  1. All Sony would have to do is show the more powerful games during their presentation. I think Destiny is being made w/ exclusive content for the ps4, show that and you may have a shot. Valve is already super friendly with Sony as well, so are indie developers outside of Behemoth and Ska Studios who still ride Microsoft's dick. What I CAN see is Microsoft showcasing a lot of EA games during their presentation since EA is betting all of its chickens on Microsoft. If the Witcher 3 has any appearance in here as well I could see them showing up for the PS4 since they're pretty big on anti-DRM thoughts. If I were Sony and Microsoft pulled this and a lot of studios took the bait, I would just release press releases to the press, or ad campaigns, showcasing how all of those games are also on PS4.
  2. You said A Fistful of Dollars and suddenly my interest was piqued.
  3. Yeah the fact it's developed by those guys is bringing me a bit down. And it seems like the game will revolve around going buildings, possessing others and finding clues with the occasional pacman ghost you gotta take down. I'm sorry to say this is looking pretty much like a rent as of right now. Hopefully they show more besides 'gritty fedora ghost walks around at night looking at clues'.
  4. I was interested before but now I'm hyped as well. I was dreading the thought that I wouldn't get to enjoy the game with my friends since they were most likely to get it for the PS4 and I'm not planning to get it till early 2014 at the earliest, but then I remembered the game isn't scheduled to come out till 2014 and I sighed in relief. This means I can play it with them. These past few years I've been ignoring multiplayer games a large part due to them playing on their PS3 while I'm the only one on 360.
  5. how they ever got Clint Eastwood to participate I'll never know.
  6. If by attitude of male employees you mean immaturity between themselves then yes. I don't think nearly as many developers are man children as people want to make you believe. If you're a woman in the field though you probably have to deal with a lot of shit. This is where the sense of humor comes into play imho. Unless they're annoying to the point of breaking down or actually trying to hurt you I would go along with the jokes. When I interned in an international company last summer I was known as the 'Gringo' or the 'American'. They would constantly do jokes but I knew they weren't mean spirited so I played along. Even one of my office mates kept bugging me because she didn't think I could take care of myself in the city. She was probably the closest to annoying me. But eh, time went by.
  7. @Atomsk: You own a Corgi? You have no idea HOW jelly I am.
  8. I don't know if work environment plays much of a role unless you work in a smaller indie studio. At least everytime I see videos of developer studios it's standard stuff. Cubicles, offices, etc. With the occasional cool thing to remind you it's not super strict.
  9. I read that as Hodor mode for a sec there.
  10. My research showed that ,at least, in science/technology companies that actively looked to diversify the sexes more by hiring more interested women there were economical and scientific benefits. The medicine and safety fields saw some advancements they would have never noticed if not for the addition of more women. Companies that just added women to please others though didn't do any better if not worst though. The patriarchy structure of many industries prevent women in said industries from growing as well. So what I'm trying to say is that a positive step the gaming industry could take is to do what the Europeans did a couple of years ago which was to ask companies to increase the amount of women hired. But these publishers don't follow a unified guideline really so the closest I can think of is for the big ones [ubi, Activision, EA] to start a trend and also encourage students to apply to the gaming industry. Many will stay away because it's largely a boys club and they've been lead elsewhere
  11. Welcome to the Club. You'll find this club very welcoming, though some of the older members have grown tired. If you wish to know more secrets and spoilers, you'll have to scratch our backs before we scratch yours. My back. Is on my penis.

  13. 1942 noir film? Was there a detective in an office and a hot seductress?
  14. I actually wrote a lengthy paper recently on women and the engineering/science field, I wouldn't be surprised if this is similar in terms of reasons why the numbers are so low.
  15. I like how they show that game the Grumps are playing. The one with the women in bikinis with tits the size of the wheels in a truck.
  16. We're not British. For me that sounds very close to a British insult because it has Daft in front of it.
  17. Think about it. Katrina when you rearrange the letter spells Muhammad. edit: boy this comment is gonna look out of place in a new page.
  18. You might be the first person I've met who has mentioned X-blades and not followed it by' 'blows donkey dick'
  19. You mean like the Grasshoper games? Those have all been pretty grindhouse inspired.
  20. Jack I want to believe you, but 'I know a guy in the government' is usually related to 'Bush did 9/11' But to show you how good of a sport I am, I won't buy the Juan. Just for you. I mean I wasn't planning to. But for you, I'll for sure not do it honey dick.
  21. As I was jokingly saying earlier, nobody wants to play as an unattractive main character unless it's for comedic effect. I'm sure somebody out there has the hots for the pretty boy male characters. As long as a woman isn't wearing short shorts or a v neck in the middle of a gun fight I don't mind if she's sexy. And yeah Ethan, beating the message into the fanbase is an issue. There needs to be a smarter way to do it. And I'll give you a hint, that Video Games Tropes vs Women video series is NOT the right way.
  22. I'd still argue there is a bigger market out there for people who don't care/openly enjoy sexualized women that those that do not. And businesses will see money primarily and everything else as secondary. Lowest common denominator. To me this will all boil down to people against sexism being too divided on the degree which they want to fight it. It's like me with white-washed hollywood films. There are varying degrees and some of the groups can't stand each other. I can't stand the over-all message Jezebel seems to be displaying or the Feminazi defenses I've seen from people around the web. Even people who seem to be way into it, a bit which I've seen in this forum before, who go around calling everybody and their mums sexist can get on my nerves. Unless those groups unite under one banner we won't see much progress. And even if we do we'd have to concede to an action or message everybody wants to happen which would boil down to the bare minimum.
  23. The main reason I don't have a problem with Steam is because of sales. They need to keep competitive with the other online digital game sellers that offer the same games. Sony had PS+ and truly the reason it existed is to warrant the $50 a year, but that gave free games and discounts on shit. That was a step in the right direction. Microsoft has gold-exclusive deals and 'sales' that boiled down to 'you might as well buy it in a retail store as these kinda blow'. And no I can't trust Microsoft to make as good of sales as something I can find on PC.
  24. Well until teenage boys and otaku [not mutually exclusive] stop being a major target audience, I'm afraid this will continue. Try and tell a horny individual "the reason we didn't make her slutty is because we're fighting against sexism" and they'll probably turn around and buy your competitor's game [Dead or Alive Beach Party]. Not to say the ONLY thing guys think about is sex when in those groups as I just came out from it, but shit I've been complaining about the same stuff in anime for some years now but it still is a thing that is happening so obviously there's a market for it. Hence why a big portion of M-rated games are aimed at teens.
