Not really, Dean. Turning 18 in the US is really celebrated by going out and buying a lottery ticket, or telling some individual you're legal to have sex with (in most states). The sixteenth for girls is really the last time they can be "little girls" as some states make you an adult by 17 and after that you're about to be out of high school and stuff like that.

TME, I know in some states you can drop out of school at 16 and consent to some other stuff (like sex with an adult) but Federal laws essentially makes 18 the full legal age everywhere for all things.

That annoys me at restaurants. I just want to walk in, eat, have a pleasant conversation with whomever I am with, then leave. I don't need to have a damn conversation with you. When I am really annoyed, I just give the people dirty looks when they talk to me. I guess I can be a real a-hole to people who are just doing their jobs. But, their main job is to make me happy and want to come back and eat. Talking to me is annoying. Besides the food being mediocre, that is what really keeps me from having lunch at the chain restaurants. I'm old and crotchety.

Too true. Kotaku Core is a good tool. I wish they promoted it more (like a big f'n button on the front page that says "FILTER OUT THE WORTHLESS SHIT"). The casual reader has little clues about how to navigate the site and use the tools available.

Better is a relative word. Certain things have gotten better. Other things are worse, like the new writers. Fahey and Owen still interact with the community, which is good, as the other editors usually do not (and should not, based upon their writings). I would say that Kotaku is definitely different, but not necessarily improved to a point where Bash is not writing articles about Japanese girls and their panties. He likes that too much, despite the audience really wanting more about games and less about fetish.

I concur with Estel. Do something where you can see results immediately. But, if that is not an option, take some beginner classes. I'm not sure what kind of education for the public they have over there. Here in the US, we have a bunch of educational opportunities available to the public, some rather pricey and some more beginner-ish and less costly. Trying to learn such a difficult thing needs support, so I don't think doing that on your own will work out well in the end (speaking from experience).

The floating grip isn't horrible, but when you have big hands, the pinky has nowhere to go. But, nothing is really comfortable on my pinky. Broke too many fingers over my lifetime (each one earned playing sports), and I don't think my pinky is straight anymore. That's what I love about the 360 controller. My DS3 has been dropped many a time in trying to handle it in my fingers. The 360 controller is nice and large, easy to grip and harder to drop. Of course, I still like my original XBox controller. And everything is better than the knob controller for my Pong machine back in the day. That was a pain in the tuckus. -
Then, I guess it was the same thing. But, finally, a job for us ugly people! And I get to play dress up. Ru Paul, eat your heart out!

It's not non-existent, as I've heard of people going to these shows, but they are hard to find. And the one I had heard of, was an all drag show.

From what I have seen on The Full Monty, I can understand your pain. We have something similar here, but I haven't been to one of those places since college.
