  1. My favorite headline today: "EA making more money through Apple's iOS App Store than its own Origin service"

It's nice to see people EA's info every which way.

MS makes more from Android than it does from WinPhone.

What'd be interesting is if EA is taking significantly less on PC front since pulling out of Steam. Especially compared to competitors that've stayed.

  2. That front page of the link is wrong in so many aspects: "Learn more about what we do" "Careers"
  3. On the other topic, the songs were much more sung in the spirit of detest of King George. Fun stuff when looking back at the American social perspective. But, wouldn't be right to share with you ladies and gents. I'm not even sure they would allow such songs in the modern elementary school system, as people are way more sensitive these days.
  4. He has the same first name as King George III, which is, by American custom, a lesser king, as told by the songs we sang in elementary school.* *might not be actual opinion, but I sure did love to sing songs in elementary school
  5. I could eat the shittiest of food from dirty taco trucks. But, one fucking Subway sandwich, and I want to puke out my pancreas and shit out my small intestine.

You're the second person I know who seems to get sick due to Subway. I literally just ate a subway sandwich, with seafood nonetheless, and I'm perfectly fine.

The best tacos I've had in my life came out the back of a guy's trunk. He'd cook them at home and drive around selling them.

  7. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/pro-zimmerman-pro-trayvon-martin-groups-meet-houston-article-1.1405688 Whoa.
  8. Just had some freak thunderstorm. Cooled it down to the high 90's, so it wasn't that bad.
  9. 'Tis a boy! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/theroyalfamily/10155483/Kate-Middleton-birth-pregnancy-baby.html Still waiting to hear the name, though.
  10. I've been checking the news every day to see the progression. Having a baby is exciting news. And, this being the royal family makes it much more interesting. Plus, I have some damn fixation about the history of royals. The whole ordeal of re-burying Richard III has had me all worked up. So, some good royal news is always fun to hear.
  11. As much as we love pr0n, there is more important UK news. Baby is popping his/her head out! http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/07/22/us-britain-royal-idUSBRE96L05320130722
  12. "So the disparity is clear. But the figures don’t yet prove bias. As Roman points out, the data doesn’t show the circumstances behind the killings, for example whether the people who were shot were involved in home invasions or in a confrontation on the street." "Additionally, there are far fewer white-on-black shootings in the FBI data — only 25 total in both the Stand Your Ground and non-Stand Your Ground states. In fact, the small sample size is one of the reasons Roman conducted a regression analysis, which determines the statistical likelihood of whether the killings will be found justifiable." That's the problem with the statistics in this case. The sample size is far too small. I love me some stats, but these are minimal findings based on the total samplng from Jan 05 to Dec 09: 73000 homicides 1412 "justifiable" homicides "Out of 70,000 cases, we find that the homicides similar to the Martin case occurred just 23 times in five years. Of those 23 cases, only 9 (39 percent) were ruled to be justifiable homicides." Besides the fact they can't get the numbers right (73k vs 70k and 23 times vs 25 times), this case is statisically outside of the norm. It is the deviation of the deviation. Good article, though you have to think through the article to realize that not every majority can shoot a minority and get away with it as a justifiable homicide. The chances of that happening are 25/73000 = 0.03%, and even some of those samples might be home invasion or a robbery, as stated by the study. But, that is how statistics work. You can actually paint any picture you want using statistics (something we did in college as part of the many stats classes I took). And, I'm not trying to be a dick, Fred. I'm merely pointing out that this article and study are basically the media trying to fire up people again. You and I both agree that Zimmerman should have been guilty of at least manslaughter. We both agree the jury was poorly selected. We both hate that someone was killed. Nothing good has come from this and it does leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

  14. So, you can put his on the cover of the Boston Globe and the New York Herald, but put his face on Rolling Stone and people get mad? It's just another news report, people, not a Playgirl centerfold.

      madbassman39

It is controversial, I don't decide what is or isn't controversial. I don't think its OK to put his face on any publication, Boston Globe, NY Herald, or Rolling Stone.

    4. madbassman39

      madbassman39

I think there is no difference between putting his face on any of the publications. I also don't control the media and other peoples opinions. Controversy has nothing to do with me, or you, or any one person, its masses and opinions. I really think you missed my point there FDS.

