  1. Did you try out mods for Fallout 3? That helps significantly.
  2. And that's okay. You're free to have that preference. My best friend is the same way. He just loves to challenge the "rules" of games -- jumping for minutes on-end until he surmounts a cliff, melee-ing a vehicle in Halo until he pushes it over a barricade, etc. I enjoy it sometimes too. I used the physics to pull all kinds of tricks in the Oblivion realms such as creating a shortcut by jumping over lava, or dropping from the top of a tower and surviving because I managed to "slide" in certain areas. I feel like a PR guy for Game Informer, but I'm pretty sure all of my info on Skyrim has come from there. There's the main feature on the game, a few videos, and the GI podcast with Todd Howard. All can be found here. I don't know if I'd call that rule-bending considering the way the engine works. Being able to vertically climb a mountain by rapidly jumping is an oversight on the developer's part and they should make efforts to improve on that. Instead of improving on features like that or perhaps even including something interesting like a climbing system, they just axe the problem so they don't have to worry about fixing their own problems. I don't think combat is going to be all that different in Skyrim, but I do believe it's mostly going to be all about melee and/or magic.
  3. No, actually it's all on them. The lack of tone, inflection, and a face leads most people to assume I'm arrogant because all they have to look at is Rufus Sewell (who's well-known for playing arrogant roles) and my handle is Agamemnon (and everyone remembers that atrocious movie Troy well-enough). What people mistake for arrogance is just my lack of a personality in posts in an attempt to remain objective. Apparently when I ask for clarification people then misinterpret that as a challenge or something, even though I'm literally asking for someone to be clearer. Please don't ever tell me it's my fault if someone insults me. That's on their hands, not mine.
  4. Not sure how well-sourced this is but: http://nightmaremode.net/2011/04/20/mass-effect-3-to-have-heavy-melee-class-enemy-types-locations-and-more/ Of interest: The "really bad things" endings doesn't surprise me, considering how depressing DA:O's epilogue is.
  5. I haven't antagonized anyone. In fact, I've been antagonized and personally attacked TWICE so far by people you just described (one even a moderator): people who are so sure that they are right that they flaunt it and say, "Pshaw, I'm so right that I'm not even going to respond." So rather than being mature they trade that in for being vague and obtuse or just being down-right rude. I've done neither of those things. At least certainly not until I myself have been attacked. At which point all bets are off. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you should fly into a fit of rage. I'm sorry you are incapable of responding to my posts without feeling emotionally angry. That's really not my problem, however.
  6. Fits with Alexa stats for the most part. http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/kotaku.com I like how nearly 30% of people on Kotaku are browsing on ca.kotaku/uk.kotaku.
  7. To be honest I'd blame what ever retailer sold that dud. I don't have much doubt that they were trying to make a quick buck as the ship was sinking.
  8. Aww, poor baby is angry! Sorry kid, but you and two other friends does not constitute as "us" in TAY, especially not when you're the one who picked the fight. Also, if you weren't raging so hard you'd read in that writeup how I heavily criticize Oblivion. You know, just refuting your completely wrong assumption that I'm a "fanboy" of the game (and I've done my fair share of further criticizing the company). You accused me of doing the same thing when we were arguing about Spore. However, in that discussion I never asked anyone to downvote you or upvote me, or did anything related to the discussion except what you can see in the thread itself. Likewise, to my knowledge, RockyRyan didn't "get" anyone to downvote you. People do it of their own accord. *Edit* - Missed a page. Jeez Rocky, take a chill pill. Right, I'm sure it was just "other people" who downvoted me within three minutes of my post being up.
  9. Looking to form a buttbuddy downvoting crew, because Internet iz srs biznus.

  10. It should've never been sold on Steam. I have a creeping feeling everyone involved in making money off of that knew that it was going to be axed just a couple of weeks later.
  11. The redesign is for the best!
  12. And then they axed the game a month later. Fucking Steam.
  13. The game is difficult to stomach without modifications. Luckily the game has a healthy modding community. I used to mix and match but Floris seems to be the way to go nowadays. It just makes Mount&Blade unstable if you don't have the RAM to handle the added resources. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?board=197.0
  14. http://agdom.wordpress.com/2010/02/20/rpgs-how-far-have-we-come/ Congrats on making an ass out of yourself. You're welcome to continue making an ass out of yourself on your own time. Edit: Please, get all of your friends to downvote me if it makes you feel less of an ass.

