  1. I guess I forgot to post when I ordered it but this was waiting on my desk when I got home. No idea when I'll actually have the time to play it but I've been meaning to get it for a while. They recently confirmed the sequel for a 2016 release, which prompted me to look on Amazon and for once the new copies on the marketplace weren't horribly overpriced, so I went for it.
  2. First Dragon Quest Heroes and now Disgaea on Steam?! They just keep coming, baby! Come on, SEGA. Do Persona! DO IT!

Mr. PC Gaming doesn't care about Fallout?!?!?!?

Oh, I care about Fallout. I just can't bring myself to get excited for a Bethesda game anymore. I'll get it eventually, once they fix most of the bugs and probably have a GOTY edition or whatever. I'm in no hurry to play it.

  3. Yeah, I think I'll also hold off a little bit on LotV. I really want it but I just don't have time for it right now. Maybe I'll get it over christmas break or something. That being said... Instead of going to bed when I ran out of beer last night, I drunkenly bought Rocket League at 4AM. Ended up going to bed around 6... but man! This game is stupid fucking fun! I only played the single-player season to learn the ropes, so I'm gonna have to try playing online today. I fully expect to be terrible at it.
  4. Dragon Quest Heroes on Steam, uh? Now do Bloodborne and Persona 5 and I might actually skip the PS4 entirely!

      Cross-over is between multiple series.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Even if characters from different games are in DQH, you're still staying within the Dragon Quest series. Crossover implies different IPs.

A crossover is more like SMTxFE, or whatever the hell it's called now.

Well I guess it's true that you are what you eat, because you guys are NUTS. Characters from separate games, whether from the same franchise or not, is a crossover. Like Dissidia. As long as those characters didn't have any relations in their original games.

  5. Got them while they were all on sale around Halloween. Used leftover card money so it ended up costing me about 4 bucks. Really looking forward to finally playing the RE5 DLC. Also, since it doesn't seem to get discounted like... ever (it got excluded from every single major sale since Scholar of the First Sin came out) and I have plenty of disposable income right now, I finally caved in and got
  6. Lol. I seriously feel like the only person that's not hyped for Fallout 4. I almost wish I was but I just can't bring myself to buy a Bethesda game at launch. Plus, what they've shown kinda feels like it's gone in a direction I'm not super keen on.
  7. Urge to pre-order rising...
  8. This seriously cannot be stressed enough. As someone currently learning all about it, it's something I really wish more gamers would understand. That whole "lazy dev" accusation that people like to throw around so much? I've come to realize just how truly fucking ridiculous it actually is.
  9. It wasn't made by Team Meat... Tommy Refenes never had anything to do with Isaac, it's just Edmund collaborating with other people. And in the case of Rebirth/Afterbirth, most of the development was handled by Nicalis. And even if it wasn't, focusing on the one game that's massively successful rather than the weird one that doesn't seem to be making much progress kinda makes sense, no? Besides, I'm pretty sure Mewgenics was shelved a while back in favor of that Super Meat Boy runner game. And then iirc, that one also got shelved in favor of porting SMB to PS4.
  10. It's pretty much just the original game but with modern OS compatibility (it doesn't run on DOSBox), higher resolution support (only up to 1024x768, though) and the (essential) mouselook mod preapplied. From what I've heard, the clunky controls was the main issue even back in the days. Mouselook alone makes a hell of a difference in making it actually playable.
  11. If the game has alien radio towers then I take back everything I said. Ancient aliens in a caveman game = GOTY forever. I've admittedly not seen a whole lot of what they've shown. Does it not have bows and throwing spears or do you mean specifically gun shooting?
  12. FTFY. Far Cry Primal looks like something new? The setting is novel, sure, but it's still a Ubisoft game. It's going to be mainly about climbing shit to reveal collect-a-thon map markers. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy those games as much as the next guy, so I'm not trying to shit on the formula here. I just don't see how you could seriously expect anything more out of it. With Ubisoft, it's safer to expect the usual and little more.
  13. How is there any kind of uncertainty here? Deus Ex >>>> everything else.
  14. Is that the Ice Cave one? If so, that's where I also hit a wall. Haven't touched the game in a while because of it, which is a shame because up until that point I was loving the hell out of it.
  15. Lol. You'd think so but while there are airships in the game's world, the characters make it a point to travel on foot. At least, they do in FC. That being said, the technology that powers the airships is an important element in the plot and the world's lore. Oh and, it goes without saying but But that's not all. The issue that's been holding up my student financial aid since the beginning of September has fucking finally been cleared up, so now it's time to do the mature thing: blow it all on a bunch of video games I don't really have time to play right now! Really glad to finally be able to get those three, I've been wanting to play them so much. And last but not least, finally pre-ordered this
  16. Well, that... certainly looks like a Platinum-made NieR sequel. As expected, seems a bit more geared towards action. It's very early footage, though, so it's hard to tell whether there's any RPGness going on under the hood.
  17. Double Dragon Neon. Got this one a little while back, from some bundle, I think. Gave it a quick try back then, thought it seemed a bit shit and turned it off before finishing the first level. Fast-forward to now and between rewatching a bunch of AVGN videos and playing AVGN Adventures, I felt like playing something old-school. So, I figured this was close enough and gave it another shot. Turns out it's actually pretty goddamn fun! Right off the bat, I'm a huge sucker for the whole 80s nonsense shtick (think Blood Dragon), especially when it's accompanied by an appropriate soundtrack, so the game had that going for it. I also hadn't played a straight-up old-school brawler like this in ages and, even though I was never overly fond of the genre, it was pretty fun to play one after all these years. Not much else to say, really. It's Double Dragon but more radical! Oh, and the ending theme is almost Revengeance levels of perfect.
  18. Trails in the Sky SC is finally coming out! Next Week! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I'm assuming I can transfer my save from Steam to GOG? It's both PC so...