"any older Deadpool". Yes, I am old. I still have my "-1" issues. But, to be fair, they came out in the mid-late 90's, I believe.

  18. "Why are we characterizing the person who was killed, and not the killer?" To be clear, I called them both idiots, but I responded to the question of: "Can you inform me as to why Martin was an idiot, btw?". I have no respect for either, but I have sympathy for Martin's family for having to go through such a mockery of justice and for the loss of their child. No matter how old a son or daughter is, losing them is one of the worst things that can happen to a person. On another note: Kim Kardashian, the complete waste of space she is, tweeted about justice for Martin. People quickly responded with some comments about how her dad was a lawyer for OJ. Justice for Nicole Simpson, anyone? HA! Some knuckleheads in LA did some damage to businesses and attacked people. Luckily, it was confined to just a bunch of assholes, and not a mass crowd of rioters like there was in 1992, when shops were burned, store owners defended their businesses with shotguns, and looters pilaged (sp) the city. Of course, some radio dipshit (Glenn Beck) this morning, as I was turning stations, tried to liken the people who were causing damage to the same people who did the Occupy Wal Street. Man, these guys will say and believe some of the dumbest shit ever for ratings.
  19. Martin, said while on the phone to his friend Jeantel, some "creepy ass cracker" was following him around. He called his friend. Not the cops, or someone who might be able to help him. So, instead of doing that reasonable thing, decides to get into a fight with the other knucklehead. His texts confirmed his love of fighting people, which is a dumb thing. His texts also indicated he was looking to get his hands on a gun, though most likely for other purposes than to deal with this other idiot. He was found with burglary tools at his school, as well as some women's jewelry. He was also suspended for being high at school, where he had some drugs on his person. To me, that all adds up to idiot. But, most of this is not relevant to the case. What is relevant is that they were both looking for a fight, from what it appears happened (as we will never really know the full details). "I believe manslaughter is what they should have been looking at from the beginning, and what they jury was told they may consider." Yes. I think that would have been the most fitting for what happened, as I don't think anyone intended on killing someone. However, with the social pressure the prosecutor's office was under, they would have been labeled badly had they gone for anything less than murder 2. That is where I believe some injustice was done, as well as the jury selection. Who let's that kind of jury go up for a case like this? Inconceivable!
  20. This thing just keeps getting better: "The special prosecutor appointed to the George Zimmerman case has sacked a whistle-blowing colleague who testified at the trial that the state attorney’s office failed to comply with the rules of discovery. Ben Kruidbos, the state attorney’s office IT director, was reportedly fired in the wake of rendering testimony during a June 6 hearing that was potentially damaging to the prosecution regarding cell phone photos and text messages discovered on Trayvon Martin’s phone that were not furnished to defense attorneys. The Orlando Sentinel reports Kruidbos received a scathing letter from State Attorney Angela Corey's office Friday morning, calling him untrustworthy and adding he "can never again be trusted to step foot in this office."" Seems like some horse play is going on.
  21. "...open season on teenagers...""...half the country will cheer..." I doubt it is open season on teenagers. And I doubt half of the country is cheering. There is always a small percent of people who have a POV other than the norm, but I'm pretty sure most people are not cheering. And no one I know, besides his lawyer, has made him out to be a saint. If anything, he was an idiot who got caught up with another idiot and made idiot soup together.
  22. Funny. I always think of those who have new games as living at home with parents or single with all kinds of free time. Heck, even getting free time to play games is a chore, and it ususally takes me a couple of months to complete a game on a console, maybe a few weeks if on a handheld or the phone. So, I have no empathy regarding spoilers (I'm probably a dick for being like that), but I also make a point to not spoil games for others, as I'm so far behind on my backlog. I'm pretty sure I'll catch up on my current games half way through the next gen of consoles.
  23. I've had some misdiagnose from PAs, as had my mom & dad. My dad has kidney, liver, diabetes, high blood pressure, some other shit, and my mom nagging him. Poor guy!
  24. Last I had heard: UPDATE: We have received confirmation from readers that they are indeed being emailed their codes. UPDATE #2: We're getting reports that Best Buy has ran out of codes and is now refunding people's orders, for what it's worth. The web page is still up if you want to attempt to purchase one. Congratulations if you managed to snag yourself a code!
