  1. I think TCP might be referring to marriage being okay now for gays in Scottland, and Russia having a bunch of anti-gay laws? @Vecha: Well, some toilets won't flush and some have the seats screwed on incorrectly, to where the sitting part is where the lid should be and the lid covers the hole for the poo. Also, toilets are seated side-by-side with no walls between, meaning you can sit a foot between people and have conversations while you shit. It's like one big glory hole without the anonimity. Imagine the lovely smell of your neighbor having mud butt. Or a drunk guy walking in and not being able to aim straight while your reading the latest issue of "Putin Weekly", which has a really good article on how to get the borscht stain out of your tie using potatoes. I'd like to hear CyberRat's take on this, though, from the domestic perspective. I've only heard foreign journalists so far.
  2. So, the Winter Olympics are kicking off very quickly here. No one I have met is very high on the Olympics this year because of the terrible press (deservedly so) that the Sochi village and the Russian government are getting. 1. Sochi does not have the infrastructure to support the Olympics. Almost everything had to be built from scratch. EVERYTHING. 2. Everything they built from scratch is pretty crappy. Toilets don't work. Door knobs not able to be used, but are still put on. Shortages on supplies. Unfinished rooms/buildings/sidewalks/streets. 3. Security is crazy and so are the terrorists. The people there should be afraid because of both sides of the law, as Putin uses vague laws to put away anyone who dares stand up to him. 4. Shaun White is one of 3 people hurt while practicing on a poorly constructed slopestyle course. Shaun's injury is the least of injuries, which saw one person carried out on a stretcher already. White has since dropped out of that competition to keep his health for the other events he is to attend. I'm curious how this will play out. If anything, I hope no one gets hurt any further and things are okay in the end for a fun time for everyone.
  3. At least the Kitten Bowl was entertaining.

is that like the crappier version of the puppy bowl?

  4. Some do, and some don't. Basically, enough don't that it warrants the movie phrase. I think we've all bitten into a crappy chocolate we were hoping was delicious only to want to vomit at the center no one can readily identify, looking as bad as it tastes.
  5. At GOG I saw Serious Sam First Encounter for $0.59.
  6. It's common here, but I just read the recent studies on it. And, I had no idea that paracetamol is acetameniphen. So, there was the connection to what you were talking about, then the additional information I gained from the studies. Kind of a 2 headed dragon.
  7. Pretty much, yes, all over the TV. The commercials are crappy ones to sit through, and they have to list out each symptom and possible situation in which the drug may affect you. Very boring ads. I hope to not see any during the Super Bowl Also, paracetamol. I had to look that one up. Turns out it's not good for kids nor unborn children. And it's normally called acetaminophen in the US.
  8. If it poses a threat to small children and animals, and is spotted far enough into town, then, yes. I've only seen them in the fields, so not much news there.
  9. This dry weather is going to mean some bad things, but I have talked to some people out your way who are planting now versus their normal March for specific crops. Basically, everything is a problem now. Yesterday, the California Honey Bee guys said that they will have a problem, as there won't be much for the bees to feed on after the almonds are done blossoming. Cattle have no green pastures to graze this year. So, you must realize that the critters who are in these fields normally also use the same food sources. These are the ones you need to worry about. Their food source is drying up, and they will be looking for other food sources. This could be a very bad year for organic crops, because they have very little protection. And expect there to be at least one or two instances in the news where a mountain lion or coyote is spotted in an area closer to humans while they look for food (God forbid someone gets hurt from this). My opinion is that you just try what you can. Food prices are going to spike high because of the drought, and anything you can grow yourself is going to be much cheaper than what you will pay in the store. Pickling your veggies will pay dividends, too, if you have an abundant crop of anything. I'm growing radishes this year, tomatoes (heirlooms), cucumbers, and trying some peppers again. I need to get the soil ready this weekend for planting.
  10. You have always been my favorite whore, aside from Kelly Shibari, of course. We all have our favorite whores.
  11. Someone posted the other day that they miss Jesus.
  12. Me: So, if I bought a Windows 8 laptop like they have on the commercials, and I can't suddenly dance and be over-the-top cool, they should pull that commercial? Too bad I don't live in the UK, or I'd be blowing up that complaint hotline! 1-17-13 Later than year after I had not seen the commercial on TV anymore.... Isola: Ah~ but cool dancing was not a feature of the laptop but of the user 10-13-13
  13. StaySICK makes some good, valid points about bigotry and the role it plays, as well as the imperfection of justice. But, like we can see with all justice systems, there is no such thing as a perfect justice system. There will be a very small percent of convictions that are incorrect, regardless of reason. But, do you make the rules to capture the .001% or make rules to capture the 99.999%? And one thing we need to look at is victim's rights. Or, as in most cases of those on Death Row, the rights that were stripped of the victims. When you take away the rights of those victims, does the person who did the crime get all of their rights? No, but they have more than the dead lady whose throat was slit and bled out. And they have more than that unborn baby. Hell, North Korean citizens have more rights than lady who was raped, killed, and body left in the woods to rot. So, let's not forget the victim: "Joy Stewart, 22, was nearly eight months pregnant when she encountered McGuire in Preble County, Ohio, while visiting a friend on Feb. 11, 1989. McGuire would first blame her kidnapping and murder on his brother-in-law. Authorities took his words seriously because he knew things about the crime that had not been made public, such as the anal rape of the victim, and he led them to the murder weapon, a knife, hidden in a farm hayloft. But McGuire’s accusation didn’t hold up and DNA evidence excluded the brother-in-law but implicated McGuire." "McGuire sought sex from Joy Stewart but she refused and he raped her. According to court documents, McGuire said that “because she was so pregnant it was difficult to engage in sex with her, so he anally sodomized her. Joy then became ‘hysterical,’ which made McGuire nervous. He ended up killing Joy for fear that he would go to jail for raping a pregnant woman.” "He choked her. Then he stabbed her with the knife he used to forcibly rape her. His first thrust “caused no significant injury,” according to the autopsy report. His second blow inflicted a 4½-inch cut in her throat and severed her carotid artery and jugular vein. He wiped blood off his hands on her right arm and dumped her in a wooded area where she was found the next day by hikers." "Sometime between her death and when her body was found, her unborn baby died. Her grave marker indicates she intended to name her baby Carl, according to the Columbus Dispatch. Her husband Kenny committed suicide within a year after her murder, reports the newspaper. Joy’s sister, Carol Avery, said their parents were devastated: “They never fully recovered and both died knowing that her killer still lived.” "Preble County prosecutors rightly observed, “One can scarcely conceive of a sequence of crimes more shocking to the conscience or to moral sensibilities” than the kidnapping, rape and murder of a pregnant woman." 14. If the state has determined the punishment is death, then so be it. These aren't typical crimes we are talking about, but seriously fucked up people who did seriously fucked up things. Keeping them locked in a cage is supposedly more humane, but that is an assumption made by people who are not locked up for 50 years until they die. And implying we are all sociopaths because we disagree with you is not a valid point. That kind of argument is something I expect from Limbaugh.
  15. I'm more entertained by the death chemicals than I am this. So, the jackass died slowly instead of fast. Boo-fucking-hoo. I don't feel sorry for him. Fuck him. He's been alive since the time of the murder, 25 years ago. Since she was 8 months pregnant at the time of her murder, the baby would be 25 by now. He has kids that are alive. We know this because they are planning to sue and get money from this, as bad as the sleaze they call 'dad'. Her parents both died while waiting for him to be executed all these years. So, I don't give a fuck if he chokes during his execution. I hope he got to choke on some prison guard dick while he was in prison, too.
  16. Vegas was fun. I saw lots of pr0n stars, ate some damn good food, and got to see some burlesque and comedy. Couldn't ask for a better time.

