  1. I won't say I expect apologies but yeah. I told you so.
  2. Yeah, and only rich people have the Internet these days.
  3. They never reported on it before, why start now? Kotaku has a terrible habit of not reporting on MMO news unless it has to do with Star Wars, Star Trek, or WoW.
  4. 'Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again.

Catch you on the flipside, everyone.

  5. Damnit, I hate having to box with mod load orders in FNV/Oblivion.

  6. Northern Pakistan is the breeding ground for the majority of the world's terrorists these days. bin Laden just happens to be living in a palace not but a couple hundred miles away from all the "alleged" training sites? Connect the dots. As for an impact in terrorism, I imagine it's having a morale effect. It's certainly having one in America. Finally capturing the man responsible for America's biggest terrorist attack in its history is a pretty big deal. Only time will tell how big of an impact it will have on al-Qaeda, however. But I'm a little tired of people shrugging this off like water on a stone.
  7. How much of al-Qaeda was bin Laden? You mean other than him being the founder and leader? By the way, just because al-Qaeda does not claim responsibility for the attacks does not mean they weren't involved in some way. Unless you're saying it's just a coincidence that three of the four bombers were Pakistani and their pre-taped gloating also had al-Qaeda's Ayman al-Zawahiri gloating as well. You're talking about an organization that gladly trains and arms would-be terrorists. They had their finger in the pie, somewhere. I suggest watching the Carlos TV miniseries for a more dramatic portrayal of how well-connected various terrorists groups are with each other.
  8. L4D1. Although honestly there aren't many zombie games. : \
  9. Yeah, I'm sure a guy hiding in Pakistan as the world's most notorious terrorist had nothing to do with Pakistani terrorists. But yeah, the alleged mastermind behind killing three-thousand Americans is no bfd. Maybe you should just stick with the whole "Bush is a baby-killer" bit.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madrid_Train_Bombing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_July_2005_London_bombings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mumbai_attacks It's interesting how we forget about things that don't happen in our own country. Anyway, it's interesting to note that this compound that he was in was close to a Pakistani military compound and apparently only a block away from a Pakistani police station. Obama said nothing about a "joint military operation" which coincides with reports we're hearing that we went in without telling Pakistan. Honestly considering it's pretty clear they've been protecting him I'm sure they made sure not to inform the Pakistani government or else they probably would have warned him. Also, note Pakistan's "cover-your-ass" move by saying it was a "joint operation" and that they're glad that he's been killed/captured. If people weren't so war-weary already something tells me that there would be another coalition-type gathering to "liberate" Pakistan.
  11. Uh, you are aware that this is actually a huge deal, right? When 77 million people are compromised of their private information, it's no longer a small mentionable at the bottom of page A8 of the newspaper. Not when the FBI, the FTC, and Canadian and British organizations are looking into the matter. Dude, AdBlockPlus. Install it and never look back.
  12. After three years of browsing Kotaku, I finally get starred by Owen...three days before I leave the country for 18 months with no Internet. ;_;

They're called Shin Bet. They're as "friendly" as Mossad apparently. >_> In preparation for my possible interrogation when I get to Tel Aviv, I have started a game of Civ 4 where my state religion is Judaism.

  15. This is Bioware we are talking about. It really wouldn't surprise me if it happens. Anyway, I'm not saying I want it to happen. I'm just saying don't be surprised if there's some human-Prothean tie-in as to why humanity is the galaxy's savior.
  16. Because you're a bit of a pessimist? Calling out an obvious trope is being pessimistic? That's news to me. Retcon doesn't take much work. Also:
  17. I kept the religious signet ring you get from Chapter 1. I so thought that thing would become handy in the future. It wasn't.
  18. Why am I smelling a "Protheans are actually the ancestors to humans" obvious "twist"?
  19. I used to criss-cross my arms to play games when I was young. Then I learned about key config customization. I never looked back since then.
  20. 25% of the world is left-handed. |: \ I remember it took me a half hour just setting the key bindings for GTAIV so I didn't need to grow an extra three fingers. I still can't use the cellphone and drive at the same time (although perhaps that's maybe just social commentary). And how about when you found a better weapon? You couldn't even take your old one and sell it. It was just, ugh. A bad system. I thought it was going to be neatly intricate like having different weapon fighting styles for axes and daggers. As soon as you get a new sword you never touch those weapons again. ... But...but... Yeah. I stumbled on it by accident when I shifted in my chair and held down the right mouse button for a bit. Since you can't throw a Signi skill until you level up, it never appears in the starting tutorial. I'd say potion crafting was another headache as well. Interesting, but a headache. If you used a substance that had two chemical properties and use it to create a potion, it's of a weaker substance and then takes up a DIFFERENT inventory slot from other pure-based potions.
  21. It's better to have well-functioning features rather than unfinished features. I thought The Witcher was great but it did have a number of features that felt pretty weak (like having tons of worthless items in a game with a limited inventory). I'm not sure how you righties did it, but as a lefty I worked with the numpad as far as weapon exchange went. The Signi was a different issue. I always had to click to change them around. If all the Signi were actually useful I would've found it annoying but I was mostly using the fire Signi the entire time anyway. It took me half way through the game to realize holding down the sign powers it up and throws it, however.

I was up until 2:30AM until I finally fell asleep as well, but that has more to do with this prison cot I'm sleeping on.

You say that, but it really depends what time you get up in the morning - or afternoon as the case may be.

  23. Niiice. Finally, a new feature. And I lol'd at him wondering if 65,536 maps was enough (although I suppose I could sort of seeing it being a problem on big servers with lots of folks). Perhaps books are next on the horizon?
