's very much their specialty, so yeah, they can handle it. Also, I just found out that the campaign in the new Star Fox is by Platinum as well?! So many upcoming Platinum games and none of them are Metal Gear Rising 2.
  23. They reshowed their trailers from yesterday AND they're announcing two fucking mobile games. Amazing.
  24. New NieR developed by PlatinumGames? Well, that's certainly an unexpected way to make me care about a NieR sequel...
  25. I was up until 5AM last night so when I went to bed I said fuck Nintendo and didn't set my alarm for their thing. Second year in a row I do that lol. Doesn't seem like I missed much, from the looks of it. And now I guess the S-E presser is already running late? We're off to a great start today!