Some guy related to the project is telling people on GAF that they can use other people's saves even if they don't own FC on PC, so yeah, you should be fine.

  19. Go back and do the other. I made the same choice as you at first but the other one feels like a better, truer ending to the story. It's also longer and doesn't feel like an afterthought. I'd be willing to bet they only gave a choice because they knew people would expect multiple endings.
  20. Yeah, the rewind mechanic really felt like a logical evolution of the memory remixing from Remember Me. Especially when you have to rewind a scene until you find the correct combination of actions to produce the desired outcome. It's pretty much the same idea, just in a different context. I really wanted to love Remember Me but the repetitive, boring combat brought it down to "just kind of liked it" level. Looking at Life is Strange now, it really makes me wonder if shoehorning combat into it was something demanded by Capcom in exchange for backing the game financially. Like, Remember Me was clearly built as an action game overall but the combat really didn't feel like it received the same level of attention as everything else. Other than that pointless combo customization stuff, it's pretty shallow and underdeveloped. But the story was pretty good, I thought, and the art direction was some of the best I've seen last gen.
  21. Life is Strange. Might as well make a post here, too. Episode 5 came out a couple days ago so I finally got up to date and finished it. Overall, it was a very good series. I certainly loved it more than anything I've played from Telltale. Although, to be fair, I haven't yet gotten around to playing any of their more recent stuff like Dead S2, GoT or Borderlands. But even then, the characters in Life is Strange felt like they had a lot more depth to them. I actually cared about them, way more than I did about anyone in TWD. It just felt like an entirely different level of writing quality. I mean, the ending of Walking Dead S1 was a downer but it didn't make me tear up or anything like that. Life is Strange actually did. It seems to have done well enough sales-wise (sold over half a million copies on Steam alone, according to SteamSpy), so I really hope Dontnod can follow it up with another season. They've already said their plan is for an anthology setup where each season features a different story and a different cast and I'm really curious to see what they would follow this up with. Like, which elements are considered core to the series rather than just specific to this first season? Would a second season even bring back the rewind mechanic or would it focus on something entirely different?
  22. Welp, just finished episode 5. Overall, it definitely maintained the level of quality that made people call it a better Telltale game than Telltale ever did. Now I really hope we get a second season. Dontnod have already said that they view it as an anthology kind of deal, so a second season would feature a completely new story with a new cast. I'm really curious to see what they would follow this up with.
  23. Pretty solid investigative piece by Jason Schreier. It was painfully obvious that something went very wrong behind the scenes of Destiny but it's fascinating to finally have some specifics on exactly what. Turns out that the higher ups at Bungie were unhappy with the story and scrapped/rebooted the whole thing a little over a year before the game's initial launch. Kind of insane...
  24. Yeah... I mean, I don't mind dumb explanations for stuff like this but the supernatural elements really haven't been the point of the story so far. So, I don't expect them to even try to explain it.
  25. Yeah, and now that I think about it, that's also exactly what happened with For the other theory, I suppose the misdirection thing is possible but I don't buy it. The entire idea just seems kind of stupid to me, for some reason, so I really hope it doesn't turn out to be true lol. Another thing I'm wondering is if I don't expect they will but I care about small details like that so I kinda hope they do.