Donald Duck is awesome. I don't know, I just love the duck characters.

      Nice cracked article.

You know, I see Donald Duck orange juice in stores. Not sure if it's directly related...

I already knew about the Indiana Jones thing.

  15. Because they set the bar with Morrowind and Oblivion. Why do you think there was such a huge backlash when Fallout 3 had a definitive ending? You don't take one step forward and two steps back.
  16. I give up. You want to rage about mountains in Oblivion then do it with someone else. I've thrown 300+ hours into that game and I'm officially done talking to a wall.
  17. TAY so far: "OMG I agree with you, you are so awesome, +friend!" or "RAWR, I DISAGREE WITH YOU, FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK, WE ARE NOW MORTAL ENEMIES AND I SHALL MAKE VOODOO DOLLS OF YOU." Grow up.

Arguments were had in arcades about whether 1P's joystick was better than 2P's joystick.

  18. I'm sure you were interested in "decent debate" when you said I was "regurgitating" my points. You got aggressive, then I got aggressive. You're surprised I called you out on that or something? ^That there is what I expect from the game's geography. Don't tell me I didn't discuss it. Would you like me to treat you like a child as well? Because I responded to this EXACT point. Cyrodiil is not a giant mountainous area. I said, "What did you expect?" Given your obtusiveness, your answer apparently is: "For them to change the lore of the area." I then point out areas EXACTLY like that and what do you say? Oh, God forbid they encompass the game in less than 75% of the game in snowy mountains instead of 25%, right? And how am I supposed to take you seriously if you flat-out lie about the geography of Oblivion? http://images.wikia.com/oblivion/images/0/06/Jerall_Mountains.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/18497-3-1216242363.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j190/Carel_de_Winter/Jerall-Mountains.jpg So here we have the terrain you WANT (down to a t, to your silly ravines that lead down to paths and caves), plus your lovely mountains. I'm starting to think that maybe you haven't played this game at all. If I was near my desktop I'd fire up Oblivion right now and take a slew of pictures to further prove you wrong on this one. That there was what I said in response to the first time you took "flat" too literally. Don't tell me I didn't talk about it. Now, will you actually acknowledge my posts instead of cherrypicking and claiming I haven't said a thing? Uh, I did acknowledge your posts. The only one not acknowledging people's posts seems to be you. http://board.pressxordie.com/topic/20-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/page__st__200__p__47671#entry47671 And how did you answer this? Ah, yes. How intelligently put. Bravo, good retort. Cryodiil is about as flat as a pornstar. Is that a simple enough point for you to attempt to retort or are you going to dance around the issue again?
  19. Eight or nine hours if you stop and do the quests so you're on-level to handle later-level enemies (and to spawn better loot). Maybe an hour, or an hour-and-a-half with trying a straight run (with needing to stop to resupply and repair every now and then). Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is, nine hours, two hours, what ever. I shouldn't have to take the scenic route if I want to create a character that wants to get to New Vegas as quickly as possible.
  20. This coming from the person who made no attempt to actually refute my points and only said, "lololo, I made these points already" (even though you haven't). EDIT: And I'll be the adult here (before you have a hissy fit like TheMightyEthan and you be as obtuse as possible just for the sake of being an ass) and say let's drop the issue if you're not interested in treating me like a human being.
  21. Cool passive-aggressiveness, bro.
  22. Yeah, rain is pretty sudden. Also it doesn't seem like the instance updates when you create an overhang of sorts, so it continues to "rain" through objects created while its raining.
  23. So Valve bringing in (potentially) hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few days, all for the sake of hinting at a game releasing early, is not big news? This reminds me of when everyone wanted to cover their eyes when the criticism started falling in about L4D2. "Oh, this is only an issue because people are making an issue of it." Uh, duh?
  24. How is wanting to go where I want to go "skipping" content? You can still go back and do the missions related to those areas. One of my favorite things about Oblivion is that you can go straight forward with most quest stages if you've figured it out (like the Mythic Dawn bit at the Imperial Palace). Bethesda creates a game which encourages you to play with multiple characters for different gameplay experiences and yet FORCES you to go through some of the lengthiest intros. On top of that, Obsidian wants to railroad you eight or nine hours around the map until you get to New Vegas. In a game that has a selling point about freedom, it feels like you're being shackled to linearity.
