  1. Lawyers aren't logical people, Cowboy. You're better off not trying to understand them. I mean, have you ever taken a look at bird law? That shit makes no sense!
  2. So how does this work? You order the game and play it now and then just wrap it up for Christmas?
  3. Yeah, I saw those. That sprite of Locke and Figaro Castle are particularly painful to look at but I don't give a shit. It's the best FF and I want it on Steam, damnit! I'd rather they just put up the original SNES version, obviously, but that's not happening. Modern Square-Enix is like an old relative with early onset dementia. Most of what they do makes no sense at all, so whenever they do something that's somehow halfway good, you gotta just appreciate it. edit: Apparently, other than the ugly sprite work, it's quite a good port. Seems it includes the enhancements from the GBA version (which was completely relocalized and has a much better translation) along with some other stuff. Sounds like the definitive edition of the game, all things considered. It's just a shame S-E felt the need to puke all over the visuals. :/
  4. I might have to download some extra RAM...
  5. Looks like the best FF is about to hit Steam!
  6. I hate it when I come in this thread to post something and no one has posted since my last post... Anyway! New Steam sale and since dailies are dead I just grabbed a couple things right away. I was planning on getting those during the holidays sale anyway. Now that I own the Season Pass, the Scholar upgrade was like 5 bucks so it was kind of a no-brainer. Snakebird was kind of an impulse purchase but I was already interested in it, I just had no idea it was on Steam. Thought it was a mobile game, for some reason. As for AC, I'm kind of annoyed that they weren't discounted separately but meh, I probably would've gotten both anyway if they had been 15 bucks each. Now I just need to play Black Flag already. So, this is the part where I normally say I shouldn't buy anything else but I always end up doing it. There's not much else that's really tempting me, though. I had a few more things in my cart but ended up removing them. Except for the occasional random 1-2$ game I don't expect I'll be buying anything else major. It kind of helps that the stuff I really want like Wasteland 2 isn't discounted at all. edit: Oh, yeah, this was actually ordered a few days ago but I kinda forgot about it until I got my shipping notice just now. I've been on the fence about it for a long time because, well, it's fucking weird but also because the lack of a built-in USB rechargeable battery is kind of annoying. I mean, it's 2015 for fuck's sake, I shouldn't have to buy AA batteries for a damn game controller. Anyway, I was already thinking about maybe getting one last week but what tipped me over was the left stick on my dualshock 3 being increasingly shit. It no longer stays properly centered (sometimes causing involuntary movement if a game is particularly sensitive) and sometimes even gets stuck on the sides when I flick it too hard. That's been going on for a while but it started bugging out on me while I was playing Trails in the Sky the other day and suddenly it was the most annoying thing ever. I decided it was time to replace it and kind of defaulted to looking at dualshock 4 prices at first but I said fuck it and got this instead. Figured it was now or never.
  7. I wasn't sure whether I should wait until closer to launch or even pre-order at all but then I realized that, for some reason, S-E didn't inflate the price to 70-80$ CAD due to exchange rate bullshit. Factor in the pre-order discount and the lack of taxes and it ends up being way cheaper than if I had bought a physical console copy. So whatever, I got what I wanted and I'm not getting screwed over on the price so I'm supporting it. Of course, Koei Tecmo's PC ports are notorious for being absolutely abysmal. So, this could potentially be the first time I make use of Steam refunds. Unlike some PC folks, I'm not too difficult to please, though. As long as this at least matches the PS4 version's visuals and 1080p60fps, I'll be happy.
  8. Honestly, IW was godawful in every possible way compared to the original but as its own thing it was kind of alright. I enjoyed what I played of it, I would've finished it if only it wasn't so fucking buggy. I got about halfway through it and then out of nowhere some retarded kid NPCs decided I was a big bad man and started running around like a bunch of assholes instead of letting me talk to them. So I got locked out of completing that quest how I wanted to, which pissed me off and made me quit the game for good. I tried going back to it but these days it seems the game likes to completely minimize itself and return you to the desktop for a solid few seconds every single time it needs to load the next area, which is some of the most insanely immersion-breaking shit I've ever experienced. Actually, you know what, I take it back. IW isn't alright at all! It's a piece of fucking garbage!
  9. If you were the regular member and I was the shit mod, you would be so banned right now!
  10. The skyline in the NYC area is missing the World Trade Center, because of memory limitations iirc. There's a conversation or datalog that mentions a terrorist attack taking it down. Deus Ex came out in 2000. edit: DAMNIT, DEAN!
  11. Meh, it was still far enough that I'm not too bothered. Besides, getting both XCOM 2 and Mankind Divided right around mid-semester would not have ended well for me. I don't need that shit on my last semester, I need to graduate this year! That being said, that seems like a pretty long delay, though. Makes you wonder what kind of state the game was in. I hope the Paris attacks have nothing to do with it. Delaying/changing media content because of real world events just seems kind of idiotic to me... Although, it would be kind of "funny" if the game coincidentally featured some kind of attack in Paris considering what happened with the original.
  12. I'm intrigued but it not being an SRPG and not actually taking place in the same world as VC is a major wut move. At least, considering how VC performed on Steam, I think a PC version is likely should the game get localized. So there's that.
  13. I was watching Matthewmatosis' 6 hours long Dark Souls commentary on and off last week and it gave me an itch to play some Dark Souls. I ended up ignoring TitS SC all week-end but it was worth it because I am finally done with the game! There was much less farming involved than I had anticipated because it turns out I already had a significant amount of the required items piled up. I mostly just needed to get the last few miracles/sorceries/pyromancies I was still missing, max out a weapon of each type and craft all the boss weapons. Overall, it felt like a much less tedious completion process than I remember Demon's Souls being. It feels good to finally be done with the game, though, as I've been working on it on and off ever since they released the Steamworks update and I really wanted to get it done before Dark Souls III comes out. Also, more importantly, now I can get back to TitS.
  14. Holy shit, I hadn't noticed but now it's all I can see... I'm going to go on a limb and suggest that "because Japan" is what's up with them. At the very least, it sure as shit ain't gravity.
  15. I guess I forgot to post when I ordered it but this was waiting on my desk when I got home. No idea when I'll actually have the time to play it but I've been meaning to get it for a while. They recently confirmed the sequel for a 2016 release, which prompted me to look on Amazon and for once the new copies on the marketplace weren't horribly overpriced, so I went for it.
  16. First Dragon Quest Heroes and now Disgaea on Steam?! They just keep coming, baby! Come on, SEGA. Do Persona! DO IT!

