  1. Then intergalactic wars. Problem is first contact can work but it won't be a big surprise as unlike with aliens we can communicate with others via the interwebs
  2. yeah. At this point I kind of expected the endings to be giant cockteases and underwhelming.
  3. Stephen Colbert was supposed to have a cameo in the Hobbit. Did anybody recognize him in this film? If not hopefully he appears in one of the other two films.
  4. Interesting that they left such a powerful ring with a hobbit that whole time haha. Man I need to watch those films again. I guess it's largely due to them being able to keep the ring unlike others.
  5. What's so bad about the Far Cry 3 story? They outright tell you it's a modern retelling of Alice in Wonderland and deals with topics I don't tend to see like male rape and jungle fever.

All of it's magical negro and noble savage shtick can be pretty grating once you're a ways in. Plus, you're not a likable character, and the only real dynamic villains get somewhat brushed aside in order for you to bang all the natives. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's certainly lacking the subtlety to really pull off the Alice in Wonderland story.

I didn't find it racist at all. Maybe it's because I've been watching An Idiot Abroad and tribes are just like they are portrayed here.

    3. Mister Jack

You also have to reach the end of the game to fully appreciate what it's doing.

  6. How did Frodo get the ring at the beginning of the film? I always thought Gandalf brought it to his presence or the council had it at that point.
  7. Thanks again Thursday for making us all look bad and gifting me Far Cry 3. I didn't mind though
  8. The closest we have to compare it to is a Minecraft server or second life if I had to compare it to something
  9. I read the book a while back ago in spanish so forgive this question if it seems stupid but
  10. The Hobbit. Fucking fantastic film and it made my friends, who were going in with all intentions to hate on it, eat their words. The CGI didn't bother me because it was largely used for non-human sized creatures like with LoTR and they chose to use it for creatures like the white orc to make them look slicker. Honestly it's unfair to compare the CGI to Avatar because this one looked just as good imho and it had many scenes where it combined live action with CGI unlike Avatar where most scenes of the blue alien cats had no live action humans around. It wasn't as good as LotR but people need to remember this book was written before and was meant as more of an adventure film than the "Save the world" epic of the Lord of the Rings.
  11. See at this point I was used to AC always ending on some sort of 'what the fuck' moment. Either a cliffhanger or anti-climactic "there will be another game" so I don't know what people were expecting with this one.
  12. It'd be awesome if someone could do a study/estimation about how much it would cost to build one of the cities from Bioshock irl. I'd say Columbia is out of the question as keeping something of that size afloat requires more technology and fuel that we are capable of, but Rapture could definitely be made. Even if to a lesser extent. Would humans have a hard time adapting to pressure? Or would it already be pressurized? How deep into the ocean is it? How do they get around the city besides walking? Do splicers like to add salt n pepper to their food or are they tired of extra splices? These are all burning questions my nerdy mind needs answered. Even more than how much the Death Star would cost in terms of cash and natural resources.
  13. Seeing how I only used the assassins blade I never wasted money so I was able to build the naval convoys without any hassle and already had a couple of upgrades to my ship. If you ever get back into the game and get naval convoys, best and easiest thing to do is to send pelts of expensive animals. Can't remember how many pelts you can send but if you can there's one area in the forest just full of bears (near the bottom west if I recall correctly). Kill as many bears as possible, then send bear pelts via naval convoys. I made around 13000 dollars per naval convoy with bear pelts. Later on once your hunting lady is fully upgraded you can get bear pelts from her I think. And if not bear pelts it'll be like the second to highest most expensive pelt. Thats' when stuff starts making more sense economically. You buy pelts from her on the cheap, then sell them at a much higher price. On the topic of the ending can somebody tell me what is it that people absolutely HATE about the ending? I found it not nearly as disappointing as others would claim, not to mention ME3 earlier this year kind of ruined it for me. Maybe it has to do with not caring about the AC story as much as I did about ME. Who knows.
  14. This sounds too ambitious. WAY too ambitious. I need to know the talent behind it, just so I know who to blame when it inevitably fails
  15. I didn't realize that the game took place in my home country of Colombia. At least according to you guys.
  16. It's nice to hear from people I trust more than critics that the film is actually pretty good. Definitely looking forward to it now.
  17. La ciudad se llama Duke, Nuevo Mejico el estadoooooooo

"Llama Duke" is a much better name than "Thorgi", imho.

Now I have pennies, and am going home for xmas I may have to see if the local abattoir is open and get a steak.

  20. Yeah man. The thing about a Secret Santa online is that you need to at least trust the community enough to know you won't get ripped off by that person. I trust everybody in here as much as I'll ever trust someone online. Except for Bacon. That is one shifty motherfucker.
  21. Yeah Stick of Truth included. Honestly Obsidian needs to take their sweet fucking time with this. Too long have they had the excuse of being rushed. People lose hope/interest. You know, fool me once deal.
  22. Obsidian usually has interesting or improved concepts to games alongside excellent writing. They just fail with glitches and technical errors. I'm sure it'll be fun gameplay.
  23. well the trailer showed stuff that looked like obvious summons.
  24. I think it looks fantastic. With the dialogue writing and voice acting from South Park mixed with the Obsidian [hopefully] working at their best it can't go wrong. But then again Obsidian could always say it is riddled with glitches because they're being rushed.
