  1. A game about how They Joy became the Boss would be pretty cool I think. It would have to be very similar to MGS3. Humanize a really "badass" character by making them make mistakes while having to kill a friend or mentor to get to the next "level." Cool and collected people hardly ever started out as cool and collected.
  2. They already announced that the is 3DS XL will come with the ac adaptor. I'm guessing everyone outside Japan will get it too. But uhhh, screen size doesn't matter when the resolution stays the same. Also, have you not played RE Revelations or MGS3D? they're not comfortable without the second analog. They're definitely playable with one stick., but I'm sure most of us could play with our feet if we wanted to too. Doesn't mean it's good.
  3. And the new Mario game is getting dlc that isnt free.
  4. Uhh....what? Well, Solidus was ONLY in MGS2 and older Big Boss was only in MGS4. Theyve never been voiced in other games. And being clones has nothing to do with it. Each Snake have different voices. Not to mention that Snake has aged about the same as Big Boss in MGS4. They were about the same age physically. Solid Snake's voice was for the most the same, it doesnt make sense that Big Boss' voice would change after getting older. Kojima even said they changed it so David Hayter wouldnt be talking to David Hayter. Itd be weird. Im so glad they did. And yes, I remember hearing that rumor about The Boss. To be honest, I find her very dull as a character. The Cobras too. People complained about the B&B Unit not having personalities, but neither did the Cobras. They all just said their name like 20 times and told Snake how much they were going to kill him. Aside from the Sorrow, none of them had real actual backstories either. Every member of the B&B Unit had a backstory narrated by Drebin. Their backstories werent great, but at least they had them. I guess a game based on The Boss and and the Cobras could fix that though. But I would expect people to be pissed off if a real MGS game got made without a Snake. It would be MGS2 all over again. Its been a decade and some people still won't let that go.
  5. Well, Persona 4 Golden sold 137,000 in Japan this past week.. Thats not out of this world fantastic overall, but its great for the Vita. Thats something to be excited about. I dont care about the competition or which handheld is better than the other, but it's nice that developers can see that they can make money by putting their games on the Vita. It will probably drop drastically next week though. Im guessing all the Vita game starved people ate this shit up ASAP. I hope it does this well here in the US and in Europe. I know Im getting it day one. Thats the good thing about getting a new system, that you get to try games you probably wouldnt have bought if there were tons of other more established franchises. I hate to say it, but Im not very adventurous in my gaming purchases. I mostly stick to the same developers.
  6. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO done with Nintendo. Eesh. So glad I jumped the fucking boat last month.

Its just the overall gaming community disagreeing with me. This year has been harsh for the things I like and what I dislike seems to be put up on a podium. I guess gaming is just turning into what I never wanted. I need a break from all this. Im taking it too seriously.

Yeah... overanalyzing things brings out all the ugliness no matter how small. For a long time now I've cared little for blockbusters. Personally I find that even if it's not in the spotlight though, what I want to play is always represented somewhere, and in greater amounts than I can fully explore anyway. Lots of old "heroes" of gaming have turned bad in recent years, I think, but still - who needs them? There are new guys who get it!

Like fuchikoma said, try to not think about it too much Strangelove. The current state of console gaming has been quite frustrating for a lot of people for a number of reasons. Know that you're not alone in your thinking. Just try to hang in there, and if you can get away from it all for a while, by all means do so. It will help to ease some of the tension and frustration, and it shouldn't take long to recap what you miss. :)

  7. I think the developers of Gravity Rush expected some kind of similarities to Shadow of the Colossus or even Red Dead Redemption. A game where half of it is just traversing, going from one place to another because the gamer wants to "soak it all in". At least thats the way I feel about it. Flying around is just a lot of fun that I truly dont expect other parts of the game, like the combat to be more "deeper" than they already are. Everyone seems to dislike the simplistic mashy combat, but I wouldnt want Bayonetta or Ninja Gaiden type combat from a game like this. I think it would be cumbersome and take away from everything else. People would focus more on making combos than on using gravity attacks. Theyd be pointless and the game would cease to be it's own original thing. God knows it wouldnt appeal to all the people Gravity Rush appeals to as it is now. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden and DMC, but those games arent friendly to people who dont want to learn the game outside and inside out. Mastering the mechanics that are in GR are already something the "hardcore" can focus on. Thats another problem people have with the game - it's not precise enough. Well, its not supposed to be. This isnt a Sonic game. It doesnt have an exact autolock. Its only mildly autolock with some attacks, but you still have to time your attacks right and configure them as you go along. Precision and timing is just something you get better at with time. The game is just wild.
  8. It shows how flawed she really is a human being, the cause most likely being because she's a spy and all the changes she has to go through physically and mentally. When you talk to her she mentions how hard it is, but since her job is based on deception, its hard to believe that she'd be telling Snake the truth. These medical problems really verify her honesty with him and only him. It's a nice little touch. The overall plots of Kojima's games fluctuate between coherent and nonsensical, but he's always been ridiculously focused on details and backstories unlike anyone else in the game industry. Every character in every MGS game has a backstory that you could possibly create a game around. Im still kind of surprised there hasn't been a Liquid Snake game or even a Solidus Snake game. MGS3 was kind of an obvious and easy choice because Snake was still Snake, just a different one. Same voice, same face and for the most part the same logic and principles. It was an easy transition to make for people who liked Solid Snake and wanted more of him. Liquid and Solidus are also Snake, but with different voices. They can change that though. Kojima has never shied away from retconning, which a lot of people hate. But I wouldnt mind if David Hayter voiced Liquid Snake in a game and Kojima just made up some story of Liquid changing his voice later on. It happened with Big Boss after all in MGS4. They gave him Solidus' voice and it worked out fine. Plus, most villains in the MGS universe are hardly ever true "villains" in their younger days. There's no reason why Kojima couldnt make Liquid a sympathetic character. Plus, people just like Liquid. Fan's reaction to Liquid in MGS1 was the only real reason he came back in MGS2. That wasn't the original plan. Plus, the game ive most wanted to see hasnt been made yet - Big Boss in the early 1980s. Im a bit tired of Big Boss, but Ive always wanted to see what happens before the first Metal Gear. He's already branded a terrorist in Peace Walker, but I feel that there would be a huge turning point before Metal Gear that would have him become a true villain and have Solid Snake hunt him down. There are indeed too many Metal Gear games, but there's also a lot of material to cover. Im not sure if Kojima still enjoys making them, but he's not short on ideas on what to make them about. And Im still a Metal Gear fanboy at heart, so I wont complain....yet.
  9. I found the first 2 by myself, but the last 2 I found out by way of innernet. Those last 2 are almost impossible to find unless youre seriously obsessed with the game or just plain sadistic. You have to kill Raikov to get him to appear in the Sorrow part, but that's just weird to do so. You have to capture him, put him in the locker, steal this clothes, then open the locker and kill him as he sleeps. I would have never thought of that because im not THAT fucked up. Then again, I did kill Ocelot while he was passed out. I dunno. As for Ocelot appearing in the ending, you have to hold the R1 button while you talk to Johnson, but unlike most alternate first person angles, it doesn't tell you to press R1. And theres a few other ones too that are like that. I would have never thought of doing that either. I also just noticed that Eva has nipples in her xray. Weird. But the PS2 version was so pixelated back then that it's possible I didn't notice because of it.
  10. Robot Alchemic Drive was the best mech game of all time!