Mr. PC Gaming doesn't care about Fallout?!?!?!?

Oh, I care about Fallout. I just can't bring myself to get excited for a Bethesda game anymore. I'll get it eventually, once they fix most of the bugs and probably have a GOTY edition or whatever. I'm in no hurry to play it.

  17. Yeah, I think I'll also hold off a little bit on LotV. I really want it but I just don't have time for it right now. Maybe I'll get it over christmas break or something. That being said... Instead of going to bed when I ran out of beer last night, I drunkenly bought Rocket League at 4AM. Ended up going to bed around 6... but man! This game is stupid fucking fun! I only played the single-player season to learn the ropes, so I'm gonna have to try playing online today. I fully expect to be terrible at it.
  18. Dragon Quest Heroes on Steam, uh? Now do Bloodborne and Persona 5 and I might actually skip the PS4 entirely!

      Cross-over is between multiple series.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Even if characters from different games are in DQH, you're still staying within the Dragon Quest series. Crossover implies different IPs.

A crossover is more like SMTxFE, or whatever the hell it's called now.

Well I guess it's true that you are what you eat, because you guys are NUTS. Characters from separate games, whether from the same franchise or not, is a crossover. Like Dissidia. As long as those characters didn't have any relations in their original games.

  19. Got them while they were all on sale around Halloween. Used leftover card money so it ended up costing me about 4 bucks. Really looking forward to finally playing the RE5 DLC. Also, since it doesn't seem to get discounted like... ever (it got excluded from every single major sale since Scholar of the First Sin came out) and I have plenty of disposable income right now, I finally caved in and got
  20. Lol. I seriously feel like the only person that's not hyped for Fallout 4. I almost wish I was but I just can't bring myself to buy a Bethesda game at launch. Plus, what they've shown kinda feels like it's gone in a direction I'm not super keen on.
  21. Urge to pre-order rising...
  22. This seriously cannot be stressed enough. As someone currently learning all about it, it's something I really wish more gamers would understand. That whole "lazy dev" accusation that people like to throw around so much? I've come to realize just how truly fucking ridiculous it actually is.
  23. It wasn't made by Team Meat... Tommy Refenes never had anything to do with Isaac, it's just Edmund collaborating with other people. And in the case of Rebirth/Afterbirth, most of the development was handled by Nicalis. And even if it wasn't, focusing on the one game that's massively successful rather than the weird one that doesn't seem to be making much progress kinda makes sense, no? Besides, I'm pretty sure Mewgenics was shelved a while back in favor of that Super Meat Boy runner game. And then iirc, that one also got shelved in favor of porting SMB to PS4.
  24. It's pretty much just the original game but with modern OS compatibility (it doesn't run on DOSBox), higher resolution support (only up to 1024x768, though) and the (essential) mouselook mod preapplied. From what I've heard, the clunky controls was the main issue even back in the days. Mouselook alone makes a hell of a difference in making it actually playable.
