  4. I had a N64, never had a PS1 but my best friend next door did, we always bought whatever console the other one didn't have. At the time, the N64 was a good decision. When you're 10 years old in 1997, having your best friends over every night in the summer and playing 4 player Goldeneye till 2am was the tits. Same thing a couple years later with Perfect Dark. Plus both Zeldas and Mario Kart. But as I got older I found Nintendo didn't really grow up with me, so near the end of the N64 days I had stopped gaming. I wish someone had just told me to pick up a PS1 and some Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid games but alas, no one did. So basically what I'm saying is if you find yourself trapped in the 90s and you're over 13, buy a PS1.
  5. My. God. Tearaway is 18 dollars on PSN right now.

I'll give you that, the platforming is pretty average (at best); but i don't think anyone is praising it for that. The things they are saying, that it oozes charm, uses the Vita in new, interesting and fun ways and that it's a joy to play aren't wrong. Maybe it's not the best game of the year, but for my money, it's one of the more enjoyable ones.

I'll give you that I cracked a smile the first time I poked my finger through the ground to kill enemies, or used the touch screen to unroll a path, but the novelty of the interface wears off after about the second or third level. I agree it oozes personality, but the level design doesn't hold up its end and novel controls only get you so far. I enjoyed my one playthrough, but as soon as I went back to start getting collectibles I missed I realized I had no interest in slogging thro...

I enjoyed my one playthrough, but as soon as I went back to start getting collectibles I missed I realized I had no interest in slogging through those levels again now that the novelty was gone. It was a decent game, nothing more.

  6. Good thinking with the 32 GB card. I don't know how people get by with smaller cards.
  7. Final Fantasy V works on Vita now, if you were waiting for that, you can download straight from the store.
  8. I don't get this "I'll be happy with the WIi U if it's another Game Cube" sentiment from the Nintendo faithful. The Game Cube wasn't a runaway hit but it never bombed this hard. Nintendo would be VERY lucky if they got that kind of success.
  9. Woo! Last day of work till January 6. Soon, I shall game, oh yes.

    2. Mr. GOH!

      Mr. GOH!

I know. I have something like Silver or Gold-level insurance (Platinum being the best). Except no prescription drug benefits, which SUCKS. That will change next year, though.

yeah, I've got 80/20 with like a 1500 family/750 deductible and 5k out of pocket max family. Next year is 90/10, 500/1000 deduct, 2500 out of pocket maximum. FOR THE LOW PRICE OF $96/WK.

I don't even know what a deductible is. My grasp of the english language suggests that the better your insurance the less John Mcclain's and Adam Jensen's you'll be bother by. de-ductable.

  10. It was Cactuar till Fred broke my heart
  11. HH, Is Irredeemable Antman that bad? I picked it up for 99 cents each via Comixology awhile back but haven't read it yet. I also agree with Paul Rudd being a good choice for Henry Pym, glad it wasn't JGL, he'd be better off as Doctor Strange. However, I hope the rumour of Rashida Jones as The Wasp isn't true, I can't see Anne Perkins fighting alongside The Hulk and Iron Man in Avengers 3. I wonder how long till we get a monthly Pym focused Antman book? You'd think that would have to be in the works with a film on the way.
  12. WELCOME TO THE BOARD RACHEL. We don't bite. Except Wally. Dude's psycho.
  13. Fuck I was really hoping for a 5 hour self contained story and then one or two other self contained DLC packs. THIS IS JAMAIKING ME CRAZY!
  14. Wait-- Freedom Cry is episodic?
  15. Skyward Sword was the best characters and story in a Zelda for sure. Too bad the overworld sucked. And the volcano area music. Oh god...
  16. Minecraft for PS3. I don't know. I have it on PC, never play it anymore, but sometimes I want to kick back and play it on TV with a controller (before you say anything, I've never got my DS3 to work on my mac with Minecraft). The trophies are super easy, this is a totally attainable platinum, I'll do it for sure. Terraria for Vita. I picked up Terraria earlier this year for PS3 and immediately thought "this would be perfect on Vita". Surprise, surprise... it is.
  17. If this is to tide people over till the real Zelda game, I would have much rather had Twilight Princess HD. Double hook shots, yo!
  18. Having another developer do a Zelda game could be so awesome. But Dynasty Warriors Zelda?! Come on Nintendo!

I thought it looked alright. Slightly interested. Would love a zelda rpg...if Bioware could make it as decent as Jade Empire, that'd be sweet...but I'm not sure I have much faith left in Bioware :/ Hoping Dragon Age 3 changes my mind.

I really liked ME3 except for the last 10 minutes. ME2 was good too except for the lack of equipment management and skill points.

  19. I never saw any bugs in Uncharted 3, shooter of the generation. But seriously though... 1. Uncharted 2 2. Uncharted 3 3. Golden Abyss 4. Uncharted Uncharted 2 is tops for me but 3 is a close second.
  20. Yeah it's an interesting comparison. Sony has the right model, IMO... you can do off-screen play for 200 dollars but it's completely option and you get an entirely new gaming platform as well. I wonder if Nintendo will drop the game pad and just do a standard controller and drop the price another 50 bucks?
  21. This was the year for the Wii U to get solid footing, but they pissed that chance away. If Smash and Zelda are the Wii U's saviours than they might be in trouble. Smash is coming to 3DS. Zelda has never able to move units. What I'm expecting is major changes with upper management at Nintendo in the new year, we'll see if a drastic change in approach can help.
  22. It's on sale on PSN this week so I figured, since I have to fly to Vancouver and back this week I'll use this to occupy my time.
  23. Winter: the time of year when my back gets super itchy.
