  1. Comparisons are inevitable, but, yes, are not really necessary. No one has really said they hate either one. They have all just stated a preference. It's like comparing chocolate cake to brownies. Anyone who hates either of those things, without some kind of food allergy, is just plain crazy.
  2. Could it be part of learning to do anything isn't always by reading about it so much as doing it? Let's take one of the most difficult/best books ever made. As I Lay Dying by Faulkner. The book isn't a sit down and read on a lazy afternoon. Part of the greatness of the book is learning how to read it. Part of the fun of games is learning how to play them. So, manual or not? I can't say. There is fun to be had in both ways of the process, but I do prefer learning the hard way.
  3. Well, that ST game looks pretty interesting. Kirk and Spock doing some cool double teams. TNG was cool. The funny thing was how far advanced on the graphics things were between the original series and TNG. It you catch the original series, you'll notice that a lot of "stone" or "rock" structures were sheets or paper mâché. So damn hilarious!
  4. Heroes don't die, Chewie. The EU for SW is far more rich. Star Trek has more involved and convoluted timelines, where SW is quite a big range of time where shit can happen. Some of the most beloved SW characters are from the EU (Darth Bane, Thrawn). Speaking of the books, did you ever check out the free series The Lost Tribe of The Sith? Worth reading once, but just for the last two released titles of that series. I mainly liked it because it was free.
  5. Star Wars has a place in my heart like no other. But, I actually watched ST more growing up than I did SW. Kirk was a cowboy. Macho. Manly without a mustache. And the women were hot. SW was more of a superhero line to me because I only got to see the episodes 4 and 6. My parents didn't want me watching Empire, where all the meat was. When I finally saw Empire, I was in love. That movie is still the best. But, as much as people compare them, they are two different movies. One is strictly SciFi (ST) while the other is about adventure and heros. As you can tell by my gallery, I go to SW things (I hate the Celebration 6 is in Florida, so I will miss it). I know ST fans that speak Klingon and cosplay. Trekkies are cool for that shit. But they aren't the 501st!
  6. The tape measure says 5'5" ish, but I feel 10 feet tall. Pretty swell, might I say.
  7. It is good to see you, too. I finally found out where the cool kids go to smoke cigarettes and drink wine coolers. I'm lovin this site.

  8. About to get on stage with my 3 yr old girl and do the chicken dance to a sold out audience. If someone finds my balls, please send them back to me soon.

I daresay you have more balls than most men. Good show.

Thanks, P4. It was her nap time, so she was grumpy and throwing a fit until curtain. She put on a good show. Then, we came home and had a BBQ. Friends. Cake. Now, I'm the one ready for a long summer nap.

  9. I have one thought. Sometimes two, but not often enough to brag. The Miz really is fun. He is so sleazy and slimy. He is the perfect heal. I love cheering for the heels. For years, I would wait for Angle to come out and take on whatever face was going at the time. But, it takes a great heal to really make that face shine. Here is to you, Miz. You're awesome!
  10. Check the snow pack. The water tables are getting better (check out the resevoir at Pacheco Pass). The rivers and canals all still have water in them right now. Good thing, too, as this will help keep down commodity prices on food, as it's really going through the roof right now. More than half of the nation's nuts, fruits, and veggies come from CA. Then again, we are only known for our nuts and fruits. And some people think we are basically vegetables. Well, hell. :'(
  11. Too much curry at lunch. Need to rest. Sleep for hours. I would hide under my desk, but I fear the bugs.

Oh god I could go for some curry about now @_@

I wish I could've helped you avoid overindulging on it, lol xD

  12. My opinions tend to sit with Slag's. I prefer gaming on my couch, popping the game in, and vegging. I game for entertainment and fun. Messing with drivers and such is way too much effort for me. By the end of my day (9 or 10 usually), I get to unwind a little. Way too much thinking and doing to do all day. I need to be as dumb as a brick for the next hour or 3 before bed. Man, I love my quiet time.
  13. Hey, good to see some familiar faces! And it's good to see you, Slag. I actually came here after I saw that same suggestion to you, yesterday, to come here. I think I just signed in before you did. So far, pretty cool!
  14. I won't defend Kotaku, but here is what I see. Kotaku is a blog. It's been that way since my first days of going there. So, I expect a little less focus on the news side at times (let's say 10%). However, the drug article really didn't sit well with me. Gawker had it on all of their sites. It might have been an advertisement for all I know. I refused to click on it. Today, there was a picture, as I pulled it up during my break, of a girl in a bikini washing cars. I didn't care for this, either, as it's NSFW. But, I digress. I don't hate Kotaku so much as I hate the design. HATE the design. Like, stick pull nose hairs out with a tweezer type hate.
  15. Steaks or Weinerschnitzel tonight? Damn, these are tough decisions to make.

Made beef curry instead. Whole garlic cloves included. House is gonna smell for days!

  16. Thanks, guys. I haven't seen a lot of you in a while. Feels good to be remembered! I'm still trying to figure my way around the site (been a long time since I have been forum this size). I'm sure I'll post something in a wrong place, but you can't really learn to use something until you break it once or twice, which is the rule of thumb I use for all databases. Rock on!
  17. My name is TheRevanchist, also The Artist Formerly Known As TheRevanchist2. Please don't hate me because I am beautiful.