Gabriel Iglesias was performing there, but tickets were over $100 per person. I've seen him before for a lot cheaper than that. Dude is hilarious!

  17. "more enterprise friendly features" Yes. Enterprises buy licenses by the hundreds/thousands. This should be key to keep sales, as organizations want to use cheap (crappy mostly) desktops for their employees to use. And, when it comes to the tiles/apps, IMO touchscreens are nice for PLCs, but those are custom programmed for most organizations.
  18. I attended today a luncheon put on by the county chamber, coming as a representative of the company I work for. There were people I know there, so I didn't feel too out of place. There were 2 groups of speakers, and the topic was the ACA. The first group got up and made the opening clarification that they work for the state and do not make the laws. This was important, as they endured no harsh questions, just questions about how people can be covered and some of the details we all wanted to know about. The second speaker was from an insurance broker, who also is on the committee for Covered California. She gave her presentation and threw out some very generalized things in support of Covered California. Then came the Q&A portion, and there were some very tough, very specific questions. Nothing she could readily answer without bringing up more questions. And one of her answers directly conflicted with a Federal study that came out last week, which she was called out on. It was getting real ugly. But, the host cut everyone off, and the speaker wrapped up her last question with a suggestion: Vote and let your voice be heard. Man, I had a good time at that.
  19. After the Archer season premeire last night, they had on the new animated show on FX called Chozen. It's about a gay, white rapper who is recently released from prison. That is all I'm going to spoil for you. The show fell flat, though. The main character isn't really likeable or funny and there is no person who you really like in the bunch. There was only one time when I laughed/found something funny during the show. It bored me enough to pay attention to the clock to see when the show was going to wrap up so I can move onto other fun things like laundry and using the lint roller on the drapes. So, I'm going to give this one a thumbs down.
  20. http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9245400/Microsoft_to_1_its_OS_move_to_Windows_9_in_2015 In April of 2015, Windows 9 is coming. It felt like Windows 8 just never really got off the ground, so this could be the answer to that. The details are sketchy and just guesses from everything I've read. We will find out more in six weeks, when there is an industry conference.
  21. At this time on Thursday, I'll be on my way to Vegas. Old Vegas. New Vegas has too many groups with weapons and explosives.

I liked the AVN awards before Sasha Grey [fill in blank of naughty act].

  22. I just came here to post the same thing. The Vita deals are awesome!
  23. Same here. People in the South-East must be the strong, dominant persons of the UK, who are remarkably handsome and curiously intelligent. The US one nailed me down to Fresno, CA area as the first selection, which is eerie. Because it's right.
  24. Got my tickets to go see Wicked! Love this musical

I feel like I should go see this, but I've always been more music over spectacle. How's the composition? Can't say I've heard many of the songs.