    1. Mal

      Mal

Sandlot also made one of the best game ever... Earth Defense Force 2017. EDF! EDF! EDF!

  11. Even after 10 or so years, there's tons of stuff people haven't seen or noticed in MGS3...
  12. This isnt going to be the bromance dramedy we were all posilutely looking forward to.
  13. Man, I hated that game. Its made by the same developers that made the Dead Space iOS game, which is one of the best iOS games, but they didn't do ME justice at all. Its a complete cover shooter...which would be fine except for the touch controls. I couldnt even finish it.
  14. I didnt know Night Owl was such a perv.
  15. Ellen Page is a really good actress. Juno is a pretty good film. If it didnt have that slang bullshit her and her friends speak, the movie is golden. I just rewatched it yesterday and its aged well...aside from the slang. The Last Stand wasnt her fault either. Im not a big Inception fan, but she was good in that too. Hard Candy is also an awesome film more people should see.
  16. And the sky is blue. Videogame plots are often predictable and the Zombie genre has become predictable to a fault. Its quite sad. Anyone who acts weird, hurt or woozy in a zombie game or movie is or will become a zombie. You have to look 100% healthy to not be a zombie in a zombie game or movie. I think thats a rule.
  17. Two new Leon gameplay vids. My faith is somewhat restored after that craptacular E3 footage. Id skip the first one though. The second video is the tits.
  18. P3P just had a price drop about a month ago. It used to be 30 bucks. So itll be a while before it goes lower again. Probably a year. Or hopefully around the time P4 Golden releases. Im on the same boat though. I want FF4 Complete Collection, but that also just dropped in price a few weeks back. 20 bucks is just too much for me. Itll be a while if ever before the prices drop. PSP prices are all over the freakin' board. The 3rd Birthday is 20 bucks and just came out last year, but Parappa The Rapper is 23 dollars. A game that came out over 5 years ago....that's fucking insane. Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur are STILL 40 bucks too. Those are about 2 or 3 years old and they suck compared to the console versions. They need to get their shit together.
  19. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2012-06-19-willem-dafoe-to-co-star-in-quantic-dreams-beyond This would be kind of awesome. Dafoe is severely underrated. Especially if all youve seen of him is from the Spider-man movies.
  20. Alice: Madness Returns is 20 bucks on PSN. Its an awesome platformer and it should come with the first Alice game too. And for people who needs more games on their Vita, Power Stone Collection, Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX are on sale for 5 bucks on PSN. All Vita compatible. I recommend SFA3Max. Its a great game. Its basically arcade perfect, has shitloads of characters and shitloads of game modes, specifically World Tour Mode. Which is awesome. The store hasnt updated yet though.
  21. I saw that and I agree. They do a massive sale after basically saying massive sales are for lameasses.
  22. Correct. I havent done it myself, but thats what I know about it.
  23. As long as both games got played and saved under the same PSN account you should be fine.
  24. Eh, there are some stipulations. For one, youre not going to get easy trophies from this. First of all, if you want to transfar, both save files have to be from the same PSN account. No exceptions. Also, MGSHD for the PS3 was updated last tuesday and what that did was make it so saves prior to the update would disable you from getting trophies in the Vita version with those files. Like I said, theyre trying to stop people from getting easy trophies. So if you got your platinum in MGS3 on the PS3 last month or last week or whenever, when you transfer that save youre not going to automatically get a platinum in the Vita version. You cant unlock any trophies with an old MGSHD PS3 save file at all. What transfarring IS for, is if you start a new Vita or PS3 game, you CAN get trophies in both versions and those will transfer over. so if you start a MGS3 game on the Vita or the PS3 today, you can get a trophy on either system and when you transfer the save, youll get the same trophy int he opposite version. In a nutshell: Stuff you did in MGSHD for PS3 BEFORE The Vita version came out won't get you any trophies in any way on the Vita.
